Picking the right audio clip for your animation acting and lip-sync piece is important! You don't want to ruin your hard work animating a scene with audio you can't understand or that is wildly inappropriate (depending on where you live). I talk about what to pay attention to, what to avoid and go over general tips for your animation clip search process. Phew. That was quite the sentence!

Hi Jean-Denis!
I'm making a shot for my reel but i still have troubles for the audio, no one convinces me and i thought that recording myself could be a good idea, quality audio and mic is not a problem for me becasue my father works on a radio station and he can help me with this part.
My shot is a bit special, I need personalized dialogues for some special reasons, dou you have some advices for that? Thanks man!
Sound quality is the first pitfall and then the performance. As long as both are good why not? 😁
THANK YOU
Sure thing!
Hey Jean-Denis, what do you think about the idea of get audio, but edited by myself with an audio software? Do you think is ok, if it have the pauses, contrast, and other characteristic that you mentioned in this FNA?
Ender Perez Yeah, editing things together is totally fine. I sometimes also add more sound effects to things.
Jean-Denis Haas thank you!
Ender Perez Sure thing!
How to deal with copyright? Please help me! How do I know I can use certain audios legally? I don’t want to animate something just to find out I don’t have rights to present the audio! Also, even if I’m not going to publish it, I’m afraid I look unprofessional by using something without permission.
For demo reels you’re okay unless it’s material that hasn’t been published online or isn’t available on streaming or discs. It’s like showing animation from deleted scenes (which aren’t publicly available), you can’t really do that.
