  • In this video, our two daughters give a complete tune up to our new to us farm utility vehicle.
We were quite amazed at the capabilities of this old Geo Tracker.
Teaching our kids how to back up a trailer with this smaller vehicle really makes it easier.
Stay till the end and see this little Tracker in action!

Why do you need a gun on your hip to fix a car? Is it a maturity thing? Most people grow out of this at high school age.

I only take it off while I’m sleeping.. and yes with maturity you’ll learn that having this tool could save your life some day.. I do hope that one day you will grow out of it. Take care my friend.

For animals, people. and plus working on your car is a very vulnerable time. guess for someone that has never worked on their own car let alone in a driveway or random parking lot it can be very dangerous. Plus he has his family/daughters safety to worry about.

GREAT JOB Dad. I'm in my 60's and grew up on a farm. There was no boys or girls work there was just work. I still work on my own cars. Not as much as I used to but I can if I have to. I also taught my daughter how to do alot of just general maintenance. We still live out in the sticks and that knowledge has come in handy. Love the looks when I pull over to help a male and get him back and going on the side of the road.

The long hair makes me nervous when working on an engine. Please have them put the hair up so ponytails don't get sucked into a fan belt or other moving parts. I was helping my brother trouble shoot a squeaky fan belt and leaned over the engine and my pony tail got caught in the alternator pulley. Thankfully my brother was in the drivers seat with his hand on the key, and turned off the engine and my friend who was standing next to me, grabbed my hair. Other than an unplanned really short haircut that afternoon to even out what hair was left, nobody was hurt, but lesson learned. Awesome job girls. Great job teaching, Dad.

Thanks for the refresher. Haven't changed my own oil for years. I forgot several main points. Remember to put the cap back on even when professionals do the work. I was driving down the road after I PAID somebody to change my oil. My car suddenly started smoking and when I pulled over and checked it the cap was not only off, but missing altogether. Threw together a temporary cap and limped back into town. After a lengthy discussion with the shop, I ended up with an engine detailing and free oil for the life of the car, which wasn't long after that....

Never thought of a Tracker. Great idea! Excellent class time for the girls. Good knowlege and skills to have. You're a smart man, later on your daughters won't have to come to you to fix their vehicles. Self reliance and independence are priceless things to have. God Bless you and your family.

Great lesson. Great Dad. Loved the attention to details and the successful way your daughters followed through. I probably would have listened more intently to my Dad if he was packin’. Look forward to you posts.

What great kids. Very cool that you are teaching your girls how to work on and maintain a car. Holly cow!! Those kids have grown like weeds. I'm glad you're still making videos for You Tube.

Spent many Michigan days fixing my cars in high school. Hanging motors from tree limbs, replacing rear diffs in the snow. Good times!

I very seldom comment on anyone's post. I really felt it necessary to do so today. God Bless You, for being so patient and teaching those beautiful girls something that they can use their entire lives. Also; even more importantly, teaching them if they want something they have to work for it which is something that really has been lost on the younger generations today.
I read through some of these posts and like always I get so discussed at what some people comet on. You're doing a fine job in my opinion teaching YOUR children what you know will help them in life. I'm in the "last leg" of life now, and I so very happy that I was able to teach my children important skills that they have taken with them throughout their lives. When they get older they will ALWAYS appreciate what you teach them everyday.

Had a battery blow up in my face when I was younger. Luckily I had just turned to look at my friend before it happened. Lucky because I was not wearing safety glasses. I now give batteries a healthy bit of respect knowing how violent they can be when they decide to cook off.
And tomboys, or just girls in general that are interested in fixing things and don't mind getting a bit dirty are, in my opinion, the coolest girls.

Props for raising daughters with practical knowledge! Far too few young ladies (or even young guys) know how to mow the lawn or change a flat on their car. Or cook and do domestic things but thats a different matter. Willingness to learn goes a long way too. In my opinion parents who don't teach their kids practical skills have failed them (and whoever they marry). Especially in the tough economic times that are coming...😉

The only thing they didn't get to learn about is having to jack up a car which on most cars and some trucks is very important to get right (As we all know LOL) but great stuff! Thank you!

First I'd like to say all the girls did awesome without any sass. Your teaching the girls like our father taught us with Great Patients. I have never had to take car/truck in for oil change. Tune up. I never had to have anyone change tires. I change out old to new and balance my own. I have always done my own auto repair all because my father t[k the time to show me how I'm 63 now slower but still get it done. ladies you Rock.

I tell new car owners, "Positively Red Hot!" to help them keep track of what's positive and where the red clip goes when jumping a car.
