That was always my favorite path. I'm a bounty hunter main, but playing alight side sith who taps into their emotion while remaining in control of it, is a very cool play through. Everyone is shocked and it really highlights the 'evil' of the old Jedi path (Luke's order changed that). I also like the feel of the combat around their style. It feels like 'rage unleashed'.
Probably the second best class story behind the imperial agent.

Playing a light side sith is imo, the best way to play the game. How I did it was having a generally dark side sith who treats those beneath him fairly well, before fully accepting the light side on Tatooine when you go into the force cave. You get more focus on the tragedy of the sith via literally everyone being surprised at you being a semi-decent human being (or whichever species you picked), you get not only to pick apart the sith for their general shittiness but also the Jedi for their general closed-mindedness (like, twice in the just the first chapter, you drive a jedi mad by not immediately trying to kill them, even goading one by living up to the Jedi Code better than they are iirc). On top of all of that, you get a much better narrative contrast against Baras.

All classes have something that throws you out of the loop for them to be interesting:
-Sith warrior: Playing lightside is hilarious both in a comical way and philophical way
-Sith inquisitor: the story that you get and the implications of all the characters that you meet(i am looking at your ghost of Kallig), For Inquisitor all the names and character bring stuff from the KOTOR and the legacy of those characters
-Bounty hunter: Joining Mandalore and how your character changes his responses to anything related to Mandalorian Culture(including the Mandalore chapter in KOTFE and the 7.2 planet)
-Agent: Playing Loyalist, Playing Double Agent, Playing Hand of Jadus

For me the Sith Warrior storyline is the best due to being consistent. You meet Baras at your training, and through the 3 Acts he will become your nemesis. The entire story shows this relationship. For all the other classes, their nemeses only appear in later Acts.
As for the Inquisitor, their story felt like you were always helped by others around you. Zash was partial to you due to having visions of you. You could only get the Deshade due to being given extra information the other candidates didn't have. You could only defeat the Deshade due to it being severly weakened. You could only survive Zash' betrayal due to the Deshade bound to you. You could only survive Thanaton's trial due to having a ghost of your ancestor teach you stuff. Zash' former apprentices, Rakata Mother, random Moffs out of nowhere, every time someone appeared to save your ass.

I think that's part of the class fantasy, though. Sith Inquisitor is literally just that. They are an Inquisitor, searching for hidden, forbidden knowledge and manipulating others to enhance their power and destroy their foes. Sith Warriors don't care about that, they just want to foster inner strength and power within themselves by any means necessary. It's a cool dichotomy.

    • @Theinen84
      @Theinen84 Год назад +3

@@__jojo__well... I agree on the non-Force classes, but not the other two. Consular is the one that saved the Republic, not the Knight. Consular turned the tides of war and held massive influence, and was even commanding, over half of the Republic's forces. The Consular is also the one that weakened Vitiate the most in order for the Knight to face him. They took out all of the Children, either by killing them, sending a Shockwave through the Force to him, or by severing them from him, locking off huge chunks of his power. Kotxx is something the Consular has sorta already done. Not to mention they're a massive powerhouse, performing feats we don't see repeated until Vaylin shows up, like ripping through blast doors with a single Force Push. They're also the only one that starts off OP, story wise, and actually becomes weaker, yet does all of those amazing things. The First Son had a ridiculous amount of Vitiate's power. That was the primary back up avatar.
Inquisitor is heir to a lost bloodline, and even on first awakening is so powerful that just grasping a Force conduit (their lightsaber), was enough to send ripples through the Force to affect the ghosts of ancient Sith Lords on another planet, already shrouded by the Emperor's power. They possess a rare ability that Vitiate doesn't have, that opened a path to immortality even better than his own. Inquisitor dies and can get right back up. Vitiate needs to find another body, and that could take years, or needs massive amounts of death to feed off and recover quicker. He's not able to Forcewalk. His form of immortality comes at a greater price as well. Inquisitor wasn't weak, just lacked the experience and knowledge the Lords and Darths had that targeted them. Zach also wasn't teaching them, really, Kallig was their true master. The Inquisitor also remade their very body, first becoming immune to poisons, toxins and even radiation, then even remaking their very body to be superior, in every way, and able to contain unnatural levels of power. Add into that, they also have machines and arrays that can increase their life span. They even climbed to the top of the Empire without his influence. They made themselves, while the other three Force classes became what they were by being attached to Vitiate in some way. The Inquisitor is a very real threat to Vitiate by being able to bind him as well (and stupid that we don't even get an option to try and they say it failed because he's too strong or something). Inquistor's actions in the Dark Temple also created ripples that disrupted the ritual Vitiate was doing and weakened him further for the Knight.
It honestly makes more sense for Vitiate to go for Inquisitor > Consular > Knight >>> Warrior to me.
Warrior was fun and all but they weren't the real Wrath. That was Scourge. He built up the rep. Warrior just reaped benefits and seemed like a choice of convenience. Someone needed to stop Baras, they were in a position, and had motive, to do so. The Hand even reprimanded them from takin action on their own or using the name of Wrath without permission. Scourge spoke directly with the Emperor, we did not.
With what we know of Vitiate, how meticulous he is and all, the prophecy surrounding the Knight, Scourge's betrayal and all, I can see him trying to go for the Knight, but not like that. The Battlemaster had already broken his control once before, and defeated him in a duel. He wouldn't try the same thing again, especially when his existence actually depended on it.
But the Warrior being the Wrath is so overhyped. We don't get the immortality, power boost, seat of power, nothing. We only got the name. Vitiate never really saw us as his Wrath.

