    Ten years gone:
    Blue 6:52
    P12Q 34:49
I have a wine and wheat deluxe reverb with the P12Q. It is MUCH quieter than an alnico blue. It is modeled off of the vintage fender P12Q, but the speaker sensitivity is only 94.4dB, which is one of the reasons I bought it, because it ISN’T as loud as the blue or stock C12K DRRI speaker. An alnico blue has a sensitivity of 100dB by comparison which is pretty loud. You can get nice cleans out of a P12Q but at lower volumes as it wants to break up much sooner than a Blue or most other speakers based upon its sensitivity, which is what I preferred. Clean screamers like old JBLs, or things like WGS ETS speakers are nice for certain sounds, and loudness, but for home or mic’d use, I find the P12Q more versatile as it can play cleans up to 4, then break up from there into more and more tube overdrive without really getting any louder past 7. As a reference to this video, and you seeking cleans, it would be more accurate to actually turn the volume down with the P12Q for less speaker break up…perhaps 4 or 5, to make it more proportional to the Blue, which is where the sensitivity of the P12Q comes in. The P12Q does have a decent break in time, and gets “glassier” over time. I believe Jensen said somewhere around 100 hours. It’s definitely a shimmery and a very layered sounding speaker, much like stages of flavor with wine. Ironically, my wine and wheat deluxe reverb was also called the “Bordeaux blues” edition, and the speaker really fits the blues and jazz sound, especially with touch sensitivity at the edge of breakup to go from soft cleans to crispy breakup on the fly of your pick/finger.

Exactly. I think the Celestion Blues can be a bit too much for a small apartment setting and the Jensen's are more tamer sounding in comparison

Jensen all they way for me! I'm not too fond of the Celsetions. I have the Greenback and V30 and cant stand them! I however love my Jensen Blackbird 100 and P12R. Also, my Mojotone Anthem 12 is a very fine speaker. Jensen has very musical speakers

Any chance you can try these two speakers in a Vox AC30?
