Usher has more in common with JK than maybe any other big American star. A lot of people don't know that Usher comes from the "trainee" era that used to exist here in the US. He was signed to LaFace records at age 13 and spent years training and preparing, spending part of that time living in New York with Sean Combs. His first solo album was released at age 15. Before he even turned 20 he was already touring with Janet Jackson, collecting platinum records, and scoring number ones on Billboard Hot 100.
This is the collab of the century. If anyone thinks Usher is a has-been riding JK for clout, think again. There is a reason JK gave him so much space on this "remix" (it's more like a collab to me). There is a reason he and Jimin fanboy so hard over him. He is still selling out every show. He sold out 100 nights in Las Vegas, raking in about $90 million in box-office gross sales. Just in the past 3 months. He did that in 2021, too. He is co-owner of a basketball team, he launched the popular Electrolyte drink Liquid IV, and makes millions appearing on The Voice. And the endorsements. And launching Justin Bieber's career. I'll stop here because there is just too much to say about him.

Sin embargo se que son estrategias que se utilizan para llegar a más público en este caso de otras generaciones pero al mismo tiempo pienso que fue una manera de homenajear a los artistas a los que un joven JUNGKOOK admiraba y viendolo desde ese punto de vista me siento feliz de que haya hecho su sueño realidad. I love seeing these two together, I was so happy when it came out! and even though I like the vibe of the original track the best, I can appreciate the remix/collab they did. the music video was making me fangirl. I really miss the few american performers who would dance and sing. most nowadays just sing and don't move to express themselves at ALL. I grew up as a dancer as well, so I am always fascinated to see the various moves and styles incorporated into these routines!
Also, JK and Jimin did a Michael Jackson tribute at one point. I would say they share that with Usher, their love/respect for MJ. If you ever want to react to it, that's a good video idea 💡❤ I believe it was "Black or White"?
Also, for all of the people hating on the remix, I don't understand because they were having fun and enjoying the song together. it's super clear in the Usher version of the MV. It was wholesome

Not that Usher is someone to *sneeze* at, but personally I'm not onboard with multi remixes ~ that's just me (didn't mind the JT version .. but let's leave doing any further _revisions_ ) Kookie's release is *baaaaad enough* for me 💯⭐👌😎

What I lerve about you R. It's about the quality of the music or artwork and not the names or the fame. They both stand alone just fine. One doesn't need the other ( which is what most media is not getting). Now, if the piece of music together can bring out more colors and nuances to the performance than hell yeah. For nostalgia b/c I love both JT and Usher's work, I didn't eyeroll or pause when I heard it was coming. Great work ethic and talent. They pay attention to detail, which is lacking in alot of western and brought me into K productions. I agree in that these remixes were more what I'd expect if JK was performing at an awards show and out comes JT and Usher to add that sprinkle to make the performance more than just watching the video. The crowd goes wild, the past, present, and future come together. You know the shtick. I think we'll see they don't bump the sales. As a fan of all 3, I wouldn't purchase all 3. JK's version is solid for purchase. Now with tours and projects announced by JT and Usher the exposure to genz and their support and respect for JK may see that bump from Army fans. Not the reason they did it at all. Just an opinion from a Machiavellian. One thing next year the military better give JK leave to have that performance w/ them at the Grammys. Give all 6 leave to Join Jin. That happens and they are not at least in the audience would suck more than THAT Grammy performance of butter and the award goes to Doja Cat. Don't get me wrong love Doja Cat but come on it wrote itself. Probably last time together, they have a concert in the states, a level of performance difficulty they haven't seen since Pink's Glitter in the Air...it wrote itself. Hollywood Cinderella story could have been theirs to host. Idiots.

Loved this remix. So good. Great vocals. BTS called out Usher in Butter. Jimin is a huge fan. Usher liked Butter too. We been waiting for this collab since Butter. So happy. I bet Jimin is jelly. Usher's vocals are always on point, and this is no exception. However, calling it a remix is just weird.
remixes nowadays are just about adding artists. They rarely change the production anymore
Honestly I like the original better for this song. That being said I would not mind a JK/Usher dance choreo MV of this at all.

Hi Roscoe, I am with you on this. I grew up with Usher, the first R&B artist to win my heart. This remix was too much! I felt lost as if I was listening to 2 different songs crowding each other. Some times less is more. While I agree that the lyrics was simple but it was unnecessarily too much. The original was way more better. I feel like some would like Usher to take over and call it Usher's song, to each their own. But it is perfect the way it was. I am old school, 58yrs old, an ARMY and a former DJ. I live through all the different eras of music and love love all kinds of music. This re-mix confused me a bit. Just my thoughts.
I didn’t care for this remix. It just sounded awkward to me. Especially when Usher does the high “they” and then drops back down to the “can’t divide us…” at 3:04. And then his adlibs kinda just overpowered JK towards the end.
The 3D remix is my favorite with JT. I think it had a good balance of JK & JT and the harmonies at the end were great 👍

