I copied this exactly. Never once have I colored my hair on my own. It turned out fantastic. Thank you so much
How much developer did she use it looked like only a lil
This is the BEST silver hair video that ive watched and she clearly states she isnt professional.. The outcome is beautiful!! Ive searched the internet and none looks like hers
Hairstyling'Queen Toni Wella 050 wont do you wrong :)
Does this wella tona wash our is it permanent? X
@@Vvniiiiiicvk its label permanent but it washes out quickly. When using it always gave people shampoo to keep up with thr fading
True
Yall are so judgey and condescending but the girl saved herself hundreds of dollars so that's that on that.
StephenHeart well if she went to a hair stylist the roots part would probably cost around 30 dollars and the color would be around 30 also so it would cost “hundreds” but okay it would always come out better and less splotchy
Karlee Plante A Flower it looks fine
I just went and spoke a salon about this and they said it would be $125-$150 per sitting. It will probably take 3 sittings and then $125 every 2-4 weeks. That’s hundreds of dollars.
I just paid 400 for grey . And I love this comment
I agree and I’m a hairstylist with my cosmetology license at the end of the day it’s her hair and she can do what she wants with it I’m actually just SOOO happy that she used professional products instead of box dye like most of the at home dye jobs I’ve seen.
For anyone who has had the "do it at home struggle" you rocked it. Ty.
The 40 vol developer, hair brushing after bleaching, and no gloves was soooo scary lol...BUT your color results are one of the best I've seen. You are so pretty and this color looks AMAZING on you!
Tina G. I’m sorry I’m a retard but why can’t you brush your hair after bleaching it
@@pinksad8502 it was the way she was brushing it. From scalp to end. It should be from ends to scalp to prevent breakage
I brushed my hair after bleach n nothing happened so...
She, obviously, never took chemistry in any school. Hair colorists should ALL be required to take chemistry, as that would prevent horrible mistakes by hair salons. I did mine (silvered my dark dark hair) with less time, less product, and less BS. Her hair is "blue/gray"...yuck, yet her eyebrows are brown...lol. Should have light black for eyebrows with this hair color. She fried her hair, if it got hot from chemical reaction. Bet her hair is straw without oils & styling products. I used L'Oreal "la Petite Frost), a highlight kit. My dark dark hair turn a beautiful silver, shimmery & silver. I put a Wal-Mart bag on my hair/mixture to have the heat from my head, be the catalyst for 70 minutes, voile' get soft, silky silver hair. I spent $6.68......total. She spent WAY TOO MUCH for way too many products. Sad. But, I did take 4 chemistry course in college.....that's how I know what you can and cannot do to hair, depending on the texture, thickness, and color/condition of hair.
You should never have to use a "toner" for silver hair. Her hair is an ugly blue/gray....flat in appearance, no shimmer or softness. Sad. What a waste.
So much hate on the video but I think this is so what a normal person would do which is funny. Like not all of us are knowledgable about hair color and all but this is actually helpful. Thanks a lot! ❤️💕
Your silver hair is absolutely beautiful. I am a medium brunette with incoming silver hair. Been dying my hair medium brunette, which is my natural hair color since 2001 after going blonde one time and it aging me. I am tired of fighting the silver/gray so I decided to embrace it. I am doing the process with a professional stylist as I am not confident enough to do this on my own.
This looks amazing and I agree with most people who commented about it being the best at home grey video we’ve seen. I have greys coming out at my roots. My hair is naturally dark brown but I am a blonde right now. So many different colors, I don’t think I could achieve this on my own. It looks fantastic!
Screw all these haters girl you look amazing. Your hair looks awesome. Clearly it worked so ignore these people. Thank you for the video!
I’m a hairdresser. And yes I am cringing lol 😂
NEVER use 40 vol on your scalp bb!! It burns and really messes up your scalp! ❤️
Try 20 for roots
10 for the toner.
Using 20 lightens even more when it isn’t necessary. If your hair was a little yellow it would’ve been fine ❤️
Turned out good though 😊 no hate
Ps never overlap bleach when doing roots, your hair can literally break off/ melt....
