Subscribed. I'm from Serbia and you guys are amazing!❤ Tip for next time you come as well as all others that wish to visit Belgrade: Don't go to tourist food places if you can. They got higher prices than regular places and quality most of the time is not better and sometimes even worse from smaller shops. You can check reviews on places that are not in tourist zones and choose the best one you find instead. And NEVER use street cab and especially airport cab they always try to ripoff strangers sometimes they charge $50-100 more than the actual price. Outside of that we are very hospitable people and love visitors! Also Novi Sad is amazing city as well and it has EXIT, one of the biggest music festivals in Europe. There the greatest music stars from all around the world come to preform. Novi Sad itself is bit different than Belgrade it has more of European flavour in architecture. Similar to Vienna. Also almost all younger people speak english and will always be glad to help you!

Whenever I hear that a restaurant has been open for over a 100 years I know the food is gonna be amazing! The burek looked delicious, I love it when places pair pastry meat and yogurt 😃

Wooohooo was waiting for the food tour! Cheese and meat Burek with a side of yogurt looks like a staple dish for brekky in Serbia. The nutella pastry gift was a nice lil extra touch too. Woaaaaaaah that crumbed veal stuffed with cream cheese, that looks heavy duty. Cevapi looks like something perfect for lunch. So much goodness!
You guys have to check out Serbian nature. It’s amongst the most beautiful I’ve ever seen in my years of traveling. Definitely recommend seeing River Tara, they say the water is so clean that you can drink from it.
Many food places in Serbia are working for as long or around as long. It's mostly traditional businesses passed down a couple of generations. There are even older places than that too

In Serbia GMO food is forbidden, while the stuff labeled as Bio in the west, in Serbia is just normal regular food. Another thing is that in the US people put a lot of sugar not only in the sweets, but also in the regular meals, while in Serbia we don't do that, so you have more genuine natural taste of the actual food you're eathing.

Pjeskavica is a must try for all visitors, and I understand why is your favorite. We would love to eat it more often but it is hard to find Serbian restaurants everywhere, we will be back in September 😁☺
Pljeskavica.. we couldn't pronounce it either, but that looks like a big salisbury steak without the gravy!! LOLOL Totally a big man meal with that burger. Marias (we can't even spell it) looks delicious and juicy. So amazing you're getting to try food you never have tried in the US! Before you cut it open, it looked like a massive corn dog!
Hahaha yes you are right, looks like a corn dog. But the cream cheese (kajmak) and the meat makes it way juicer. You are absolutely right, never thought we would try Serbian food or be in Serbia for that matter lol but we are so happy we are here

@@TheMamuchos Burek in this form that you just ate was invented by Turks in Serbian city of Nish by Mehmed Oglu who was a Turk. Even today in Turkey you can find similar dish with cheese. So, not very accurate statement by fellow Bosnian. :) lol

It's a great way to start the day. The yogurt isn't salty like ayran, it taste more like non flavored yogurt. It's not sweet but it's not salty at all.

You should make a vid about cakes, ice cream, tradition WHEAT AND WALNUT WHIT A CREAM, CHESTNUT whit a cream.. Cake shope PELIVAN is famous. They have ice cream whitout any artificial ingredients. It's over 100yrs(f.1851y)old and you can see old Belgrade pictures on the walls. Our king Petar Karadjordjević was theirs guest daily. Just cross the sreet from National Assembly. Or Hotel Moskva for my favorite Moskva schnit cake.
Ćevapi in Lepinja, proper way to eat it is with fingers.. without knife and fork! That's why Ćevapi are inserted into the bread. Some kind of traditional sandwich. It is best and tastiest with onions and hot peppers. Without mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup, etc.
Yes we ate it with our fingers, I just cut it with the fork and knife so I wouldn't touch the other piece with my hands. We loved it with the onions, the kajmak and ajvar. We didn't put mayonnaise or ketchup. Lieles was just joking about the serbian burger. Thank you for teaching us more things about Serbia and its food
Burek is actually a traditional Turkish dish, also called börek :) The cevapi is the same. its name is kebab. When the Belgradi Ottoman Empire ruled for 500 years, these beautiful flavors were inherited by the serfs. my purpose is definitely not to spark political debate. just to provide a better understanding of how these beautiful flavors spread to the world. we Turks have a statement. "everything for people" I wish you pleasant travels ...
Yes, during the ottoman's times there was a lot of influences in the food in many regions of the world, and things that stayed like Burek or Borek, or Baklava. We don't want to enter political conversations either but appreciate the history note! Thank you and hope you join us for our travels in Croatia and more in the future

The Burek is from Pekara Trpković near Slavija. It is the best burek in Belgrade. I would always buy burek from them while I was studying in Belgrade.

Al hrana u svakom slučaju izgleda fenomenalno. Mislim, imamo i mi naše izvedbe kako je to više hrana sa ovih prostora, ali vjerujem da se da naći dosta i novih stvari. A to što kažeš da je jeftinije samo još ide u "prilog", if you know what I mean.

Pljeskavica.. we couldn't pronounce it either, but that looks like a big salisbury steak without the gravy!! LOLOL Totally a big man meal with that burger. Marias (we can't even spell it) looks delicious and juicy. So amazing you're getting to try food you never have tried in the US! Before you cut it open, it looked like a massive corn dog!

It's pronounced KAYMAK, and it is salted clotted cream, not cream cheese. I am so glad you liked it!

It's a great way to start the day. The yogurt isn't salty like ayran, it taste more like non flavored yogurt. It's not sweet but it's not salty at all.

Cake shope PELIVAN is famous. They have ice cream whitout any artificial ingredients. It's over 100yrs(f.1851y)old and you can see old Belgrade pictures on the walls. Our king Petar Karadjordjević was theirs guest daily.

Ćevapi in Lepinja, proper way to eat it is with fingers.. without knife and fork! That's why Ćevapi are inserted into the bread. Some kind of traditional sandwich. It is best and tastiest with onions and hot peppers. Without mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup, etc.
Yes we ate it with our fingers, I just cut it with the fork and knife so I wouldn't touch the other piece with my hands.
We loved it with the onions, the kajmak and ajvar.
We didn't put mayonnaise or ketchup. Lieles was just joking about the serbian burger.

When the Belgradi Ottoman Empire ruled for 500 years, these beautiful flavors were inherited by the serfs.
