I've been a Luna user since almost day one. There's a lot to like but there's a long way it can go, please listen to the users and be lead by them instead of trying to lead. I notice that out of 10 Top features, only 1 is free and the other 9 need you to put your hand in your pocket :/ I want the ability to have a midi drum kit (like ML Drums or GGD in Kontakt) and separate it out to individual kit piece channels like Logic does. I would also like the option to bounce a track in place rather than go the 'open a new channel and route your track into it etc' as it would be such a time saver for midi parts.

Love the audio workflow and the sound. The midi though doesn’t cut it. I’m a songwriter that needs to quickly produce demos at home. I’ve played with luna from day one but maybe I have to accept it is not for people like me. Shame, as it has much going for it.
Personally I see Luna as a mixing tool rather than a one-stop shop that does everything. I'm looking to take a pre-worked out arrangement and mix it in Luna.
I make my living as a songwriter and use Luna for everything at the creative level. I can produce anything I want as quick;y as I can create and play it. What else do you need ?
Cmon UA, you need to prioritize a hardware insert plugin for us hybrid mixers. Until then I won’t ever considerLuna as my DAW. It’s ridiculous already how long it’s taken. And comp recording is also one feature you’re way behind on.
@@UniversalAudio How many years have you been trotting out that disingenuous response and never, ever delivering it? UA can't seriously call LUNA a DAW without hardware inserts, the most basic requirement of any DAW. Just be honest, that's what people want.

So why all the fuss about thunderbolt 3(2/3ms) vs usb (5/10 ms) that people rival so much about? Oh, and is it running smoothly on windows nowadays? Ive read some people had some problems, but then again time as passed and you people are rather brilliant... Ive got my mind set on one of those apollo x either way. Just wanted to make sure that the mac was better thanks to thunderbolt 3.
Ps: Shootout to "the time preservation society" youtube channel. He told me to speak with you guys directly
@@paulocosta3007 It's in BETA, so there are expected to be issues. That's what BETAs are for! :) Many people are very latency sensitive, so every ms counts.
@@UniversalAudio Yeah! Beta...Understandable :)
Haha I think people are more latency sensitive when they read about it HAHAHA
Anyway, i gave it some thought, and ive decided to go with a Mac so that i dont catch the computer fans with condenser mics. :) Never had one... Fresh start. But yeah, going for that Apollo!
Would be great to use Shape in other DAWs.
Is half speed playback coming soon? Oh, I forgot…”we don’t comment on things Luna doesn’t have.” I love Luna but it is still missing a few key fundamental features. You still can’t solo a channel that has a side chain plugin enabled. Recording in Luna is awesome! The Unison slot and recording fx slots are time, ram and headache savers! You can literally record a finished to near finished song! Please work to make this program whole?
Will shaper get new sounds added in the years ahead? It's a super instrument, the sound quality is top notch.
No news to share at this time, but we're glad you're enjoying!! Be sure to submit Feedback inside LUNA.
@@UniversalAudio You should get that "No news to share at this time" done up on T-Shirts :) It's legendary :) :)
👊🏻
Can we use all of our LUNA plugins and hardware on both PC and Mac without buying new licenses.
Yes.
I'm buying a UA Ruby, you should model a Orange Matamp used by Jimmy Page it's a 10k amp
Anyone having issues to download LUNA for WIN 11?
The dowload button is always coming back when the download finishes, and never get installed!
UAD support doesn't answer too!
What is your ticket #? Happy to look into it for you.
@@UniversalAudio Unfortunately i've sent the request support in the UA connect app, so i don't have it 😥
Sorry, that's not UA Customer Care. That's just for sharing your thoughts and Feedback. You want to open a ticket.
Go to help.uaudio.com, click on the Support bot icon in the lower right corner and type “create ticket”
Post the # here and I'll direct it to the right agent.
I have the same problem, it gets to 100 Then it stops for a moment and then it makes me download Luna again on UA connect... I've been trying for 4 days and the problem is the same... so I'm not the only one
Sicuramente sarà un bug della beta.. chi la installato prima non ha avuto problemi da quello che ho visto. Per favore risolvete..ho anche inviato un feedback su UA connect.. spero che risolvete il prima possibile
i user luna my number one suggestion is multi side chain input. its a pain you cant do that. second add a parallel channel with just a right click meu option. it easier than using buses and faster. than audio wave zoom in!!!!!!.. but this is something i miss on luna, its abillity to just add a insert fx to track with out rerecording.... some daws do it. and its lovely
Bounce in place
I've been a Luna user since almost day one. There's a lot to like but there's a long way it can go, please listen to the users and be lead by them instead of trying to lead. I notice that out of 10 Top features, only 1 is free and the other 9 need you to put your hand in your pocket :/ I want the ability to have a midi drum kit (like ML Drums or GGD in Kontakt) and separate it out to individual kit piece channels like Logic does. I would also like the option to bounce a track in place rather than go the 'open a new channel and route your track into it etc' as it would be such a time saver for midi parts.