I'm a cosmetologist to, and I was like "nooo not 40 volume" she definitely would've been good with 20 volume and quick blue lightener
thanks for the tip..gonna bleach my hair
I'm thinking of coloring my hair silver. I turned 50 this year and my roots are silver. I don't want to continue coloring my hair my natural color which is dark brown. How should I go about lifting the color on my hair? Will I need to bleach my roots as well, or just the brown color in my ends?
I have a question, I want to add blonde highlights to my brown hair I bought the bleach for the high light's. My question is what volume developer should I use with my toner so the toner only tones the parts I bleach and not the brown hair?
Yes for sure. Believe me girl your hair will burn up itll be damaged and overdeveloped before you get all the product on. Yikes! Be careful
I’m trying this today - ima praying it comes out good
update : it worked .
I was gonna be motherly and comment only about wearing gloves but I just can't get over how much you look like Natalie Portman! Omg such a beauty and your hair turned out fabulous 💕
I knew she looked like someone but I couldn't place it...she even sounds like her😮
Whaaa..? She's very beautiful, but I'm not seeing Portman at all.
I see Jessica Alba more
Thaaaaat's who she looks like 😁 I knew her face looked familiar 😄
Girl, you are stunning. I absolutely love this video and I've used it as a reference before because I can't seem to get away from grey hair; I simply love it. It looks SO GOOD on you!!
I can’t believe you didn’t get hurt from the bleach on your hands, I forgot gloves once and it wore my actually finger nails down so they were super red and anything touching my nails caused me a lot of pain. You’re strong!
nolifenoprob this fucking hurts hell noo I was cringing lol
I was wary on doing this-being quarantined and my 40th high school reunion coming up I did it-it turned out fabulous!
Did u do it exactly the same ? I wanna split dye this grey and purple
You are adorable and have shown us women to be brave and go for it! I have hair almost to my waist and have grown out some really nicely streaked, gray, silver and white. I want to do what you did for the bottom half so I do not have to wait another year to get rid of all the brown auburn hair color. Brava girl
Did you do it??
I love her. She's a riot. I want to be her friend.
Omg....me too...lol...
Me too!!!!!
Me three 👻
Your so brave! I’ve been trying to get my hair dresser to do this for me and he refuses because it will damage my hair. I’m gonna do this at home! I feel the same way, it’s only hair and it will grow back or a hat can temporarily help the transition. Thank you for doing the tutorial.
Just don't use a 40 developer you could easily fry your hair and you can't put that on your scalp use a 20 volume it could take a few times to get blonde but it'll save your hair
Alyssa mae I did and I fried my hair 😀. Oh well, I’m getting some cut off this week and possibly a new look because I may be going really short
@@tammycates333 awhh good yeah a good cut will do the trick ! Haha I been there I need to get mine cut bad probbaly two inches off from going to blonde to fast oh well we love and learn luckily just hair !
Live
Alyssa mae we all make mistakes and this is not my last one, but thankfully Jaír grows back
Me coming to the comments to read all the know it hairstylist’s comments
Issajazmyn _ i don’t see myself as a know it all, but the 40 volume will melt all my black hair off my scalp
Thats exactly why im here reading. Hair stylists can be the worst LOL
That’s why I’m here
Such an awesome video!! I followed your steps and bought the same products (under $30!) and I LOVE my hair!! Thank you!!
I’m going to try it today! I also have been watching videos and am scared but going for it and adding red on the bottom
I’m so afraid I want to try this but my hair is like a dark brown will it work
Best tutorial I've seen. I've been wanting to go gray for over a year. Gonna go for it using your advice. As you can see, I'm very dark as well.
I'll send final pics when done. Thank you!
Try T15 with 050 you will get a perfect platinum silver blonde color
That's the color I'm looking for. Thank you!
What about 12a/1210 and some t050?
It looks beautiful. When you said "excuse my appearance (because you had no makeup on) I was like "Well then I owe a broadcasted national apology when I am bare faced then" 🤣 cuz you are GORGEOUS with no makeup
I just followed this step by step and got the best silver after previous failed attempts with trying Arctic fox & Iroiro. Now I only need overtone to maintain it.
Will you please tell me the measurements of each product? And the 20 developer, is it the cream one or the clear one? Thanks in advance
This is literally the best video. Love that you made sure to show the after and in the light. So many dont even dry hair and leave us hanging. Wonder if using 10 v would give same results because 20 is seriously too much for simply toning.