I'm going to be honest I couldn't tell the difference between Usher and JK. They sounded to similar.
For me, as an ARMY, I can tell the difference really, armys usually know the distinction of the singing voice of our 7 precious boys even without looking, just by listening we know who’s singing, JT sounded more like Jk, but I can still spot the difference 😊😊
I love Usher but I really didn't care for this remix either maybe because the original is sooooo good it doesn't need a remix on it. I really did like JT's remix with JK but not Usher's
I like the first part of usher part... But I think both of their voice are all over the place toward the end...
i like usher and he did fantastic but the remix took away some of my favorite parts of the song which are sun and moon and bass and drums

😂Okay thanks for that, just my thoughts when I heard it ! That doesn’t mean it’s bad, Usher has got a great voice and together with JK it’s absolutely amazing, but I have the feeling they hadn’t got enough time for more and this is more an icing on a cake before JK entlists. We all know that JT and Usher are two of his favourite artists and with this global success there has to be remix. And yes the remix of 3D is very good, this “remix” too, I hope JK had fun and I’m glad he get the reputation he deserves!

I love Usher & Jungkook but I think this could've been done better. I think Usher was given too much within the background vocals... I would love to see the pair dance this together though, both are amazing dancers.
No I like that Usher was given the back verses cos it really gives a proper Usher Input. JK was still singing his Adlibs in the background. But yes I would like to see the remix performance now

After another listen, I think maybe the background vocals are too loud which might emphasis Usher's voice. Not sure but I still like this remix as I've been a fan of Usher for many years. :)

This does not imply anything other than Jungkook's brilliance is world known and he's that good that people just want to work with him. It is great Usher agree to the remix after he was asked for a collaboration as he is one of their faves and was mentioned in their song “BUTTER”. Also, Jungkook and Usher are brilliance and world known for their craft and any artist would love to work with either one of them.
This was a no for me. JK loves Usher so fully understand why they did it. I can see them doing well on a song together but it would have to be written for them. This was not the one for them. Them dancing together on Ushers song was fun though.

It’s like two different but similar versions altogether - original and Usher. I don’t dislike it, but better continuity and more change-up would have been my preference. A bit bland IMO.
I liked Usher's verse and the harmonies but i think some of Usher's ad libs were a bit much; some parts seem too busy AND that really loud woooo toward the end just took me out of the instrumental groove. It's good but there's nothing like the original. 💜
That "woo" fit right in the pocket of the groove. It only took you out because you weren't expecting it. And for a remix, the amount of adlibs make sense. You don't bring on an artist like Usher just to sing a verse and leave the song. You let them feel the music and do what they do best. You gotta really appreciate R&B singing to understand that.

And, yes, because I wasn't expecting the crescendoed "wooo" it pulled me out of the groove a bit; just my opinion. But it doesn't mean I don't appreciate R&B and it doesn't mean I don't like the song. A few more listens and I'll probably get used to it; but I stand firm that there's nothing like the original.

There’s nothing else going on so might as well add some vocal flair and he delivered. It’s a remix so it’s going to have more flourishes than the original. I’d much rather have a singer like Usher sing adlibs than just do one verse and be left wanting to hear more. It’s fine if you like the original but it’s weird to complain about a remix doing what remixes do and that’s replacing the original parts haha.

I LOVE Usher, I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE JK. I would love to see them do a collab - this wasn't the song for it. The original was SO FIRE that it didn't need anything or anyone - I prefer it with just JK - this one just doesn't flow. They need to do one where it's planned from the beginning and suited to their talents. The TikTok of the two of them dancing together was worth it tho - we need a whole video of THAT!!!

@@rapmonxbae7232 I don't hate anyone...he's just not my taste. To be honest it's what makes the world a better place, there is something for everyone. As an older person I find it hard to like a lot of the modern stuff but it's just a matter of taste....with BTS and its catalogue of music as of yet its all been to my taste. I've liked a lot of their collaborations too...for instance J-Hope and C.Cole. So I don't hate at all. We all enjoy what we like and so please don't confuse a matter of taste in music with hate...🤗💜
I agree with you a 1000 percent! This version was just not special comma I think usher can't stand up next to Jung Kook. His verse was boring and predictable and I just didn't care for it. I thought his ad-libs were over the top and took away from Jung Kook and I didn't think that was respectful. In the end, it is still Kookie's song and not Ushers. I like the original a million times better. This one was muddied with all the extra stuff that they put in it to try to cover up the fact that Usher doesn't sing as well as Jung Kook. The original is crisp and sharp because JK doesn't need anything. He's perfect with just his normal, natural voice.
THIS!! it was almost like Usher had something to prove putting THAT much onto the track - it muddled perfection and that was my reaction too, it felt disrespectful. Just keep telling myself the boys are so gracious and I'm sure JK is thrilled with the remix...
