- Given to the National Trust in 1949 Bodnant, in the Conwy valley of North Wales, is one of its most magnificent gardens. It was created by five generations of the same family beginning in 1874. Close to the house there are beautiful rose gardens flowing down terraces filled with flowers which have amazing views towards the Carneddau mountains. The garden wanders down into a stunning ravine filled with a wonderful collection of trees, including majestic Giant Sequoia, and in spring the fabulous colours of a vast collection of rhododendrons and azaleas. All the seasons have their highlights and a visit is a joy you will want to repeat.

Thank you Lusy. It is a delightful garden to visit. I like to look out gardens wherever I travel as well as more natural places. In Vancouver I really liked the Lynn Creek/Canyon trail and the Queen Elizabeth park, although both days were wet.

This is a wonderful place to enjoy colour and variety of plant life. Not as wild as much of your walks but it does sit very close to the Welsh mountains so a wild experience is only minutes away. The National Trust does a magnificent job of looking after these great gardens, properties and landscapes around the UK.
This reminds me so much the National Orchid Garden in Singapore Botanic Garden. I love the brilliant colours here and the vast landscape!
The Orchid garden in the Botanic Garden is a favourite of mine. We have visited on several occasions and each time have been amazed. The new gardens by the bay are another great addition to the attractions in Singapore. Bodnant is a very different collection of plants many of which would need to be in the Botanic Gardens cool house. It is a very beautiful place to relax

It is a place to return to often. It really is beautiful and so enjoyable. Many UK gardens have Giant Sequoia but they are only about one third the size of those in California. I still love to see them though.

@@PlacesWeGoExploring I have been a couple of times to Sequoia National Park but my arms are not quite wide enough to give the trees a proper hug.

It is easy to lose track of time here. The sound of falling water and the birdsong are hypnotic. The sit and listen while at the same time the air is filled with the stunning perfumes of the azaleas is magical. There is such a lot in this world to enjoy and a great garden is one of those joys. We are lucky here that there are so many wonderful gardens to enjoy. When we were in Iceland we loved the spectacular, raw landscapes and majestic scenery but must admit we did miss the flowers which we have everywhere in abundance. We did however find Reykjavik`s botanic garden while exploring. Thanks for watching.

Bodnant is a great place to experience and enjoy. I like the variety of the place with the deep ravines filled with spring colour and trees like the giant sequoia and the formal terraces with so much wonderful colour throughout the summer. The views from the gardens to the mountains add so much. Thank you for your kind comments.

HI. You have found a visit I made while still working. I used to take members of the Nottingham Mechanics on trips and holidays. This was on one of those trips in late spring when the Rhododendrons and Azaleas are at their best. Last year we visited in early spring when the Daffodils were really worth seeing. I do recommend a look ay the spring video if you have time. Thanks for watching.