7:45 had me dyin’. The music 😂😂😂
Madison McCollum omg thank you for appreciating this 😂
Jessi & Ian lmao I only replayed it like 10 times 😂😂
hahaa i love that part
Jessi you are so brave girl I’m 47 years old and I have all my roots grey and about to do what you just did. I’m going to bleach all my hair then throw a chrome color on it we’ll see how that goes 🤷🏽♀️😂😂
😂
How did it go? What chrome brand/# did you go with?
it turned out really good but just be careful doing this over and over those Wela toner's are very high ammonia. Eventually overlapping bleach/toner will cause your hair to break off or turn your curls into a ramen texture.
How did it go? Debating doing this exact process on my hair today. About two years ago I payed $450 for this exact grey/silver colour in the video, I’m a 22 year old college student and I don’t have enough money for that but I have a bob and so my brown roots are very grown out and my hair hasn’t been grey for over a year but a brassy blonde. Wish me luck!
I know it didn’t turn out 100 percent but hair color is cute. She did a great job bleaching it, putting her hair in a plastic bag and when she used the color, she even used her towel to trap the heat on her head. Which is great! Thanks for your video.
Giirl your virgin hair is far from dark brown. You have dark blonde hair, like me. About level 7! Love the result 💕 you suit it so well
I love the witchy look! Beautiful grey color 😍 and yours is curly!!
Beautiful! Gloves for bleach though, I know it's fine sometimes but you might get a shock one day! I did it without gloves and it used to be okay and then suddenly chemical burns, messed up nails, serious pain. It’s also bad for your system so even though it's going on your head it's best to minimise exposure (I work with chemicals and a lot seem fine at the time but can cause bad effects longterm). Don't risk it! Still gorgeous hair and thanks for the tips though :)
This color looks really pretty!
Thanks for your courage and teaching. ❤️
i had no idea sallys had color additives. I've had silver hair for a few months now but i just love your hair so much more !!!!!
They work so good! Thanks girl!
This color is GORGEOUS on you, omg. Awesome video!
The silver color is gorgeous on you!
You are SO pretty. It turned out so good!!! I love the blonde on you yoo
I’m here because I have the same concoction on my hair at this very moment and was concerned about the navy blue appearance of my hair. I’m happy to see how yours turned out. Not so concerned about mine anymore lol. I would love to see how the toner faded out for you over the past few weeks.
The second you washed out the bleach my thoughts were “She has the cutest ears ever 🥺😭” lol awww such a weird compliment 😂🤷🏼♀️
I love how you mention the hair dressers ! Lol i hate them personality, they have fucked up my hair so bad that i do it myself , and have way better non damaging hair!!! You go girl! It looks amazing !!
Lol....I love this video so much. You're gorgeous and I love the results. Your method is almost identical to my own...right down to using the Walmart bag as a cap... 😅 Great job on both your hair and the video!
You go girl!!! Looks so beautiful and you just saved yourself soo much money!! ❤
I love the way your hair came out ! looks really good on you
WOAHHH!! when u came out the shower i gasped bc that’s the exact color i want, a kind of mystique silver/grey!!!!! def will do this when my hair grows out natural thanks for the vid!!!!
Color turned out awesome! It looks great on you.
I would like to thank you for this tutorial. I found it very useful and helpful to bring my hair to a silver from blonde. Fingers crossed when I rent out the toner it does everything I wanted
I'm a hairstylist. Be careful using 40 volume, it can damage the hair. Some would recommend to use 20 and leave it on longer.... And then once your hair is lightened and rinsed out, the toner should only be mixed with 7 or 10 volume developer.
Все верно вы пишете. Удивляюсь восторгу под видео, а потом идут с убитыми волосами к профессионалам на переделку
Hi! I’m debating doing this exact process on my hair. My roots are a lot darker than hers and very grown out and two ish years ago I payed $450 for this exact greyish silver colour at a salon which obviously I can’t afford. But my hair is no longer grey and it’s brassy blonde with dark brown roots. Since my roots are VERY dark brown, what developer would you recommend?
