White color will give the best light reflection, accents in grey, industrial reds, blues, orange, green look good in a shop, anyplace you need light, paint it white.
Great video. I was wondering if you have the dimensions for the enclosure. I have limited space in height for where I want to put the CNC so I wanted to see what is the minimum enclosure height I would need. Thanks!
Can you please share your experience after one year: how much did the enclosure help with the sound? Can your neighbors still hear the router? And what about heat im the summer? Did those motors have any problems while being inside the enclosure? Thank you!
Hey, The enclose is definitely a good idea. I would hate using the CNC without it. without it, the router would be so loud and dust would be flying around the room. To improve dust collection, I drilled a 50mm hole on the top so I had air flow into the enclosure, otherwise it can act like a vacuum and ruin your extractor (It need constant air coming in). I haven't had any issues with the router over heating.
I would personally do 2 colors. Grey for bottom and leave the "natural" wood color for top. You could go with black to match the wall too. Thanks for sharing. We're in the market for a cnc as well so thank you as well for your input on this particular one. There's a few other woodworkers I follow that have chosen this exact same cnc in the last week 🤔. Must be something about it that is catching the attention of ppl.
Hey Janie, Yeah I think a contrast would look great! Thanks for the suggestion! ahah Yeah I think it's the one to get at the moment. there is a bit of wait list though, so I'd get in quick if you were interested!
Hey there nice work with the enclosure. Im in the process of building an enclosure for my Onefinity elite Journeyman. Wait time is gonna be a few months so I have some time to plan the layout. Can I ask what dimensions you went with for the table top enclosure and if you were to redo it again, would you change anything?
Great idea, I would however change it up a bit and make the casing easier to remove so I could maintain dust build up a bit easier. Other than that, awesome idea, ill probably use it once I purchase a cnc
I received my Onefinity a little over a year ago and absolutely love it. Your enclosure is awesome and I may eventually do that to mine. I built my table where the surface will hinge in the middle to drop down and create a vertical surface to mount things to. ( I'll turn a vase on the lathe then mount it on the vertical surface and engrave my logo on the bottom of the vase.) I also use a spindle which is extremely quiet.
Yeah I agree, I think it is a great CNC! The Vase project sounds awesome! I've seen theses spindles, they look like a great investment! Where did you get your's from?
@@SeanEvelegh I bought mine from Amazon. Its a Huanyang which is a recommended combination. I've used a 110v 1.5kw 64mm spindle for the past year and recently upgraded to an 80mm 2.2kw spindle. Mostly just so I can use 1/2 inch shank bits. I've been extremely happy with the spindles.
I like those portable lite work tables you used outside to cut the plywood. Can you post a link to them ? I’m going to build the same exact enclosure for my CNC
Amazing work! I’m a CNC fan! And really like this Infinity one! I though of buying one but the customs and import costs scared me off... how did that go for you?
I've had mine for nearly a year. I don't know where you guys are from. I live in the Pacific Northwest of the USA and there were no customs or anything like that. I can't speak for other CNCs. But this one is made incredibly well and the limited issues I've had have all been my fault. But the customer support has been completely well supportive. Surprisingly fast to get a response and results . The machine itself is a little bit more expensive than similar alternatives but I think it was worth every penny to invest in a little bit more expensive machine. My biggest complaint after using it for a year or so is the software on the desktop It's fine but I think there's a couple things I would like to change on. It's expensive to run and utilize to its full potential. And maybe it's just me speaking but if it was something for just a hobby it would be harder to pull the trigger on but still be really cool. But I've managed to make a nearly full-time business because of it.
Great build & im looking forward to my Journeyman to arrive in a few months. Did you happen test the sound of your machine w/ out the enclosure and then with it? I’m interested in knowing the difference
Using a computer isn't woodworking though. There's no way around that. It's clever, it's useful, it can help you do things you otherwise would need years of practice to be good at, but it's not woodworking.
I respectfully disagree, it's as simple as if you are working with wood, it is woodworking. There are lots of different techniques out there and it's ok if you work with wood in a different way. I've had 10 years of practice in woodworking and I didn't get a CNC to cheat.
Paint everyting you can in white. You get older and need all you the light as possible. Especially when you use protection goggles. I have a X-carve and it takes all the light. A 40 year old person need dubble so much light than an 20 year old.
Sean, check out the YT channel of Marius Hornberger in Germany. He’s a brilliant young many like you who builds innovative designs and has awesome programming knowledge.
Thanks for this very clear video!

Cheers mate! Glad you liked the video!
CONGRATS! Looking good Sean!! Best of luck, can't wait to see what you will be able to cut.
Awesome job!!! 💪
Paint the interior white. Helps with illumination. The outside? Blue, yellow, green and magenta!
I can't wait to see how you incorporate the CNC into your work-flow.
Thanks Andy! Yeah me too, I already got lots of ideas for jigs, template, inlays and flat pack furniture I can make with it!

looking to buy this myself. do you have to buy your own spindle with this? is there a touch probe for zeroing out before cut? how is customer support?
what dimensions did you use?

With regard to the “color”, My preference would be a “light” stain or clear oil finish…..My 2cents worth. 😁
Hey Tom! Thanks for that 👌🏻
Do you have a list of dimensions you used?
I like those portable lite work tables you used outside to cut the plywood. Can you post a link to them ? I’m going to build the same exact enclosure for my CNC
Thanks for watching mate! They’re called the bora centipede

Awesome. Thanks
Nice work, I would have used the acrylic on the top panel as well to allow more light in though 😉
Nice work Sean! If I may ask what inside enclosure dimensions did you decide on? Are you happy with that size? Thanks in advance! -Mike
Did your order direct from overseas? Or is there somewhere through a UK importer?
I order direct overseas. And yes the delivery was very expensive…. But in my opinion totally worth it!
Can you post the plans to this project. I ordered the same onefinifty, and am looking to build a similar bench. Thanks
Great job but whats up with the wires? I hope you fix that.
Amazing work! I’m a CNC fan! And really like this Infinity one! I though of buying one but the customs and import costs scared me off... how did that go for you?
Hey Henrique! Yeah import tax was a lot, but to be honest it is well worth it, The CNC is such high quality!

Yep

@@SeanEvelegh thank you for the quick reply & again great build!
@@GyWO10 No probs, thanks a lot!
How long did it take for the infinity to come from when you placed the order?
Around one month
Hi Sean did you make a CNC update video on your patreon? Am biting the bullet like you and want a CNC lol
Hey Dylan, no I haven't made one. But honestly I 100% recommend the onefinity! Best CNC for the price! built like a tank, you won't regret it!
