Rory's Putter Switch - How To Make More Putts

- Rory Mcilroy switched putters from a mallet style to a blade style. It was said that he could "release" a blade more easily and be more "creative" with this style putter. A mallet style was said to offer more Moment Of Inertia (MOI), therefore more difficult to "release".
Such thinking only makes putting more complex than it already is.
A "release" refers to face opening and closing in relation to the path of the putter. Proper timing of such face rotation adds complexity to a stroke, and while it can be done, it is easily misjudged in pressure situations.
MOI is less important in putting than all other golf shots because the ball is on the putter face for the shortest duration. The ball is gone before any face twisting can significantly effect direction of a putt.
To simplify a putting stroke, an Axis1 putter can be used, which will not result in gravity exerting a force to open the putter face during a stroke.
The DynAlign dynamic preshot alignment technique can also be used to stabilize the path of a putter and minimize any change in face angle caused by pronation or supination of the lead forearm.
