Honestly the thing most impressive about Yan is his ability to read his opponent after 1/2 rounds. I wasn’t sure he could download Sandhagen’s data, and he sure did.

3:32 Tbh I like the "old" way on demonstrating it on a partner and then real sparring footage way more (especially sparring part). It is one thing doing a combo in shadowboxing/ on heavybag but completely another to pull it off with correct timing on a moving/ countering target.
Also you gave tips when/how to land the combo.
Nevertheless this video was awesome and teached me a lot. I had problems with shifting into southpaw while striking. But that was because I learned never to be disbalanced/ to overthrow which is necassary here which you explained very well at 1:11. I had really a mental block here. Might be a gamechanger for me thank you!

    In my utmost humble opinion.
Truly appreciate the amount of work as well as dedicated effort to produce such high quality content for all of us to observe, learn and improve as fellow Martial Artists Mr Chan.
If it is not too much to ask, as I know getting sparring partners, gym time, camera/ shooting/ editing all is exacerbated in demand the more specific your content becomes, I can only speak for myself, but when I comes to technique specificity; I am almost likened unto an savant when it comes to the minute intricacies in terms of detailing specific techniques as well as going into overall strategy of when/ how/ why they are utilized, so to be able to observe breakdowns with an partner, and then the sparring successes/ issues ie problem solving that entails and follows, would at least for my sake, be immensely and highly appreciated to say the least.
The unorthodox footwork that mr Yan portrays is actually found in many south East as well as northern Chinese traditional Kung Fu systems, Hung Gar, Long Fist as well as Baji Chuan, all have these techniques in their curriculum, so goes to show with the proper fundamentals implemented in correlation with sound training methods, these techniques can be highly efficient and applicable when/ if applied correctly.
Always an honor to observe and learn from such an peer as yourself mr Chan.
    Sincere regards.

I really like this new format, because doing the moves myself helps me remember it much better then just watching someone else do them. But I would like you to include some music and to write the diffrent steps on the bottom of the screen, like in your follow along shadowboxing workout. Still a great video

Although I prefer the drills with a partner and sparring breakdowns, I really do enjoy the solo format....the technique is direct and clear. Great work! [Also: Double jab / lead superman / low rear kick....lands 80-90% ...its my favorite combo to close the distance. Thank you ! !]

After watching this I have just KO'd a random Brazilian after a back and forth 20 minutes. Then I went on to clocking a random red head with a spinning back fist. She did not appreciate it. I'm now set for court on the 28th. Little does the judge know he's black and is open to an illegal knee. I am now very impressed with results of watching this video.

I think both formats work fine. I know that doing it in this format is easier since you don't have to fish for footage from sparring or go into sparring to create footage of the tactics you need to demonstrate. The footage examples shown here already show its application so it works the same way as you doing it. Also, it's good to experiment with new ways of doing things.
One benefit of doing in this format is that it may be faster, meaning you can produce videos quickly, meaning you can be one of the first creators out there to make content on specific fighters after events. In the world of youtube, timing is key.
I think the only main difference will be that if you really have to flush out details that might make it easier to demonstrate with a partner. But you can also do that by analyzing videos for the viewers.
    keep up the good work!

    • @MMAShredded
      @MMAShredded  3 года назад

These are so difficult to execute, most people aren't versatile from orthodox to southpaw and vice versa like this, the sliding foot of the commited hooks and overhand requires so much mastery. Petr Yan's ability to execute these techniques with explosiveness, to fight the same orthodox to southpaw, and to be able to read and download data from his opponents and capitalize is why Petr is my fav fighter to watch and one of the pound for pound greats.

both of them work, to be honest, but watching you make the workout in real-time with ur sparring partners and how can it be applied, for me, gives u more idea of how can we execute the movements. excellent vids,

Awesome workout and breakdown like always. I enjoyed it. I need to work on my balance after the spinning backfist 😂. I feel the format you used here is great. You’ve provided many detailed formats with partners, footage, etc. in your other programs, this simple format is nice for a change. Are you planning on making these workouts like your 33 day solo program or shorter 10, 20, or 30 minute shadowboxing workouts? I’m sure your list of “Fight Like” Fighters will all be awesome. I’m guessing you are creating a new program. I hope I’m right 😎! I appreciate all you do to provide us with great content and workouts!