@@Theinen84 Completely disagree on you undermining the Knight here, the Consular did do all of that stuff but you seem to be a bit biased as someone who would main that class. Corellia is something any class can do, so not all of Consular's feats are theirs. On top of that while yes consular did soften the emperor for the knight, it was still prophecied for the knight to stop the emperor and at the end of the day defeating the emperor is a more impressive feat than any of the singular children. Knights and Warriors also do similar feats like the blast door one(Warrior for example not only opens a blast door with the force and with relative ease, they do it while a jedi is on the other side trying to keep it closed, and this is right after the tutorial planet). And while the consular was more of a strategist commanding the republic forces, Knight was a precision powerhouse that went around singlehandedly changing the fates of planets, or soloing entire warships and so on. Consular is a strategist while Knight was the crown jewel of the jedi that was deployed for the highest stakes missions and also commanded the republic on a ground level often. The knight also happens to have the highest amount of defeats/kills on Sith lords compared to any other class. This is not to undermine the Consular effort's but rather say that you cant compare these two archetypes with each other and conclude that one is the "actual reason why the republic was saved". The consular is more of a bigger picture strategist while the knight is the proverbial sword that takes out the strongest threats.
JK probably never defeats vitiate if the children werent removed, and Consular's efforts mean nothing if there was nobody powerful enough to defeat the emperor after the fact.
As for who the Emperor would go after, its obviously the Knight first, then the Consular and Warrior and Inq. It's not about "importance/power", even though we just established that both are different types of power and aren't directly comparable. The emperor has a connection with the knight, they have a rivalry, they hate each other and the emperor thinks of the knight as his prodigal successor. They are diametrical oppositions of each other in the story. The Emperor is not an utilitarian creature, he loves poetic irony. He would love nothing more than to keep haunting his supposed "killer". It's sort of like Harry Potter and Voldemort, sure you may argue Hermione was the better wizard but he doesnt really care about her in that way. The knight is the prophecied hero who defeats the emperor and the emperor wants to beat fate itself.

    • @Theinen84
      @Theinen84 11 дней назад

@@apollyon4761 that wasn't a blast door. That was a regular security door. A blast door is a reinforced door that not even a lightsaber can cut through. No other class did this. The First Son was equivalent to the Voice, which the Knight fought. Even if you want to keep it vanilla, and say it was the Emperor, it was the Emperor after being weakened from the death of the most powerful Children(only difference between the Voice and Children is he allows them to retain their will in his absence). The Emperor was also weakened from both Kalligs and their shenanigans in the Dark Temple, Zash to a lesser extent. Scourge straight up says it, if you know the details of the Inquisitor's story that he hints at. Then the Wrath fought the true Voice, the one he'd been in since treaty had been signed, and it had the power of a planet wide Dark Side aspect added to it.
The irony is YOU are speaking as someone just trying to speak up for their main. Funny enough, I prefer either Sith Story, but mainly Inquisitor. I don't even have to reread this to know everything I pointed out wasn't from planetary stories, but class stories. So no. The Consular's feats I listed were their own. Just because the Knight was prophesied to win doesn't mean they were the most powerful. It just means the Force would make a way for that person, in particular, to achieve the result. That has literally always been the case. Luke wasn't more powerful than Vader. Vader wasn't more powerful than Palpatine. Vader didn't bring balance in a heroic way. Hell, Jolee Bindo even makes a point of prophecies in KotOR1. Some kid had a great destiny and was prophecies to bring down some great villain. They all get together for the fated battle and the villain laid waste to all of them, easily. Then the dumb kid fell and got killed in a vent or something which brought down the ship, causing the villain's end.
The Knight was just in the right place, at the right time. Hell, both Scourge and Shatele were still more powerful than them at that point, along with a lot of other key characters like Malgus.
It's not speculation. They literally wrote the stories to interact and lead to the original KotOR3 ending. It's just that fanboys started fanboying and ran away with it.

