oh, i have a cool tip for this figure! you can swap her arms out at the mushroom peg for the kingdom ones. the joints the same size, pinks pretty much the same and she still transforms, plus you have hands that wont break and have a little joint in them
I did this same thing using the SS86 Arcee’s arms since they’re all but exactly the same. No more worries for broken hands, and she can easily hold all the other 5mm weapons in existence.
About the hands in car mode: You’re supposed to peg her smaller pistol in that rectangular hole between where her hands wind up, and then her hands will hold on to the sides of the gun, keeping them in place.
The WFCE Arcee is good for one thing: Since she's basically just hiding under a cardboard box shaped like a car anyway, it's easy to give her a diffeent shell if you can find a different toy or model car the same size. I got one to make into EarthSpark 50s style street rod figuring I'd just grab a cheap Snap-Tite kit or something, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
@dialNforNinja i mean, if you remove the giant chunk that you can optionally partsform, the backpack is already pretty accurate and reasonable. The only thing the earthrise figure is good for is being really good robot mode, but to be fair, it is really good at doing that and only that.
I dig the lo-fi music you were using for this particular video as it gave me a weird sort of thought of you discussing everything about the figure and you got Arcree in the background just chilling. And as for the figure I'm very impressed how despite the fact that this was made in 2013 it's still relatively holds up like the figure is able to stand on its own the articulation is solid and the vehicle mode oh my God that looks so clean crisp and I love how that car mode looks and the transformation didn't look like a headache. Another banger of a video and again still gonna be imagining Arcree just having headphones on her head and she's just relaxing with lo-fi music playing that's canon now lol.
I'd get one or 86, but because I have both my beloved TR Arcee AND LG Nightbird, it's hard for me to bite into any version of pre-86 T30 Arcee. But handling Nightbird, this IS a well done Arcee toy, especially since it's made with dedication. A former fan's scratch project made official. The only real improvement 86 did is the waist, because it showed the belly panel wasn't exactly necessary, but thighs being the rear fenders here is STILL superior
I have the Hasbro version and I really like the black highlights - makes it look like she's wearing athletic apparel. That alone makes the figure look more dynamic.
I got SS 86 on sale not too long ago, it is a good figure (wish the back can come off, tho it is on friction) but they could have given her the visors like hotrod as there is room.
You can get half of the back pack off very easily by just untabbing the friction joint and it looks so much better, it can also fit on her arm like a shield. It’s the only reason she’s my main Arcee
@@samuelpring3142 reread what I said. I said that in my comment, it just has the risk of breaking the joint over time. I said it poorly but its there xD
I agree that T30 has better backpack management but I will say SS86's is still pretty good as both parts blend with each other to the best of their abilities and I think both figures are on par with each other and the decision of which to get is personal preference since SS86 is basically this but updated for better movie accuracy and with modern articulation.
The tab of plastic in the palm wasn't present in the original release, which could hold the guns properly. It was added for the SDCC combiner wars redeco, which came with this oversized sword that the tab would slot into to (presumably for extra support given its huge size). But for some reason, all subsequent releases of the mold have had those retooled hands.
Best Arcee by far imo. As for the mold itself, I like how the robot integrates with the shell, it’s not much but it does more than the Arcees after it, even its metaphorical descendant in SS86. And the colors! The Thrilling 30s’ black highlights are nice, but the saturated pink of this Legends version just pops so beautifully; I can’t look at it without replaying that Dreams of Daicon fan animation in my head.
I prefer the 86 one specifically BECAUSE of the articulation. While the proportions are a little off on the 86, the ability to have her actually do literally anything except neutral posing is worth it to me.
I just watched your video on the Lego bumblebee from a couple months back and I noticed how you mentioned you wanted to see a Soundwave. It just so happens that the other day a new leak came out saying that Soundwave will be the next Lego transformer
We need the Missing Link Arcee to come out first before we get another Arcee, because I know for sure that it will change the Arcee toy designing game forever.
It won’t. If you look at the prototype it’s making some pretty serious compromises to the overall design to get it to transform without having a backpack. It won’t revolutionize engineering for future Arcee figures.
You csn pop her hands onto the little tabs on either side of the stored gun in car mode, but getting them there with the gun in far enough they don't drag makes the gun really hard to dig back out of its slot. My T30 Aree's gun skittered away a couple years ago and hasn't returned after I fumbled it due to the amount of force it took to dislodge.
