A heartfelt thanks to the whole team of Geeli Mitti for your amazing contributions towards a sustainable living. Hope, you are on your next project and gonna get the deserving recognition in near future.
Such a well made video and what a brilliant mudhouse! Really looking forward to attending one of the workshops! Hope your love and passion keeps growing and including more people into it.. Lots of love and power to you. ❤️
I'm an 18-year-old girl and my family is soon going to build a house in the village. After watching your videos I want to learn how to do it. I want to join a training from you.
What you guy do is beautiful I hope one day I can come to your place and learn how to build mud house and can build on my house from mud and I really wish to live a self sustainable life
Hey, I live in Bastar, Chhattisgarh (search about it) which is a very tribal place. Festivals are huge here, on dussehra we have Big Chariots and a triabal crowd bustling all over the place. Small Huts made with Rocks and Mud. To some extent it re-connects me to my original self. I can totally feel the bliss you have created as an individual. It take guts and honesty to own your own little heaven out there for Christ's sake. I am in my mid 20's working from home, having all my time to explore again those lost essence of time, my connections with soil and more people like you. I came across your channel from another video, cannot find your website, what's going on ? How can I be a part of Gili Mitti concept? ( I am a learning filmmaker and a motion designer, anything I can do for you in return and learn from you meanwhile ? )
Shubham, to apply for a volunteering position, please send an email to geelimittiindia@gmail.com with your CV, skills, experience, how long you'd like to volunteer and when.
We actually haven't experienced any other place with more rain and storms than here. It is the absolute test and all homes have been passing with flying colours, as have mud homes through centuries and centuries and centuries. Please join us for a workshop to experience in person and correct all myths spread about natural homes.
You will design according to your climate and materials availability. Here we have used the sandy soil of our area near Nainital and mixed 25% clay rich soil in it.
We are in a very heavy rainfall zone with torrential rains, hail, storms and more through the year. And no, the mud does not wash off from the roof once the plants have taken root.
Yes ofcourse. Please look out for our training programmes for April and May. These will be announced in another 2 weeks at www.fb.com/geelimittifarms and instagram.com/geelimitti
How can this knowledge be applied for affordable housing and for the benefit of people living in slums. This shouldn't be just limited as rich people hobby.
What makes you think it is a 'limited rich people hobby'? Spend some time and effort to actually understand what the issues are. Knowing how to build affordably with mud is not a problem that we have in this country and hence not one that needs any solution. What is however a problem is that with years of conditioning and wrong policies, mud has been made into a symbol of backwardness and poverty. So the people, no matter of which socio-economic class, don't want to live in a mud house. And we have successfully worked towards educating both the govt and people about the infinite benefits of mud based housing, but more importantly, also for elevating the status of these homes - through innovations, research and design. The problems are a lot more deep rooted and so is our incessant work. Perhaps, join us for a short workshop next time to truly start deep diving and work towards it 🙏🏻