@@Theinen84 JK is not my main, sith warrior is. Half the things you said are quite asinine tbh, What I said was, the "voice" or the emperor that the JK defeats by itself even in his weakened state is stronger than any singular child, including the first son. That's pretty undeniable. Jolee's quip on prophecy is pointing out that not every prophecy is exactly as it seems. In this case, "killing" the emperor was not cut and dry. The JK does not luck his way into killing the emperor. He beats him in a duel. Satele being stronger than the Knight is even more laughable because she herself calls the Knight the most powerful jedi in the galaxy or something to that effect, and she was definitely including herself. You beat scourge in a duel(yes he was holding back but he couldnt not actually try to beat the knight lest the emperor suspect him, also he was definitely looking forward to dueling them) and that was before you grow much stronger in the final chapter.
The consular is supposed to be the wise scholar who deals with sealing force artifacts and eventually leads republic forces. They are not some unstoppable powerhouse. The JK is expressly written to be the focal point of the Jedi's combat forces. I was not using planet stories outside of the corellia example and that was only to point out that one of the consular class's major class story feats is something any pub side class can do. Things like routinely soloing a warship is based on the class story.
Devaluing the Knight's feats because the story needed to weaken the emperor to make someone they gave too much plot armour to is even dumber, cause at that point I would consider the inquisitor quite a weakling due to the sheer amount of teams they need to be saved and get handed their power boosts in that story.
I dont understand why you feel the need to be contrarian about such a simple cut and dry affair and say it makes more sense for the emperor to inhabit someone like the consular who is *not* the direct parallel of the emperor in the story, unlike the Knight.

There is a dynamic choice for the SW to be, a restrained warrior (light side) or an honorable warrior, (neutral) or a murderous lunatic (dark side) I personally chose Honorable Warrior (mainly neutral) There are times when the SW does consider his ways, one being on Tatooine and facing his reflection depending on your light/dark side points. As well as the difference between dark side and light side choices. Especially in the warrior class and the imperial agent stories the impact on what's happening around you is very visible. If you go full Light side for Sith Warrior (it is not canon in terms of further expansion's plot but nevertheless) both for yourself and Jaesa - you will be a unconventional Sith, who is not afraid to lean into Light side of the Force, or something like that. And romantic options with Light side Jaesa would result in marrying her and having children.
Also, I think the whole point of Sith Empire in SWTOR - is that they are not an inherent evil, as in movies. Here, Sith Empire is portrayed as rather cruel and violent, but still a state that involves every kinds of people, and who willingly work on building the better future for the whole Empire. It is very prominent in low-level quests on Dromund Kaas.
And we also meet many Sith who are not just evil douchebags all the time:
    - Lana Beniko was a Sith, but she is kinda neutral in terms of ideologies or morals.
    - As a Jedi Knight - you will meet previous Emperor's Wrath, Scourge, and turn him in Light side of the Force.
    - As a Jedi Seer - you will also have some quests that involve turning some Sith to Light side.
    - If you go Light side as Sith Inquisitor - you will also be quite a reasonable Sith that will study how to summon Force ghosts to your aid, and also get involved in some Non-aligned Force usage for healing of your mind.
    - Many quests of Imperial Trooper, and Imperial Agent involve interacting with different Siths, who have the ultimate superiority over anyone in the military of Empire. So you will be at a constant disadvantage, but still able to reason and work together with some Sith Lords.
    - Darth Marr - is the ultimate badass, and very commendable in his morals, as for a Sith with such high rank. His main goal - is to ensure Sith Empire to continue thriwing. So he does not always seek conflict for the sake of conflict - he was the main military commander in the period of Galactic Cold War (it starts right after game's introduction cinematic "Deceived" and ends thorough progressing in game plot). He was always respectful of enemies because of their conviction to their ideals. He is also one of the few known Siths able to manifest as Force Ghost after his demise. He will eventually hang out with Satele Shan on some far planet, and learn Light side of the Force with her or smth.

