I like Taj Gibson, these are some great rebounding tips. Rebounding is a underrated skill, I have seen NBA games lost because guys used poor technique and couldn't secure a board.
Yes. Rebounding is very important, and you can actually consider it as a key in the game. Because without rebounding, your team will have a poor possession times.
John Paul Cabangis I consider rebounding just as important as a steal or even a blocked shot. It denies the other team the chance to score on that possession
if its man to man, make sure your teamate that has him is on him, if not, and you are in zone, get the guy in your zone, if your teammates are being useless go for it
Putting ur hands around them "contain" as you call it is a foul it should be called in nba games but usually isn't and using ur arm to stop them the way u show is a foul or sometimes is considered one but if your coming from around then and do that it is definitely a foul.. Keep this in mind everyone you don't want fouls they tend to actually call fouls in college and highschool basketball unlike the nba
+Flashback1v1r Thank YOU for saying that. I play streetball in France and everybody is too much inspired by the NBA, it's foul after foul after foul, so annoying.
No, this is not a foul. Have you heard of Hit and Find? You hit your player with that strong 90 degree elbow, keep in mind you dont actually hit them or use force, but you hold your ground, then step in front of the player and box out with your arms at again a 90 degree angle, as it is very hard for a player to slash through and pin your arm to your side, and get in front. Trust me, as an experienced representative player in an U18 rep side, this is not a foul, and as you can see, im not a pro, but im at a high level, where they call fouls. Basketball is a very physical game, believe it or not, it doesnt look like it when professionals do it, because they can use their strength without showing it as their strength is far greater than others. You will not realise your defensive potential until you play with grit and determination. But yes, if you literally hit your player when youre hitting and finding, it is a foul, but simply stopping them with your arm and using no forward force, but instead holding your ground, is not.
+MR.FRESH Of course you can. Draymond Green played center at 6 ft 7. Magic Johnson played point guard at 6'9. If that is the position you want to play, make it happen lil bro.
