Thank's guy, well, I know the advert's are annoying but I have no (0) control over who or what they put up the advert's and the content, but of course they help me in some way to fund my tutorials, and of course more fun to make my video's.
Many gratitude from Korea, my Minolta Autocord was acting up after many years since last overhaul from shop (nearing 8 years). Back then, when I took mine to shop for overhaul, not so many resources were out there, not to mention RUclips. I still can't find a good repair manual on this model, so anything deeper than this is going to give me trouble. I got scared really fast since I thought the timer was somehow stuck but realized I had my flash nob positioned to bulb (M on my case). All is well in the end. Now I just need to cut out leather cover from left-over of my chair reform. **ADDEd : I hope you don't mind my adding link to this video on my blog posting? Let me know if you don't want it.
I too have an Autocord (CDS) that's been waiting for years for me to both lubricate the helicals and patch in a repair for my broken, fragile, cast aluminum focusing lever. I've read that you need to dismantle both from the front and the rear to to get the focusing mechanics out. I searched Kenneth's site here hoping this camera would eventually get its focusing mechanism serviced. No such luck, yet.
Hi Mike, I’m trying to take the lens plate away from the focusing plate. Can’t seem to get to the screws under the lens plate on the same Model as this video?
Great tutorial, I'm excited to read it and am getting ready to do your method to repair my AUTOCORD. i have a question about the slow shutter part, can it be replaced with WD40? Thanks mikeno62, hats off to you.
Mike, Very good video. I have a question for you (if I might). My crank does not go forward only backward. Which obviously affects the shutter. Do you have a fix for that? I have had my Autocord for many years and have run a few rolls through out and it worked just fine. All of a sudden it isn't working. Any suggestions? Thanks
Hi! This was great! Would it be very hard to replace a broken focus lever for this exact model? I found a replacement and I would love to attempt the repair, but I am worried about damaging it and also to not be able to have it calibrated anymore! Would you also consider having a look at it yourself?
I have searched all the Pharmacies and Chemists shops here in my Town Brentwood but nowhere have they got Isopropyl Alcohol.. I was told " you need a special Licence to get it " -- everyone in USA also seem to use it for Camera working but I cannot get any !
Maybe you can get it in another city or another state, you can also try here on this website: www.walgreens.com/q/isopropyl+alcohol or here: www.amazon.com/Healthstar-16oz-Isopropyl-Rubbing-Alcohol/dp/B0778YHHSC?th=1
Another Winner!!!
I was about to tackle this very problem within the next week. Thank you for the video!
I'm sure it will work for you :-)
Great video as usual, shame about the compulsory adverts but I guess they help fund your tutorials ? Keep up the good work Kenneth.

Amazing work as always, many thanks for taking the time to do these videos.

Wow. You know your stuff !. Great video. Are you able to do one on lubricating the focus lever please. Cheers mate.

Great video, very helpful. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for this video! On mine everything below 25 is sticking, would that be the slow gear too? Also the self timer only works sometimes.

What's the separation speed of slow and fast gear? mine has problem below 1/30. And there is no way I can exercise it good?

How many times did you take it apart before making the video?
