Despite how it might look, we don't actually spend most of our days sifting through the bottom of the canal looking for things dropped in. This was just a very grabber heavy time 😂
I think it's been long enough that I can say I just cackled. I also said Think of the Knitwear!!!!!! I understand the tech was the main concern, but my mind was on the Jupiter sweater and the balaclava!
Hello hello, the cattle with the single white stripe around its middle is called a Belted Galloway. They are a Scottish breed and named for their appearance and place of origin. There are also Miniature Belted Galloways. 🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐂🐄 I really like their simple striped coats. 🙂🐿🌈❤️
Love your grabber. Start your business in Paddington basin. Last summer it was full of people staring mournfully into the canal looking for their phones.....
Rite of passage for you, Kris, though I can only imagine how frustrating with all the tech...and the glasses 😢...and Andrew is SO kind and patient. You're a great team 🤩
Sorry that you fell in, and to the damaged equipment and lost glasses. However you still looked remarkably elegant even sopping wet with canal water, and quite poised. It would have been hours before you could have filmed me sans bleeping But, and I guess this depends on belief in fate...or maybe just favourable routine chance...but now when you visit your friends in London and they ply you with harrowing tales of crowded tubes and navigating crowds...you can just say...pfft I fell in the bloody canal..(embellishing fully allowed depending on circumstances🤣) Also I agree on the difficulty of finding the perfect glasses, but now you will have a story to tell about the great glasses hunt. I have no doubt you'll find the perfect pair. Once again your storytelling, and personality, your understanding of light and overall aesthetic have combined to make a truly wonderful video. everything is top notch, and easily one of my favourite channels.
You must have been freezing. Falling in in summer time is quite funny and not too awful but in the cold brrrr. Luckily everything turned out ok in the end.
Kris and Andrew I just discovered your channel and I am officially hooked. I can't wait to see your upcoming summer travels on your narrow boat. Best, Veronique
Sorry about your un-planned dip guys and I do understand about the glasses Kris. Good luck with rescue on the phone and lens, if anyone can mend these its the both of you. Good video.
Hi there, Sorry you fell into the canal, but that wasn't so bad. I can top that, May 2020 during lock down at my local super market I was queuing at the check out, I still don't know why but I blacked out which resulted in both ankles broken and four days in hospital. :-) True story. Note to self must try that Gun. Cheers Milly
@@krisatomic Hi there, Yes both ankles, two broken bones in the left and one in the right ankle. After I came out of hospital because we were still in lock down I had physio by phone, yes via phone. I had a nice phone call from the hospital doctor, I asked if I would be having another X-ray, he said, Sorry we can't do that. My husband got great amusement out of telling people I had collapsed in the wine isle, which was true but I couldn't see the funny side at the time due to the pain. Yes I'm OK now. Love your videos, have a fun weekend, Cheers Milly sue
Oh nooooo 🙊 you poor thing lol, well I've heard that you're not a proper boater until you've fallen in. Hope you got some glasses sorted. Wow, Andrews grabber was money well spent 😮 and omg he's got some patience!! Great vlog.
Saintly stuff. With regard to Belted Galloways...I always think of them as being called George. This in turn led to one of Wallace's daughters, who looked like a belted Galloway in reverse, being christened Georgina. A tenuous link, I know. But, as is my way, I felt it was worth sharing. As for your falling into the canal I can't tell you the number of times I've had to haul Wallace back onto the boat by the scruff of the neck. The first time involved his imagining that his little, barrel body might make it along the length of the boat along the gunwale from the back to the front. It did not. Then numerous optimistic attempts to leap from the bank (especially from a narrow bridge arrangement) to the boat or vice versa and a slight or major miscalculation. I imagine it was similar for David with regard to your dip. A certain discomfort at having to manhandle another mammal in such a way. But a certainty that the alternative was not optimal. Wallace, of course, does not have clothing or items of electrical equipment upon his person. So I think I had it a bit easier compared to David. Everything in perspective.
I do feel for you. With the perspective of time, this will become a minor blip in your journey however that is not to belittle the trauma that you currently feel. Stay strong!
Andrew has a thriving side hustle with the grabber and magnet. So sorry you fell in. Losing glasses is a pain. I lost a pair of Silhouettes several years ago and it took a couple weeks to get sorely needed glasses back…..plus the expense 😢. You saying after the shot of gin that you should be alright, and Andrew replying “ for now” 😂 Hopefully you are alright and Andrew was able to preform the necessary surgery on the lens and camera. Thank you for sharing how things can change in a moments time from elation to despair and questioning yourself . Thank care, and drink gin….hopefully it worked 🧐 🤗😊 Kathy

Kris, that stuff about putting it on a bed of rice is a load of rubbish. The best way to dry your phone is, take the back off it, remove the battery and put it where there is good moving air. Wait a couple of days and it should be dry. Same thing with the camera and lenses. Let the air work its magic and then assess the damage. They say you are not a real boater until you have fallen in at least three times. Thank you for another great vlog. Cheers

Come on Kris, someone who calls herself Kris Atomic needs to be the sort of person who bounces back from such things without pause. (I'd personally have a vlogger name suggesting a person who becomes a hermit and hibernates under a pile of blankets for a year after any mishap, but that's me). I hope you found you glasses and that the camera and phone were okay. I think you were quick enough with a slug of gin, so hoping that it prevented illness and made you feel better.
You can count yourself as a proper boater now following your dunking, bit of a foot stamper about your camera though. The basic rule when moving along the gunnel is to always maintain 3 points of contact, but I guess you now know that.
What's really funny was when I fell I was actually saying - "oh this is exactly how you'd fall" because I only had one hand on the boat as I was holding the windlass. Definitely learned my lesson!!
Yeah everybody's done it drop a camera dropped the wallet into the water it's a lesson you have to learn my suggestion you probably will redone it waterproof bag you carry and that's where you put all your electronics or two bags or three waterproof bags it's important

A very rich man on the back of his expensive glasses empire 😂
@@krisatomic There are el cheapo options for when you’re on the canals, e.g. £10 from Boots. Save your £500 pairs for indoors or special occasions!
Kris Atomic does go back to about 2001 to be fair 😂 but thank you!
@@krisatomic Just trying to help motivate.
Ouch, that was eventful!
Hope life's been a bit more boring since then.
Great way of looking at it haha 🙌
@@krisatomic Like the Chinese curse that goes "may you live in interesting times" 😁