Loved the video but the last point you made, I disagree. I would say that vengeful slam in the vengeance spec for juggernaut is the sith warrior's version of force storm. Extremely satisfying animation and sound effect, and with the cut to pieces tactical you can potentially spam it and it makes all the good chemicals in your brain light up

Sith warrior is the best class to play again as a different alignment. Jaesa's story is completely different depending on light or dark. If you do play again I recommend playing a marauder, it's much faster than the juggernaut.

excellent video^^ I might be motivated to actually write a Sith marauder as a fic within the context of the sith warrior story.
I agreed with most of your assesment such as the theme, struggle and emptiness of the Sith philosophy. I think just as a matter of pay-off for the reader, it would be a tough sell to have the Sith warrior be stripped of power after all his hard work, unless you really want to drive home the emptiness.
Maybe you could have the Sith warrior comment on that in some way. Like he knows what awaits him at the end of the path he has taken. The tone sort of reminds me of the tragedy of Michael Corleone when it comes to that particular ending. But I think the Sith warrior also has a lot of room for character development in both positive and negative directions.
Perhaps the Sith warrior (as I felt like it was in the story) rest a bit too much on the title of Emperor's wrath after he's finally defeated Baras. Maybe that would be a good slap of reality if the dark council tries to dispose of him as he poses a threat to them.
If you have any ideas, feel free to shoot some at me. I'd already have a rough idea how I would write the Sith warrior's personality.^^ Anyway keep up the good work. (And sorry for the wall of text)

SW is my favorite class. Not only because i always like to play melee characters, but i just like the story and the whole wrath of the emperor/empire thing. You can really go through the story like a psychopath. For a game looking more like a comic than anything else there are quite a few really dark themes in it. Just think about how many inocent you can kill in horrible ways. That's how sith should be portrayed and not many rpgs or mmos let you do that.
And playing a marauder is just plain fun. At least for classical MMO gameplay like in SWTOR. Jumping around and swinging two lightsabers like a mad man - i love it.

I ended the main story line with my sith warrior today. I had a lightly different aproach to it. For the first few hours I was this big evil guy, being evil for evil's sake. BUT for myself I reached the point to turn things around. On Tatooine you have this encounter with the light, your light side or whatever and my warrior listened and was convinced by the more logic approach to power. I wouldnt say he became a full light side sith warrior but more light leaning and somewhat more rational in his choices. the game even gives you the opportunity to play with this concept. you can prevent jeassa from becoming a sith/dark side and work for a better empire. I would say a more gray approach. the best thing is if you do many light side choices when you interact with jedis/reps they are confused like hell, gives a more funny approach to many dialogs. I really enjoyed this approach to the sith warrior story. I had my full evil thingy with the inquisitor and tbh, for the inquisitor it works better, he has way more interactions with imps, where the warrior meets way more jedis/reps in the story.

Iirc the Tatooine section of the main story has a point of reflection at which the Warrior can alter their path in regards to light and dark. I didn't choose to do so, I've no idea what it entails.
I liked the Inquisitor's story a bit better as I like the arcane lore angle over the Baras intrigue. But even I acknowledge the Imperial Agent reigns supreme.

It was always my opinion that the entire Fallen Empire /Eternal Throne story is best when played by the Sith Warrior or the Jedi Knight, but now that you mention it: The fact that the Warrior doesn’t really achieve anything in terms of a network like Baras or the Inquisitor has actually makes the Story with the Alliance even better because it makes your character really grow. You grow from just a big dude with a Lightsaber to a real Sith Lord with a powerbase.

