I can barely stand on those
The people who are saying “their touching each other’s butts” first of all, their not. Their touching each other’s backs so that don’t run in to each other and so that they keep a good distance away from each skater. Bc what their doing is called a pace line and they have to keep a good distance so they don’t hit each other’s skates. And I know because I am actually a speed skater. If you look my profile pic is actually my skates. So I know what I’m talking abt.

They're all ignorant. I have been a skater myself and I know how important it is to just touch the back of the person ahead of you if you're skating behind him otherwise you'll just bump into him. And you can't skate individually either since you have to face a lot of air friction that makes you tired quickly. For instance, skip the video to 10.09...those three lads have a great lead but then they have to see that they don't get tired quickly so one of those three lads gestured to the other two to take turns to lead and the other two will follow.
At our skate club we call it the skate line but whatevs

Wish they started racing on larger oval. This oval is kids size, they barely have the chance to stretch their legs. It needs to be at least the same oval size that olympic runners use.

That would be the route, it's bigger than the track, they race in both.

why they don't use aero helmets?
Addicted Cyclist The reason they don't wear the aerodynamic helmets that you see in cycling is because of health and safety. If they fall, skaters likely will fall backwards and due to the shape of the aerodynamic helmet, it would likely cause a neck injury.
There are aero helmets that don't have tails the German Felix rijhen is wearing one
Exactly. Skaters shouldn't wear helmets with the projection at the back, for this reason.
