Off the beaten track Scorsese movie that I really like is "Hugo"; so far off track that Robin Williams said of it at the Oscars "126 minutes of Scorsese, and no bloodshed - who knew?" Hugo struggled to find an audience - Scorsese fans saw that it was a "kid's film" and skipped it, and non-Scorsese fans saw it was a Scorsese film and also skipped it. Too bad, the film has a great story, an excellent cast (featuring arguably Sacha Baron Cohen's best performance), and was beautifully shot and edited.

Aladin is his best work hands down. Perfect picture.
I always laugh when he calls him "John Barrymore"
After Hours and King of Comedy are probably the two Scorcese films I go back to the most.
Gangs of New York and Cape Fear gotta be up there.
I'm a new sub. I'm really enjoying these reviews.
Casino is by far - Marty’s best film. Goodfellas is great but got worn TF out by network television
Nah. The departed is goat.
I gotta say it’s a tie. You won’t turn either off if you come across it.
Gingers character in Casino won't allow me to elevate it above Goodfellas.....I absolutely HAAAAAATE her in that movie....which is probably a testament to her acting chops but still
Gotta disagree, its great but not his best
@@jeremyphillips3087 You're all wrong.Taxi Driver
Mean Streets is so good. Forgot all about it. Loved it. Keitel is fantastic.
I've seen "Casino" about 100 times, but lately I absolutely felt in love with "Wolf of Wall Street".
It’s the same movie
@@Eroldlite?
Casino is way better
Steve Madden
Casino is way better though
King of Comedy
CASINO....all time best film made.
I love these clips
I still can't believe I never noticed that was Joe Bob Briggs from the TNT after dark movie reviews as the Idiot casino employee he played that well to a T
2:55 only u bill picked up on an old actor waving directly to the camera as a goodbye. Nobody else picked up on that 😂
It's funny how in the beginning they missed the Wolf of Wall Street actually being in the Wolf of Wall street
didn't realise
Off the beaten track Scorsese movie that I really like is "Hugo"; so far off track that Robin Williams said of it at the Oscars "126 minutes of Scorsese, and no bloodshed - who knew?"
Hugo struggled to find an audience - Scorsese fans saw that it was a "kid's film" and skipped it, and non-Scorsese fans saw it was a Scorsese film and also skipped it. Too bad, the film has a great story, an excellent cast (featuring arguably Sacha Baron Cohen's best performance), and was beautifully shot and edited.
Leo should've won his Oscar for The Departed. Powered that thing along (though the texting in pocket scenes were ridiculous). The Irishman except for Pacino was just tired and too long. Casino and The Last Waltz were Scorcese's peak.
All I can say is: To each his/her own.
“De deparded”😂
Who's talking here? Sounds like Bill talking to Bill.
It's Bill and Paul Virzi
I thought the same thing
At one point I couldn't tell lmao
Nothing will ever beat goodfellas
They forgot Gangs of New York. That's my favorite.
Truly an amazing tale of a son avenging his fathers death
They didn't mention:
After Hours (1985)
Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (1974)
Cape Fear (1991)
Gangs Of New York (2002)
New York, New York (1977)
Shutter Island (2010)
The Color Of Money (1986)
The King Of Comedy (1982)
The Last Temptation of Christ (1988)
1:47 Bill asks what's your favourite all time Scorsese film, I pause, have a think, "got to be Goodfellas", 1 second later Bill says "well you have to take Goodfellas out of the mix"
Growing up with a violent dad and a deep sown love of boxing makes RAGING BULL the greatest film Scorsese ever made. Just like Louis C.K. said, Raging Bull is the funniest movie ever and it's not a comedy by any stretch of the imagination. Just the brutality and ignorance mixed in with great one-liners makes a sick mind laugh until the cows come home.
The cornfield scene in casino where the beat Pesci and his brother with bats was filmed a mile from my house, Hanford California.
casino is based on true events
Hugo is why i love Martin's take
Taxi Driver for me.
The departed formed my love of movies, always will remain my #1 Scorsese movie personally.
Dude that pause was epic
I remember going to see good fellas on my own as a 19 yr old
And I genuinely didn't want the film to end and I've watched it about 30 times since...
It will always be my No1 film
Didn’t Scorsese direct Shutter Island?? Dude that’s in my top 5 Scorsese movies
Probably my favorite either that or wolf of Wall Street
@@cjk617 I got Taxi Driver, Shutter Island, & GoodFellas as my top 3 (no order)
Nah he didn't do that
@@mattjindrak yea he did
@@Kim-ki4jf nope
"after hours", is an underrated Scorsese movie.
Has anybody re-watched The Irishman?? Yeah, me neither.
It's his best film. And should only be watched once with your eyes closed.
The whole movie theater was laughing when Joe Pesci said he looked like John Barrymore 😂
Casino’s secretly the best.
