This is a civil issue not really a domestic one. The president has no control over the cartel, as much as she wants to believe it. It’s about preserving the innocent and making negotiations. Because the moment the cartel finds something they are displeased with in your policy is the moment they kill innocent people.
A declaration of war won’t happen over some smuggies. And if it were to happen the US wouldn’t be any better than Mexico. Our military has probably killed more innocent people than the cartel itself. And more will only die if we go to war.
You also will most likely pay 50x more for products due to a war with Mexico. So stop fearing a war, Trump can’t afford it anyways.