It's actually funny how the 86 should look better, but the thrilling 30 version is a clear example of how praxis and theory can so often not be clear cut. The 86 version cleans up the backpack, but it did so by squaring it off, making its harsh angles way more noticeable against the slimed down thighs. tTe thrilling 30 version has bigger thighs, due to the the legs forming the sides of the car, (and a little horniness from the designer) but because of those thicker thighs, the curving of the backpack blends in to her natural silhouette. So as a result, T30'w backpack blends in while 86's backpack sticks out. While 86 has the technically more accurate altmode, the T30 one feels nicer because less of the altmode is just backpack. and the Takara paintjob uses a way more appealing shad of saturated pink, and bothered to paint the whole figure, while the 86 one uses a super dull, super desaturated pink that doesn't cover the whole figure. So ultimately on paper the 86 figure is more accurate and better articulated, but the T30 one looks better is almost every way which in this case is a little more important.
All of this and the fact that the 86 version has a myriad of issues that drag it down. The panels at the back of the vehicle do not like to stay in place, and the legs jut out horribly on the underside. In robot mode, the chest just sits there instead of pegging in (probably because they had to work in an ab crunch) which makes the figure feel flimsy. The thrilling 30 toy has none of those issues. Everything pegs in securely in both alt and robot mode, and that makes it more satisfying to handle.
kinda shocked you can’t find a Studio Series Arcee for anything less than retail…as far as I know that figure did nothing BUT shelfwarm (which made it an easy pick to be MY arcee)
that hand issue reminded me of Legacy Laser Optimus's sword having that tab on the handle. Which as far i can tell, exists for the sole purpose of not letting the sword be usable on any TF without open hands, which is such a bafflingly confusing design decision. Even if its insanely easy to snip off, its just of case of "Why, what valid reason does this have to exist"
i think i still prefer the 86 retool, it’s not quite as clever with the transformation but it is very refined (i really miss how the thighs formed the sides of the car, that was such a neat move) but the tweaked proportions especially at the hips and stomach make her a lot more palatable to me. still though, she wouldn't be as good as she is without the t30 design laying the groundwork, this toy has so much of my respect.
(also if you’re thinking of getting rid of the earthrise arcee i would happily buy it off you, honestly been really curious about the mold and i think she’d have a good home with my other arcees)
2:00 I think the extra plastic at the bottom of the hands is purely for strength to satisfy safety standards. Think I'll actually shave mine too; dunno why I didn't think of it - it's not usually something I'm averse to..! 😂 7:45 I dunno if you noticed, but when the pistol is stored under her car mode like that, you can actually plug her hands onto the tabs on the sides, securing them further. Yeah, this is by far my favourite Arcee mould; I actually didn't pick mine up (the T30 version) till years later; I managed to find it on Amazon... I think only a hair above original retail price, after I already had the Earthrise. She is _far and away_ better than the later model; while she has _almost_ as much backpack as the Earthrise iteration, it doesn't _feel_ like it. She also doesn't have ER's clown feet, but there's still plenty there, along with the ankle joints, to give her plenty of posability on most surfaces.
The hands have those stoppers at the bottom to prevent the fingers from breaking. If you shave them off, you're risking snapping the fingers. Better alter the weapon handles instead.
I actually have this arcee and it’s a lot of fun to mess around with but sadly both of her thumb is broke off because I have that toy I never got the Earth rise version I did get the bumblebee movie version though.
Titan Return is still my favorite G1-ish Arcee but this is second and it is more G1. I wish the sides of the top of the backpack folded in like the Siege version generally they could improve other parts a little bit but SS86 was a step backwards compared to this
Never found this one, but the involved transformation is significantly better than the ER which is a straight up shell former with the car hanging off the back. I have the Kingdom version on my 86 shelf, and at the very least at lest the backpack can be removed entirely for a similarly clean look. Can't get over the T30s Joker grin though. While not the best Arcee my favorite is still the scout from Energon.
Heh, I actually got her last year! I just didn't liked the 86 version (eventhought she got better articulation) cos the colours on her look too faded and her stomach is too blocky! The T30 is good but I LOVED the Legend is more cartoon accurate per say (no black colours)! The pink on the Legend version just pop out more and yes I even liked the "curved" on her too!
That's weird. Where I live, the studio series one is pretty dirt cheap, like they're selling it for like 13 to 17 dollars, The price fluctuates pretty often.
Ohg shit i just recently (Halloween this year) tried buying this figure but accidentally didn't budget for shipping and couldn't end up buying it lol. Really want it still and probably definitely will buy it next time i can.
