I was a fan the day I got the first yellow cd. I was only 9 years old I went on to get green and then red. And then the band disappeared I forgot about it until now.. now it's all I've listened to for the last 4 months!
Same here. The only good stuff coming out now is from progressive rock/metal bands and a lot of that stuff is still overwrought. This album is one of those that hits a sweet spot between musicianship and listenability... if that's a word. Haha
Still one of my all-time favorites. Made me a big DOTN fan. This album in particular is so unique to me. Love the production with the background vocals, violins, and all of the rest. This is from back when studios still had money to spend on artists to give music that little extra oomph
@@miguelmelchior986it’s their choice as to be yours if wanted. The music itself creates feelings of drugs, the best ones, natural chemicals. As I said it’s their or your choice. I’m a recovering addict/alcoholic. Addiction is combo of nature and nurture. I got it genetically and choice. If it was as simple as “yes” or “no”, it wouldn’t be a billion dollar problem. Listening to this music on mushrooms opens up different doors than alcohol. Combine both, can be great or what the hell!? What’s your perspective of doing drug/s or not listening to music?
Found this only a couple of years ago, and it quickly became one of my favourites. A very special album IMO. The melodies and rhythms are really unique but still somehow utterly diggable, and the green, forest-like world it describes is amazing.
Artists come along so intensely that their craft is far beyond what anyone can fathom. Travis is that artist, but his greatness gets in his own way. Pushing away all the other great people leaving only one man trying to get out his gifts. Some call this a god complex never seeing it's bigger than that individual. The original Days of the New members made up possibly the greatest band of all time, yet Travis imploded on them eroding it from within. Tragic.
Easily one of my favorite albums all-time. Back in the day when you just bought a cd and listened to all the songs first go round, basically with your eyes closed. Then 2nd time around you look at the album insert for the lyrics.. good times
This album good. DOTN a band that opened up a door for me in 97. Their first album is amazing to me. I enjoy this one. Travis had a rough road. We all got issues to battle. Hope him and the band mates all good. Would’ve been great if they could’ve stayed together but wasn’t in the cards. Still, us fans got this great music forever they gave us. 🤘
Yesssssss ❤️ I think it was so great Travis got to do an unconventional album after the first one with the big MTV hits. That whole last part with all the trippy stuff is so great. Even if you don't do drugs it'll make you feel like you're on some! 😉 Shelter me til it's over! To steal a line from Blade Runner "The flame that burns twice as bright, burns half as long..." Thanks to some great RUclipsrs there's been some great "new" stuff leaking out from Travis. Guy is unbelievably talented.

Weapon and wound is such a masterpiece! Travis Meeks is criminally underrated and a tragic story.
Dude, I was waiting/hoping for another album throughout the 2000s. Love the track "Angry Light" though.
Another album would be nice, but at this point, I just hope he gets his shit together and survives.
His story isn’t over yet
Masterpiece indeed. The most underrated out of all the 90s musicians.
I couldn’t have said it better myself. Well done!👍🏻

Love that one
Masterpiece indeed, albums like this are all to few. To this day i love every song,
23 years today, this underrated work of art was released to the masses. Happy 23rd birthday to the Green record

@@TheScabbleGabble Yeah man. It'll always be a favorite of mine
It’s a shame Travis and the band fell apart so early. They definitely could’ve made many more major mind blowing albums together.
This album changed my life for the better.
Me too. Thank you for reminding me
I listen to this daily while working. One of my favorite albums. It puts me in the zone. Always super productive when I listen to this! Thanks!
Same here bro it’s special for sure
yyyepp.. "out of the blue, bonafide.." and there's no turning it off.
You do the drugs with it?

This album has stayed by my side in some form since it was released along with the other two but this one especially
I could listen to this album every day.
🤟🥰 top shelf stuff right here!
Easily their best album. Excellently arranged.
Great album

This is a great album.
For me "Take me back then" 24:14 is the best song on the album.
I love the outro part where the violins are playing what is basically, to my ears, a badass guitar riff
Hands down'best runningalbum.
Awesome 😊
Travis's second MASTERPIECE
Best running music
Perfect
My fav!!! 💚💚💚💚♾

He'll yeah 😊
Classic.
I wonder how many Pussycat Dolls / Nicole S fans know about this album. That is her on backing vocals when she and Travis were just college kids.
Which songs or just in general
@@rulon6064 she is all over the album
2 comments? I’m shocked, Meeks is an interesting character. Look up his appearance on intervention.
I hate that Intervention episode. It’s just so sad

Less glamorous side of celebrity addiction, indeed.
❤
O bagulho é louco e o processo é lento mas eu não paro de pensar
2024 1130 pm let's go
travis why the man like you cant make a new album for so long?
You here me boy you ani't never gunna find your way out of there so your stuck in there! 🤷
Does anyone on here know how Travis is doing as of July 2024?
Does Malone live? This is the last time I'm asking
Such a great album but that screaming mid album intro is so godawful, I wish it was gone
Nice, but all that is missing is Layne Staley
Love Layne but Travis Meeks is phenomenal in his own right.
