Thank you for this very useful video ! It helped me a lot in installing the Cruise Control. For those who want to install a cruise control in the Fabia MK1, here are the instructions in english and some tips. Remember this upgrade is only possible if the electronic control box (visible from 15'00 in the video) begins with 6Q0 or 6Q1. So if yours starts with 6Q2, you have to replace it. 1 - Disconnect the battery from the car during the intervention to avoid any problem with airbag (and be careful if the car radio has a security code !) 2 - Remove airbag with a flat screwdriver that is not too wide. There are two holes behind the steering wheel. Insert the screwdriver into one of the holes and pry it by pushing the handle outward. If the tip of the screwdriver is properly positioned, it will unlock this side of the airbag. Do the same on the other side. 3 - Disconnect airbag connector and contacts (note their location or take a picture) 4 - Remove the steering wheel screw (M12 print). But before removing the steering wheel engrave a mark on the steel of the steering wheel and steering column so as not to shift them when reassembling. 5 - Remove the plastic covers from the steering column (two Phillips screws in front and two others below + one Allen screw underneath) 6 - Disconnect the angle sensor connector and unclip the sensor (three plastic tabs). Avoid rotating this sensor so as not to disturb it. 7 - Remove the whole block of stalks by removing the metal collar which fixes it on the column (I advise you to engrave also its position). Disconnect the connectors of the stalks. 8 - Separate the two stalks by acting on the central clip and sliding them. Then assemble the new Cruise Control stalk on the wipers stalk. 9 - Re-install the stalks block and reconnect them. Connect the new wire supplied with the cruise control to the stalk and run the wire to the dashboard. 10 - Remove the bottom of the dashboard driver side (see from 8'20 in the video). All screws are visibles except 2 behind a plastic cover under the instrument cluster (just pull this cover towards you to remove it) 11 - Disconnect the connector of the brake pedal (it is hidden behind a plastic tube but just observe the pedal to find it). Open the front of the connector (11'10 in the video). Pull out the blue wire from the connector. I was able to remove it with a U-shaped bent paperclip. The legs of the U must be parallel and have the proper spacing to act on the metal clips (the best is to look at the new wiring loom to understand how it is locked and adjust the spacing). Insert both legs of the paperclip into the black connector (from the bottom of the connector) and remove the blue wire. In this newly free location insert the wire of the loom supplied with the Cruise control. Close the front of the black connector. Insert the blue wire just removed into the black connector of the new wiring loom. 12 - Now connect the white wire of the new wiring loom. This is the most difficult part ... It connects to the T11a connector of the car. This connector is located on the wall that separates the engine compartment from the passenger compartment. It is about 50 cm above the clutch pedal but is hidden by the steering column and the many cables under the dashboard. To see it, lower the electronic box of the cockpit located at the very left of the dashboard (we can see this box well from 15'00 in the video). This box is retained by a simple plastic clip. You can leave it plugged, the goal is just to move it down as far as possible. It is then necessary to remove the relays board wich is above the electronic box. This board just slides down. And disassemble the plastic stand with the big red cables (it is held by a torx screw) All this increase the visibility towards the bottom of the dashboard (16'45 in the video) and we can see 2 rows of connectors fixed on the wall of the bottom. The one we are interested in is white (the third in the top row). Warning: this connector is held by a plastic clip on the top (to be pushed with the finger) and at the bottom it is locked by a sliding bar. Slide this bar to the side with a flat screwdriver and remove the white connector by pressing on its top clip. The cruise control white wire should go to slot 10. This is the top slot in the middle when the connector is plugged in. To insert the wire into the connector, pull out partially the purple plastic part, insert the metal pin of the white wire into the connector, check that the metal end of this wire protrudes as much as the others inside the connector. And push the purple part to his original position to lock. Reconnect the white connector, slide the locking bar. Reassemble the red wires stand, the relay board and the electronic box 13 - Connect the brown connector of the new wiring loom to the XS3 slot of the electronic box (see 15'10 in the video) 14 - Attach the new wires under the dashboard with plastic collars and reassemble everything. 15 - Activate the Cruise control with the VAG-COM software
Hi. It can be done for a Skoda Octavia 1 RS, 1.8T, engine AUQ, year 2004 (December)? Does this type of Skoda have already the wiring set from the ECU? Thanks
Hi. You need to look at the control unit. As far as I remember, numbers 6Q1 and 6Q2 support the installation of a cruise control but 6Q0 no. But it was so for Fabia. A set of harnesses was ordered separately from the handle of the switch. Something like this.
In my car there is no T11a connector. I located place where it should be, but whole first row of left part are empty socket. Any ideas? Fabia 1.2 htp 40kw (ecu is supported).
It depends not on the brand of the car but on the engine and the number of the onboard communication control unit. The number of the onboard power supply control unit must start at 6Q1 .... and 6Q0 .... If with another number, then it is subject to replacement. Cruising is not possible for engines with electronic control unit 036906034T, 036906034R. But it is possible with 036906034AE, 036906034BL, 034906034BK from 14.12.2000. ruclips.net/video/yuaHP8WALms/видео.html - The onboard communication control unit is shown. On which there is his number and if you look carefully, he starts at 6Q1... . Look at your control unit, I think that he too has to support.

Hi there, can you re upload original instructions for cruise control kit? Link doesn't work.
Hi. All links work, I just checked it myself. Try again. Or try in another browser.
Почему ты не снял клемму с акб ?,видно же что питание идёт на приборную панель .
Точно уже не помню почему, но скорее всего в этом не было необходимости по мануалу.

Maybe in the future I will. But now I have absolutely no time for this. The video is clear and without words).