It's hard to predict the results, and without the knowledge of a hair stylist to be there you could damage your hair or end up very brassy orange blonde. I would suggest you don't do it again, it's too expensive to maintain the silver. Instead get the brassy color out of your blonde with a purple shampoo. Leave it on at least 5 minutes. @@_kikizaman_
oh my gosh , that silver looks amazing!!!!
Honestly I think any color would look great on you, because you’re beautiful! 😉
Your hair is absolutely gorgeous! I’m doing this!
This color is so freaking beautiful on you. Like omg, it just..... take my breath away gorgeous 😍
I love your attitude and the hair. Am definitely doing this with my artificial locs
It looks so good!! So you mixed the color ,toner, and developer together??
thank you so much for this, letting my curly hair grow to sholder lenght. Currently year 1 of 3, and i want to make some nice patches of the same color you have, Think it looks super masculine and like an anime character. This video was really helpfull to understand it
I think it looks great! I would add a disclaimer to this video about the developer! I would just advise anyone who’s watching that the developer you used it based off how dark your natural hair is and not the right developer for everyone! Look up the level of your current hair and find out how many levels of lift you need to get to level 10 to determine what developer to use! Only reason I say this is because a lot of people do tutorials exactly the way the first person did it :)
Your hair rocks! Lol this is honestly the best grey hair video I've seen lol cuz it's the same shit I do when I do my lime hair. Kudos and thank you! Time to try something new ;)
woah, her hair looks so healthy too
I’m so obsessed with this color 😩😍
I absolutely love the color and this is exactly what I was looking for!! THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!
Honestly I fell in love with you ♥️ loved the tutorial and you ❤️ unfortunately in India wella hair color products such as t14 toner , additive etc are not available so couldn't try this . But i totally loved your work 👍
You look so good with and without makeup wtf 🖤
If you have really dark hair you do need 40v cause other then that it will not lift unless you have virgen hair I did mine today n I definitely needed 40v thank you!!!!
Ok but you’re really pretty with AND WITHOUT makeup 😍
Trying this now. Fingers crossed it comes out as good as yours 😩🤞🏼
HONEY. WHERE. ARE. YOUR. GLOVES????
Well Said, "Honey, Wear Your Gloves!"
Ew
0livieira Gs don’t wear gloves
@rnstudent romeiro ikr? I didn't use gloves and nothing happened
“Gs dont wear gloves” my moms been a hair stylist for 20 years and she uses gloves cuz her literally burns her skin raw
I’m a hair dresser but u did a great job better than hair dresser I bleach my hair beach blonde no body can get it right I had to pay some times 300 it was so damage because when u go a salon they working on 2 to 3 Clint’s they live u in dryer to long u still have to pay them !!! I bleach my hair because most my hair is gray so don’t what to pay noreply for highlights I been doing my hair for the past 20 years so much health no more breaking love how u did your hair give you a 10 plus 😍😍😍😍
I love the end result!! For diy you did a great job!🖤
hair is weaker when wet to begin with. wet processed hair is unbelievably weak. be careful. it turned out good though!
Looks amazing!! I went to a professional solan And didn’t get as good of results as you did! I had an ombré so about half my hair was brown. She bleached most of it. (I wanted a lil bit of my roots) it was yellow when she washed the beach out. When she toned my hair, it came out kinda green and not as silver as yours. Maybe I’ll try your method next time with the same products
I watched through this to see what you added for colour to the t14 base but then you skipped over that! consider adding in a little caption over the screen at that part. Found afterwards in your description it's 50 but did you use the whole bottle of it because sometimes people say to just use a few drops even
@Katie Skye Shaw, she mentioned in beginning that she added the full bottle of t14 the full 050 and the full small bottle of 20 developer.
That colour is gorgeous on you this is exactly the colour I'm.aiming for so thankyou for your tutorial ❤
2:36 ur color was beautiful already
💕💕💕💕💕
That’s a BOMB colour. Fantastic!❤
Wow that color is fabulous
I just loved your video and the color is amazing. My question is how do I buy all this. Will it be available on amazon.
Love love love the end result!!! 😍😍 did you use the whole bottle of 050 additive? Please help 💛
Love this on you! I am wanting to go grey as well. Thank you for making this tutorial
It looks awesome! You are super brave young lady! Good job!