I got thrilling 30 and her g1 gun is hers but the other gun belongs to chromia. I was going to buy a chromia but i didn't waist time to sell a toy with an accurate accessory so i gave it to windblade
I've got the this Japanese version of Arcee, Paradron Medic and Nightbird. I couldn't stand the Earthrise or 86 version (even when it was on sale at Toys R Us Japan) so I've stuck with it.
As a collector, what makes you purge pieces from the collection/ want them again? I’ve been curious about collection maintenance for RUclips reviewers with giant collections!
Don't often disagree but any of the Arcee molds that have come out in the last couple of years are leaps better. I'm very happy with my Earthrise Arcee.
I just never liked the shellforming backpack G1 Arcee design. What I really want is Earthspark Arcee. Maybe Studio Series would work for all the ES designs with a bigger budget.
I love the paint and proportions of this Arcee but SS86 for is better for me because of the articulation. WFC, Legacy and SS86 has spoiled me so bad that I can not enjoy a figure without side to side ankle tilt. Waist swivel is ok but I don't need it and the shoulders need to do a T post or very close.
Did you preorder the new SS wave (the one with hatchet) on GameStop? Bc it ships earlier than others, the deluxes and voyagers ship in December, and the leaders ship in January.
Are there any 3rd party Arcee figures in this scale? I saw the FT and another one with a replacement set of chests, but they're MP scale and I don't collect MP scale anymore due to space and cost concerns.
ended up getting the t30 version of this instead (no, ebay, i am NOT paying $90 for a 10 year old deluxe class figure) and yeah unfortunately it's probably the best arcee figure we ever got which is no knock on it it's 100% a great representation of her but i just think it's kinda sad yk we have a definitive CHUG optimus we have a definitive CHUG starscream a definitive CHUG sideswipe so on and so forth but poor arcee just has two slightly different toolings of this mold take it or leave it
This is by far the best Arcee figure, but i think the T30 color scheme is way better. Less accurate, but with the black touches its way more dynamic. I got the 86 version, and was pretty disappointed with it. Compared with this one its rubbish. Good to know about swapping the arms with earthrise. My first copy has broken hands so i bought a second copy
Of all the Arcee's out there, I think the Takara Legends Arcee is the best you can get. And what Hasbro did to put black in the figure. I don't know where that comes from.
It's a better transformer than the ss86 just by virtue of more bot parts becoming actual car parts. In this case the upper thighs. The ss86 has better bot legs and hands and the backpack is detachable. It's kind of a wash though. It's really what you want from the figure. I prefer the ss86.
I dunno, if you're willing but I have a Thrilling 30's Arcee but Prefer the Takara release of the figure. I live in Canada and would be willing to trade it or something.
Takara Legends Arcee may be good, but that doesn’t mean SS86 Arcee is bad. She may not be perfect, but Imo 86 Arcee is a pretty damn good Arcee. Not sure if I want to get her or not, but Idk, maybe. And, Imo 86 has the better altmode. Also, T30 (I think thats it) Arcee is definitely the inferior version of the mold (TL is better deco)
While I like how the legs transform compared to the 86 figure, the sculpt of the stomach, permanently arched back, lack of torso articulation, and (super duper subjectively) the way the backpack folds up turn me away from this figure
@daltonwilliams1723 Yup, it's honestly the animation models fault she's super slender, but then she mass shifts into a big car how exactly do you expect hasbro to pull this off, no third party company has mastered it, you can't have a perfectly clean Arcee bot mode and a chunky car
I think you can have a good Arcee transformer that still has a backpack. I mean, the generation's one already exist, so that kind of proves my point (and hey you know what I'll say it, the earthrise one isn't all THAT bad, just kinda mid).
I think I prefer the 86 still. The robot for this one has some advantages (dem thighs plz) but I think the 86 alt is just so much better, and the 86 robot is, how I can only describe as, the most extra average arcee I've ever seen and I don't think this one improves on it a whole ton. Extra accessory's are super dope too though. Edit: wording
I have the platinum version, the kingdom one and the ss86. None of them are perfect. All of them has advantages and disadvantages between them. It’s literally imposible to make a G1 Arcee that can transform and be accurate without parts forming. I think I like plat Arcee more than 86 in robot mode, but the other way around in the alt mode. Also I’m a defender of Kingdom Arcee, I think the hate that toy gets is not justified. They tried a new way to make a good robot mode without compromising the car mode too much, and it shows that the design can only work as partsforming / nomtransforming
I have SS86 Arcee and it's an actual improvement tot his mold for the leg articulation and ab crunch...it's NOT an improvement in color as the Takara Legends version is SO MUCH NICER, lol. I really wish Hasbro or Takara would color the SS86 figure like this. It's one of the reasons I still have like three of the Takara Legends Arcee on my shelves.
