    Never was a fan of Gauzy, but he completely deserved this victory. Also, I feel like those amazing tricky shots he made had its effect on XX's mind. XX always enjoys being the one who entertains the crowd, but in this game, Gauzy was the one who impressed.

    • @___Robin___
      @___Robin___ 5 лет назад +8

      I wouldn't say it was deserved.. he won at the end with a lucky net ball and to top things off he came into the game because xu xin was playing carelessly and gave a set away. It's 90% a loss of Xu Xin and 10% a win of Gauzy. I wouldn't call someone else choking the game away a deserved win. He was very lucky XX didn't finish him off and lost focus. It's more ff XX defeated himself I wouldn't call that a deserved win. A deserved win is were you dominate and your opponent can't come up with answers. This to me was more of a self destruction of xx than a win of Gauzy. You got to be real he was insanely lucky and took advantage of it. Painful loss for XX.

      @@___Robin___ Simon is definitely the underdog, he needs tricky shots and perhaps luck to win, but that is not to say that he won by random shots and pure luck without any strategy. Simon's technique was amazing, usually XX is the one who wins far off table shots but here it was Simon. I always heard excuses like "lost focus", "not in his best shape", bored by these explainations. Simon's variations did mess up XX's play style.

      @thomasli8209 5 лет назад +9

      Travelator I’m extremely happy for Simon since he’s one of my favourite players and the underdog in this match, but let’s not attribute any of the congratulatory feeling towards the fact that the final won’t be Chinese-Chinese. I understand that some people are tired of finals like that, but the final should be between two of the best players. Simon was simply the better player here, and that’s great, but a Chinese-Chinese final would have been awesome too because it’s best for table tennis to see two of the best in the tournament face-off. I hope Simon makes it to the final.

    Gauzy taking great risks with ripping backhands, strawberries , fantasy receivs(chop block chop whatvever) and keeping rallys short paid off. Also his banana placement into body or wide foerhand was excellent, which got XX into bad positions to loop and got Gauzy the chance to attack. In general XX is unbeatable in pure looping, but he was getting shaky as realised he could loose this game. 2:02 what a bh topspin from Gauzy:); 4:05 . Asian magic vs European magic of tt. This time Gauzy was better.

    Great game.I expected Xu Xin to have cakewalk. Quite the opposite.
    Simon kept the momentum going.Some of his returns were real classic.Especially backhand blocks and even away from the table returns.

    nice game. i know xu xin has a very nice backhand, although he plays penholder, but its limited in angles compared to a normal style. in the next few years he might get in trouble, as players adapting to it.
    look at simons legs this game. he looks very well in form.
