Hey John, I'm 13 years old. A year ago all I didn't know a thing about baking or cooking. Then I watched one of your videos and know I am the only chef in my house. Thank you❤❤❤

Why do the top comments on every single video always start with “I’m 13 years old” so often? How many 13 year olds are actually commenting “I’m 13 years old”? And just how many 13 year olds are on RUclips? And why always that exact age?

I made another batch of these today and thought of a way to prevent a mess all over my benchtop: I put the flour into one ziplock bag and the breadcrumbs into another one. I kept the eggs/milk in the half litre pyrex jug that I used to beat them together. Placed a few onion rings into the bag with the flour, zipped it shut and gave it a good shake. Then immersed the rings in the egg/milk before placing them into the ziplock bag with the breadcrumbs. It helped to speed things up since I was able to flour/crumb a few onion rings at the same time. Ziplock bags are now my best friend when it's time to make this.

Hi John, great recipe, I was taught when breadcrumbing use one hand for the dry ingredients and the other hand for the wet, that way both hands do not get all messy.

I just finished making these. My only gripe is the mess it created on my benchtop. But I must say, the mess was worth it. I omitted the 2 tablespoons of olive oil in the breadcrumbs because my gallbladder doesn't like it. (Even if I eat a healthy fat like olive oil, I feel nauseous afterwards.) Instead, I sprayed the onion rings with some Canola oil spray before I turned on the air fryer. Then sprayed them with a bit more oil after I turned them at 6 minutes. My husband loved them. They turned out very well - cheers for the recipe.

Your recipe inspired me to give chile rellenos another go. In the past, they've always come out greasy and flat. Using your onion ring instructions, they came out plump, crispy, and not greasy at all. Finally, I can enjoy one of my favorite dishes at home. Thank you!

Look really good but you shouldn't use spray oil (with propellants)in the airfrier or on non stick frying pans. It tends to carnalize and ruins the coating. Put oil in a spray bottle instead or better yet, use a paper towel to wipe on some oil.

Flipping in an air fryer when there is very little in the basket seems silly and a heat loss. They sit on a raised bed loaded with holes to allow the convection to cook both sides evenly. Shaking or flipping is only really needed if your basket is filled rather full. Cooking 5 at a time seems rather silly as well, that is a rather large amount of energy for 5. You can get counter top deep fryers that have lids and all that, easy drain valves that contain all the mess so you don't get splashed. You can then do larger batches without worry of getting pelted. I guess it comes down to something cooked in oil versus a bit of oil.
