It's been a full two years since I played this and I'm still in love with it :) Edit: I'm actually one of the bass players in this video, for clarification
We are playing this in orchestra right biw. It was stuck in my head so here i am lol. Its my afve song (other than Mystical towers) ITS SOO FUN TO PLAY as a viola!!
the lack of people in the hall describes our world, flies flock to shit, bears look for honey and find it, there are of course fewer bears…what a beautiful music
This is actually an original composition by English composer Ralph Vaughn Williams. His original piece is titled either meditations or reflections on “Daives & Lazarus.
the varsity group played this at our first concert last year and i’m so jealous I want to play but I obv cant bc its advanced and im in the lowest group
Without vocals this isn't 'Star of the County Down' but the traditional English folk tune 'Kingsfold' as used by Ralph Vaughan Williams in his 'Five Variants of Dives and Lazarus'.
Probably most of the audience is behind the person filming this. There had to be more because this is a school concert, and most of them are parents. Also, the clapping was pretty loud at the end.
A touching arrangement!!! The melody that comes in around (2:43) is the reason I fell in love with this song over 20 years ago.

There are only 5 people in attendance?

Hello! Is there a way I could get my hands on the score and parts for this arrangement? I’m a strings teacher. Thank you!!