I am bad. I don't wear gloves either! You look beautiful in your new color and you do look like Natalie Portman! Gorgeous!
Your hair looks gorgeous!
Minus all the hair hate the color looks bomb and you’re super cute!!!
Love how u did your hair just like how i do it ahaha and boy the results are the best i get so many compliments too lol. Ive only been to the hairdresser twice in my life, cause i hate how i tell them what i want and they do the opposite zzz and im so satisfied with doing my own hair the results and the compliments just makes me proud lol. Looks really good on u. Ehh dont worry about the haters i mean what's new with that anyways lol but looove ur girl💃💆♀️💇♀️💞
How dark is your natural color. Do you recommend 40 developer then 20 toner? How fast does the grey fade? Have you found any other grey toner or color that holds well? Thanks?
Girl,,, you nail it!!!! Awesome color on you. Congrats!!!! PK
I just silvered my dark, dark, brown (almost black) hair. I did it in one step. O used "L'Oreal La Petite Frost" kit. (Girl on the box has short blonde hair, with highlights).
I used one box, to do just the top portion of my head. I left the mixture on for 70-75 minutes. I had wrapped my hair, with the mixture on it, in a plastic Wal-Mart shopping bag, as the kit did not have a hair cap. That is it! Washed out mixture with medium/hot water, shampoo, and used Aragon Oil / Mink oil to style.
Definitely silver, with shimmer. Not gray or white....silver! My husband loves it! I have olive skin tones with some gold skin tones, and the silver makes me look 10-15 yes younger then I am...
Bonus! I put a plastic bag over my head....no colored labels (didn't want the colored words to "bleed" into my hair...lol).....because The heat from my head, alone, was amazingly quick to turn my hair without frying it by hair dryers, etc.
When I have "lightened" my hair, in the past, my hair would have red, red, orange, peach, strawberry colors, instead of blonde or white. I think the plastic bag over the hair/mixture truly helped my hair change from way dark, to way silver. So...use a plastic cap, shower cap, or Wal-Mart bag over your head.....worked great.
Oh...and the kit gives you 2 lightening packets...I used both, with the creme developer & the tube of hair protection serum. It comes with a cap & 2 hooks, if you want total overall silver, don't bother with the highlighting cap. I love L'Oreal.....and doing it myself, saved me $120.....kit cost $6.68 at Wal-Mart.
So Do You think you should of went all over with the bleach? I mean added a little bleach to the rest of your hair for the last 10mins or so? I absolutely love this look on you. I myself have been really really blonde for years and want something different bc I've moved and can't find a hair dresser to listen to me when I tell them, My hair pulls out red brassy tones. So haven't been pleased with them so I want to do this color by myself..
Your hair turned out beautiful. Thanks for the informative video.
Looks great! Was hoping you would show us the color in the actual outdoor Sun light, since lighting can change the look completely.
Yeah it's easy when you have dark blonde hair.... Girls with brunette hair doesn't have the same luck 💁🏻
Bleach it then use the grey color you want
Thank you so much! I'm wanting do dye my hair but don't has videos at girls with grey wavy hair, your is the first. Now i don't have afraid, will to be great :)
Best freaking grey tutorial video thank you hopefully I can get it to look the same!
I freaking love the color!! I think I have found the perfect help video! Thanks GF!
You're so brave and the results were amazing good job 👍👍
I just love what you did and it looks beautiful. I like the hand full technique. I wonder if I can just put it all on with a squeeze bottle to make it easier? What do you think?
Wonderful job! You definitely inspired me to do this.
Man y’all young girls doing that to your hair got us silver foxes all tore up! lol wow your hair is amazing
Girl omg I love it I'm so doing mine. I bought all the stuff hopefully I can start tomorrow it will be day 3 of no washing and one been putting almond oil in my hair trying to get it really dirty and greasy to help it from frying or damaging as much as possible.
How do you maintain the tone, what products you you use ? Btw great results🤩 I’m definitely doing it !!
Hahahahahahahaha omg i love the heavy metal music when you shook your head. 🤣💓💓
You are really pretty and that color looks amazing on you 👍🏻😊
I am going to do the same thing. Hairdresser wants to decolour it first and then make it grey. I will make it blond first and grey later after 6 weeks or so.
she's so cute, turned out really pretty lol