You can also be a Sith Assassin for the Sith Warrior story, and it honestly feels better. Whereas with the Sith Inquisitor story, it feels better on a Sith Warrior class since you become the Heir of Tulak Hord and his apprentice Aloysius Khallig, and both of them were expert duelists and less so pure Sith Sorcerers.

i get most of the negatives but the "im playing a bad guy so going for the evil options should result in bad outcomes where i lose everything and every ally dies" is wrong.. is like traying to say "well im playing a bad guy so the devs should punish me for doing so" or at least thats how it sounds like, because true the sith doctrine is flaw in many parts
i mean come on nixxion you play world of warcraft the horde is home of the people who do warcrimes 24/7 and they then blame their leader then they get another leader and we start the cycle all over again... but you don't see the devs saying "well your horde so like you lose all honor and stuff" nope because nobody wants to play a fantasy where they are the losers, plus come on being bad guy in videogames pays, if taking the evil option results in losing money power and friends making you the lsoer in the end, then it's not a moral dilemma at all evil choices should feel bad but give better results or equals if not whats the point of a moral choice there is no moral choice there is only a "this is good option and the other is lose money and honor option"

I played as the dual wielding version of the Sith Warrior and Jedi Knight and I was always annoyed with the system of having to build up your power so you could release your abilities, when compared with the Inquisitor and Consular and just using their powers and energy management. I could wipe out an enemy pretty quickly with a couple of powers with my Inquisitor when compared to the minute or so of hacking and slashing just to be able to use an ability to finish them off.
As for storyline, I feel that the Inquisitor gets the better storyline when compared to the Warrior. I really felt like I accomplished something when I finished it than just becoming the Emperor’s lap dog essentially.
As for Jaesa (probably not spelling that right), I played as a Dark Side Warrior and I kinda got annoyed with her slavish adoration of my character after a few conversations with her. At some point, I might play as a Light Side or Neutral version and just let her be the opposite option you can get for her so I don’t have to deal with her being that way.
But yeah, I’m glad that they changed it so that you can pick whatever option you want for your class now. Going to make playing a Warrior again more fun when I can fling lightning around like an Inquisitor.

It more just stands there and well tanks hits and damage. It'll do the flips and what not but it doesn't really do any cool animations unique to it. I'd definitely suggest playing the two dps specs, Rage and Vengeance, for unique animations or alternatively trying the Warrior's all dps class, Marauder, which has plenty of unique animations to go along with its attacks. Fury spec force punches enemies like you're shooting an energy Ki blast from DBZ, Carnage slams its lightsabers together to create a shockwave of concentrated force energy to hurl and slam into targets, and Annihilation swipes and claws with the force at targets to bloody them up, causing bleed damage.

I've never finished the DS Sith Warrior storyline. I've played through other DS characters, but I got tired of basically being nothing but a psychotic thug _really_ quickly. It just felt like nothing but "Hurr durr I'm gonna kill everyone for no reason murder murder murder." No subtlety, no motivation, just pointless cruelty. Between that and abuse of your slave Vette (which I find outright sick and offensive) I just always ended up deleting the character.
Now the LS version of the Sith Warrior is the opposite. It's one of my favorite storylines. Having to walk a fine line in Sith society, moving up and gaining power without letting on that you're not a monster, it feels like more of a challenge. You get to play as someone with honor and a code, manipulating others into thinking that your sometimes-questionable choices were done for the same twisted reasons that other Sith use to justify their actions, I enjoyed the hell out of that.

In regards to the sith warrior story, I think you're wrong about them not doing more with the tragedy of the philosophy and the warrior being almost blind. The reason they didn't do that is to give the players a means to head cannon their own characters thoughts despite the fact he or she speaks in dialogue. So in between actions and then your choices reflect your head cannon as much as possible, thats why the dialogue is A B or C. To give the players head cannon options.
I think ultimately this was a really good move by them and frankly, I would of hated it if they had done as you suggested.

I think the entire point of the Sith Warrior is supposed to be more of a living boulder that only the Emperor can throw around. If Darth Diabetus hadn't betrayed you and literally everybody else around him, he actually could have succeeded at becoming the new Emperor, but he only ever saw loose ends where the actual Emperor sees opportunities. The Emperor makes you his Wrath and you prove why in front of the entire Sith Council, while also sending a message that they no longer have a position over you. If they screw up, you are their executioner, and you will happily do your job. Hence why you leave the room with a power walk like the absolute Chad you are because you are now one of the freest and most powerful people in the Empire, unbeholden by petty politics, a weapon both feared and respected.

The entire point of the Sith is that being an angry, hate-filled monster will make you miserable and alone for the rest of your life as demonstrated by Malgus, Vader and Maul
But sadly, to pull that off, they would need to kill off companions which they can't do due to companions being an important part of the gameplay
