this was a very very informative video! i have been in the market for a new car for a couple months and test drove the ZST Vibe yesterday, I was very in love with the drive of the car, i was looking at the Core but had to drive the Vibe as they didn't have any Cores for test driving but this car is amazing and so i have purchased it!! i pick it up in May and can not wait, I have watched this video when i first started researching MG and will rewatch it over and over for the next few months till i pick up my car so i can learn all the features of it. Fantastic video, professional and to the point. I test drove the ZST yesterday - do you have any thoughts on the CVT (core/vibe) transmission? It was a very different driving experience compared to the traditional auto transmission in the 1.3L models. I guess it's something you might get used to over time.
I really like this CVT. It is smooth comfortable. More than enough for what most people need for aroundgrown trips. There is no doubt the 1.3 turbo with 6 speed auto is better. It always comes down to the budget for everyone

Thanks for the comment Jonathan. The "star" button takes you to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto screen in the default setting. You can change and get it to take you to "Car" or "home" in the "car setting". Check 26:32 in this video.

A couple of questions - when you’re driving what lights are on automatically, just the led ones or the sidelights too? Also is the parking brake automatic? Mine doesn’t seem to come on unless I manually engage it. Thank you very much.
Great video! What would be nice is a video that explains all the acoustic signals the car (ZST in my case) gives you. When driving around, the car makes random dings and pings and beeps, and I have no idea why... 😁 And HOW do you get that speed warning guy to SHUT UP. "Speed limit exceeded. Please slow down " when going 2 km too fast. And oh, how do you update the GPS maps system???
Thanks for the comment. The speed limit warning can be disabled in the Navigation setting menu. Check my full navigation guide video on my channel. The map update can be done by yourself. You can ask your local dealer to send the guidance or I can email you the guidance.
Great video, What’s the difference on the lights on the start stop? So there is orange and green? As sometimes mine has trouble starting , should I be pressing it till it gets green then long press to get it started ?
So on the engine start button, below the “start” icon, there is two lights. Think when the engine is turned on it’s always green - but can also be orange / green when the electrics are only on
very good video, When i start the car, the parking light indicator shows on always also the headlight and daytime running light on. Not only daytime light. is this default or any issues?
@@JerryPanandCars not yet, going next week first service. Also have another small issues , driverside bacdoor open central consol shows indication both back door open too. Will see
@@JerryPanandCars first time they told its default , after i shows to same model demo cars, they accepted the issue and replaced light sensor and solved. But still the car is in workshop regards fix the blind spot indicater issues, changed many parts (including mirror), update software, the issue still there, not yet resolved.
i asked the dealer just today in australia and he replied its 5 star ANCAP certified but obviously i want to confirm i am after ZST core i already gave them an advance money but i am still confused if i buy this vehicle because this will be my first new car so need a guidance please
Hello Jerry Love your channel and info, a few Quick question for you please? Do you have a video of the 2022 MG ZST Vibe auto wipers actually working and adjusting, (speed and increased water/rain)? Can I also confirm what settings to be set on (The manual page 47, indicates to set the wiper stick to be on intermittent?). My auto wipers do not seem to work, the dealer and I cannot determine the issue, intermittent works but not auto wiping. Thanks for your time
All the ZST Vibe or above spec should work. I don’t know how your dealership cannot determine the issue. It either work or doesn’t work. If it doesn’t, there will be issue they can check through.

Hi Jerry, Loved this video. So helpful! I just purchased my MG ZST (Australia) last month. With regards to the Speed Assist System, if you chose SLIF, should it keep that setting in its memory? I'm finding I have to turn it on to SLIF every time I start the car? I am not using the cruise control so I thought it should be keeping the settings. All other settings are held, except that one. Would appreciate your thoughts.

I have a 2021 MG ZST VIBE purchased in July 2021. I just did a factory reset and it has gone back to a display of mph instead of km - is this easily fixed as it is quite annoying?
Hi Kerry, you have to go back to the dealership for fixing this. They can do a software update for you. It has happened on only one customer during my 2 years experience but you are unlucky on this.

Hi Jerry, I watched most of your MG videos hence I bought an MG two months ago. But it is in Indonesia and the model is a 5 GT, it is manufactured in Thailand and it seems it is not available in New Zealand. Unfortunately the carvhas software issues from day 1. The 5 GT has a 1.5l engine without turbocharger and a 8-CVT-gearbox. Now my question. Recently I engaged the Cruise Control and set it to 100km/h. The highway was sloping downhill and speed was at 104 km/h which is fine, I guess. But irrating was when the road went uphill and the cruise control accelerator the car only once the speed dropped to 88 km/h. My dealer gold me today this is normal and in general cruise control cannot be used on more hilly roads. Do you have any experience with this? With all my previous non-MG cars I never has this experience. Sorry taking up your time, take care, regards from Indonesia and be blessed
Thanks for your support. The cruise control thing you mentioned has happened to me as well and I don't think it is an issue or problem. The cruise control can only get to your set speed if the road is flat and clear. It is hard for it to 100% maintain your set speed if it is on hilly roads up and down. While climbing up, it will try to reach 100kph but it cannot guarantee that it will maintain 100kph every second. Another thing is, if the cruise control is faulty, it will not work at all. Going up and down a bit on speed won't mean it is faulty.

@@JerryPanandCars I can’t make it works automatically. It works intermittently and I can only adjust the speed. In another words, when it is not raining, it works at the selected speed and when it heavily raining, it works in the same way…
@@diegojzubielqui8965 have you purchased the vehicle recently? As some cars are affected by the software update error. Auto lights and auto wiper don't work unfortunately. Check if your auto lights are working or not? Does the low beam main light come on all the time?
@@diegojzubielqui8965 unfortunately that is the problem for some my sold cars too. There is no fixing from MG NZ at this stage. We have to wait for the update. Please make sure and tell your dealer about this. Ask them to contact you when there is an update.

The reason I ask about the sidelights is because the sidelights green light is always illuminated when I’m driving.
side light may be related to auto headlight issues. check with the dealer.

It looks like an issue with the light sensors. Have to be checked by MG workshop

can you turn the reading lights on when the car is off? mine doesnt seem to let me but not sure if this is a function that can be changed thanks! :)
You can for a small amount of time but it will drain your 12v battery. Just press the light button on the top.
just a quick question before i buy is this MG ZST CORE model is ANCAP certified or not ?
The lower spec MG ZS Excite has 4 star but it misses all the safety features. The ZST should be 5 star or at least 4 start.

The fuel average you are getting from the car city and highway you have manual or automatic
The combined fuel consumption is about 6.9L/100km. City around 8L and highway around 6L. It comes down to how you drive though.

Unfortunately RUclips video is not allowed on Android auto or apple carplay. It is not safe to do that. You can play RUclips music only.

Hi Savannah, in the centre radio screen, select SETUP then you can see the Time&Date on the left. That will allow you to manually adjust everything.
