Honestly this game is really well made. Sometimes Supermassive games can have kinda cringey dialogue (Like in Until Dawn, even though it's supposed to be a lil cheesy, Man of Medan and Little Hope), but this game was written so well. Yes Joey and Merwin have their cringey moments, but the conversation between Jason and Salim as they enter the nest, if you choose the compassion route is honestly soooo beautiful.
LOVED the message in this. They blatantly say it but “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” But like the way they just work together and the internal conflict characters have with the idea is very interesting
Imo the writing in this game was pretty bad until the very end. The scenes with Salim and Jason were great, but up until that point everything they say sounds like cliche dialogue from a bad war movie, or was just kind of boring. And that was like 4 out of 5 hours of the game. We never really explore why a lot of the characters are the way they are in a way that makes their faults seem sympathetic (only Jason got this treatment, and too far into the game imo) and a lot of the more emotional moments seem forced (aside from Jason and Salim's). The dynamic between most of the characters is forced or unpleasant and thinking back the only dynamic and dialogue I enjoyed or even really remember was Jason and Salim's and maybe Jason and Nicky's. Couldn't care less about Eric and Rachel's marriage, Eric's interactions with Jason and Nicky, or Dar, Clarice and Joey (and Merwin lol).

No one is gonna take the time to figure that out when there’s plenty else to do. I read somewhere that Jason and Salim are clearly the main characters because they are the only ones completely focused on getting out. The other characters are just to add some more drama/story to the plot
I think this is the best Dark pictures game since Until Dawn. The characters wile campy had charisma and solid back stories and the story was interesting with good antagonist. It was nice to avoid the "is all in your head" twist
Jason had leadership skills and knew how to handle situations under stressful circumstances whereas Salim was straight up experienced badass, whilst everyone was using a gun my guy straight up impaling vampires and playing javelin.
I'm here because Cartoonz keeps saying how they made her look stųpid in the game. Her eyes in the game look cross eyed and they render her almost emotionless which is sad because she seems to have really liked her experience. They did her dirty, like toonz kept saying. I hope they fix her eyes.
I don't think a company and its devs that respect every people that part of the game will gladly "do them dirty". They probably need to adjust the 3D model for animations and oof it did not look good. I don't think re capturing was possible at the time.

I appreciate this franchise, but never really cared for any of their characters. Until Salim. And then, surprisingly, Jason, and their duo. Honestly I felt like I was suddenly watching a different game, they were written brilliantly compared to other characters (no offense). It was finally a story that felt real and engaging, and I fell in love with those two. So happy to see that was most people's response, too!

Dude this game is amazing ! Just beat it yesterday. I love that there is a lot of action and love the story it feels like a mix of Alien/ Kong skull island. Also love we play as Marines , CIA Agent , A Colonel , and a Foreign Iraq Solider aka SALIM THE GOAT !. loved everything about it and loved the intro with the Akkadian solider and the prisoner was cool part of game. Definitely rank this game as second best behind until dawn 🔥
I love the game but the dialogues, transitions and the characters are not likeable (except Salim and Jason). Also the characters are so emotionless, I hate say it but most of horror games are good at emotions so this is an exception

Expect Until Dawn characters, the rest looks super fake, plastic like. Especially character’s eyes movements, it’s horrible