It’s insane how they seem to refuse to make a solid and well rounded female bot, always have issues or it’s like they don’t care to make the female form more female, like they have to make it worse than it should be.
oh, i have a cool tip for this figure! you can swap her arms out at the mushroom peg for the kingdom ones. the joints the same size, pinks pretty much the same and she still transforms, plus you have hands that wont break and have a little joint in them
I just used a model kit knife to shave off the unnecessary plastic on her hands instead of swapping them
Hey! I had to do that when my T30 arce hands broke, I felt like a genius. Guess I wasnt the only one
I did this same thing using the SS86 Arcee’s arms since they’re all but exactly the same. No more worries for broken hands, and she can easily hold all the other 5mm weapons in existence.
Thank you for this! I was so sad when one of her hands broke
I wonder if I could pop a pin out of her knees and replace her calves with ER/86's lower legs to give her ankle tiltage?
0:55 I know what you’re doing here..
rrat
bro can you please make more transformers videos. i love your skits but the transformers videos would be so fun
THE STINKY BLUE RAT YEEEEEEEES
Da Rat is bak, but you wont Beat me
Dude, you're amazing
About the hands in car mode: You’re supposed to peg her smaller pistol in that rectangular hole between where her hands wind up, and then her hands will hold on to the sides of the gun, keeping them in place.
I was about to say this myself.
I don't like the earthrise one all that much, but I got it at Walmart for $2 so it's my arcee.
$2?! As in USD?
Same . Got mine for 10$CAD sealed at a local shop
I hope arcee gets an actual earth alt mode soon, like in the terminator crossover
most female characters really need one if the designs are ever to improve. Windblade as well.
I'd get one or 86, but because I have both my beloved TR Arcee AND LG Nightbird, it's hard for me to bite into any version of pre-86 T30 Arcee. The only real improvement 86 did is the waist, because it showed the belly panel wasn't exactly necessary, but thighs being the rear fenders here is STILL superior
TR Arcee is what I consider as the best Arcee so far. You're so fortunate to own her.
Definitely the best mainline Arcee. The higher saturation of pink colour alone makes it really stand out compared to the later ones
Hironori Kobayashi (designer at Takara) made this mold, improved from the arcee he made from scratch himself around 1999.
0:30 freak out at a $30 deluxe? Why would I? The average deluxe class over here costs *35€*

Once that gray gun is plugged in under the car, you can have her hands grip the tabs on its sides so that they hold in place.
I agree that T30 has better backpack management but I will say SS86's is still pretty good as both parts blend with each other to the best of their abilities and I think both figures are on par with each other and the decision of which to get is personal preference since SS86 is basically this but updated for better movie accuracy and with modern articulation.

This figures looks awesome. I was so sad that they never released an Arcee figure back when the movie came out.
Man, this has so much in common with the SS86 figure that I genuinely thought that's what this video was about.
It's actually funny how the 86 should look better, but the thrilling 30 version is a clear example of how praxis and theory can so often not be clear cut. If you get her hands on the side pegs of the grey gun in car mode, it all holds together. I think that's actually in the instructions.
This is my Arcee. She's so good.
I gave her swords to Takara Legends Slipstream though. Arcee got Legends Nightbird's yellow swords instead.

The arms are supposed to hold the tabs on the sides of the small gun and the handle plugs into her underside to hold the arms in place.
The hands have those stoppers at the bottom to prevent the fingers from breaking. If you shave them off, you're risking snapping the fingers. Better alter the weapon handles instead.

I still think the Titans Return Arcee is my favorite - mostly because I'm an IDW fan. =) But the Bumblebee one is a good second.
To fixate the arms in car mode you have to have the hands hold the pegs on the side of the pistol that stores on the underside in car mode. ;)

I've got the this Japanese version of Arcee, Paradron Medic and Nightbird. I couldn't stand the Earthrise or 86 version (even when it was on sale at Toys R Us Japan) so I've stuck with it.
I have transformers generation arcee black joints one. Not gonna lie it’s cool 😎
Earthrise is still the best one for me since I got it for 10 bucks
title is wrong, the best Arcee toy (car) is Animated
That toy guy have you ever gotten that last Titan for your Titan class of every mould yet?
Wish they make a head master cartoon acurate version of her
I still really hope hasbro gives us an earth mode G1 style Arcee (preferably one based off the IDW comics)
As a collector, what makes you purge pieces from the collection/ want them again? I’ve been curious about collection maintenance for RUclips reviewers with giant collections!
This Is my Perfect g1 arcee
Don't often disagree but any of the Arcee molds that have come out in the last couple of years are leaps better. I'm very happy with my Earthrise Arcee.
For a second I thought it was the ss one and I was like "you must be joking"
IMO That title goes to Firebird

Could you do a review on seige astrotrain
I got the SS86 Arcee last year in the 2-packs from Christmas. She's... ok
I just never liked the shellforming backpack G1 Arcee design. What I really want is Earthspark Arcee.
Maybe Studio Series would work for all the ES designs with a bigger budget.
Why can't we have a deluxe class arcee with an earth based alt mode that isn't a motorcycle and doesn't have a backpack?
"No fake chest" man i wish girls irl had these too
I love the paint and proportions of this Arcee but SS86 for is better for me because of the articulation. WFC, Legacy and SS86 has spoiled me so bad that I can not enjoy a figure without side to side ankle tilt. Waist swivel is ok but I don't need it and the shoulders need to do a T post or very close.
Glad I had the hasbro and yes Takara is cool
How hard would swapping out her arms with SS86’s be?
also a fun fact, this was designed by the guy that did kiss players, which explains a lot...
In my book, the best Arcee is the 3rd party "Newage H48 Maschinenmensch".
You peg the hands in the sides of the small gun and peg that one on the main body.
I wouldn't shave those hands down... it might be the only thing keeping it from being too easy fragile
Did you preorder the new SS wave (the one with hatchet) on GameStop? Bc it ships earlier than others, the deluxes and voyagers ship in December, and the leaders ship in January.
Fun fact: the designer of this figure is responsible for Kiss Players.
I have the hasbro one with black paint and she doesnt have the excess plastic in the hands issue. Could be a flawed factory version of the mold?
Are there any 3rd party Arcee figures in this scale? I saw the FT and another one with a replacement set of chests, but they're MP scale and I don't collect MP scale anymore due to space and cost concerns.
Bet some Elitist Takara Marks are having seizures right now with your preference of the Hasbro version.
ended up getting the t30 version of this instead (no, ebay, i am NOT paying $90 for a 10 year old deluxe class figure) and yeah unfortunately it's probably the best arcee figure we ever got
which is no knock on it it's 100% a great representation of her
but i just think it's kinda sad yk
we have a definitive CHUG optimus we have a definitive CHUG starscream a definitive CHUG sideswipe so on and so forth
but poor arcee just has two slightly different toolings of this mold
take it or leave it
This is by far the best Arcee figure, but i think the T30 color scheme is way better.
The Studio Series 86 figure is based on this one so should be good
I feel like T30 and 86 are sidegrades. Like, equally correct and good, just in different flavors.
best one besides bee movie arcee
Day 17 of asking ttg to make a review on legacy prowl mold
He won't, sorry 😔
New video lesgo
Personally I prefer the 86 one
While I like how the legs transform compared to the 86 figure, the sculpt of the stomach, permanently arched back, lack of torso articulation, and (super duper subjectively) the way the backpack folds up turn me away from this figure
People give the Arcee toys flak and I have to say this, How exactly did they expect Hasbro to do the figure, Of course it is going to have a Backpack.
Exactly. You want a good arcee figure or a g1 accurate arcee figure? You really can’t have both at this scale and price range.
@daltonwilliams1723
Yup, it's honestly the animation models fault she's super slender, but then she mass shifts into a big car how exactly do you expect hasbro to pull this off, no third party company has mastered it, you can't have a perfectly clean Arcee bot mode and a chunky car
I think you can have a good Arcee transformer that still has a backpack. I mean, the generation's one already exist, so that kind of proves my point (and hey you know what I'll say it, the earthrise one isn't all THAT bad, just kinda mid).
@AwesomeMooseSmile
Didn't the generation version have breakages in the hands as they were so thin
26 seconds what hi hello
It’s insane how they seem to refuse to make a solid and well rounded female bot, always have issues or it’s like they don’t care to make the female form more female, like they have to make it worse than it should be.
Nah, the Studio Series Bumblebee is my favorite/best Arcee figure.