Drew listens to users every day, bro. We just need to be patient 👍🏻🖖🏻
Do you need an Apollo to use the Neve Summing?
While Neve Summing runs on the CPU, you do need to own a UAD2 device to purchase it.
@@UniversalAudio So if I buy an UNIVERSAL AUDIO UAD-2 SATELLITE QUAD CORE FIREWIRE I can still use my RME for an interface, and use the neve summing with the satellite?
@@sancessounds Yes. Owning a Sat will allow you to purchase Neve Summing as part of a Custom Bundle.
@@UniversalAudio just so I understand, the sat simply just plugs into my computer and allows me to use UAD plugins that are not native? This is not a seperate DAC or anything correct?
Correct!
multi outs for stuff like AD2?
My guess is they probably receive this request hundreds of times a day. But unfortunately, it’s been something they’ve been working on for a very long time and so far no dice.
Please add the option to activate with license on PC workstation .. cloud activation only for UADx sucks .. so no internet no plugin ? Some studios run without internet.. UAD please change your policy of cloud activation only for native plugins and don’t tell me to buy ilok usb
Multi out for superior drummer ?
Can you make a video showing how to print
a track I have a focusrite but I don't know how to do it please
Do you mean render a track with processing to a new one? You'll use the Mixdown feature, and then drag the file back in.
@@UniversalAudio yes render a track with processing to a new one
Could we get video support to create soundtracks?
You can try this since we've not added the feature officially yet. ruclips.net/video/iRgyZuIbJt0/видео.html
@@UniversalAudio thanks, but I hope it gets officially added into Luna. I would pay for a "Visual Suite," for us filmmaker/music producers and beatmakers. 🙏🏾💪🏾
Uad apollo twin x thunderbolt do not work with fl studio on mac. You can't set latency in fl, also there is problem with loading plugins because of pop up, that other uad plugins have another buffet size.. Im dissapointed
Sorry to hear you're having issues. Be sure to get a ticket open with Support, they'll have things for you to try. Go to help.uaudio.com, click on the Support bot icon in the lower right corner and type “create ticket”
I already have all the luna plugins except api pre, api sum and atr 102.... can you explain to me why I should buy everything again? just to have the image of an analog mixer on the monitor..... this thing is not correct... you should give the possibility to purchase only the missing plugins and the api extensions should be included in the vision plugin since it is the same identical plugin...this thing will never happen because you play on people's stupidity...
We need printing audio fx in luna in the next update or something like audio suite in protools.
For now, you can use the Mixdown feature and then just drag the file back in.
what up hell yeah
Again why we miss Luna Office Hours Drew ha
Yeah, me too!!! Maybe someday we'll get it going again. 🤞
Need A dedicated browser for loops and samples❤❤
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Love the audio workflow and the sound. The midi though doesn’t cut it. I’m a songwriter that needs to quickly produce demos at home. I’ve played with luna from day one but maybe I have to accept it is not for people like me. Shame, as it has much going for it.
Personally I see Luna as a mixing tool rather than a one-stop shop that does everything. I'm looking to take a pre-worked out arrangement and mix it in Luna.
I make my living as a songwriter and use Luna for everything at the creative level. I can produce anything I want as quick;y as I can create and play it. What else do you need ?
My fave feature is the community driven updates !
Cmon UA, you need to prioritize a hardware insert plugin for us hybrid mixers. Until then I won’t ever considerLuna as my DAW. It’s ridiculous already how long it’s taken. And comp recording is also one feature you’re way behind on.
Yup!! Two of the highest requested features for sure! We hear you!
@@UniversalAudio How many years have you been trotting out that disingenuous response and never, ever delivering it? UA can't seriously call LUNA a DAW without hardware inserts, the most basic requirement of any DAW. Just be honest, that's what people want.
Only thing I dont like about it is I can't drag my vocals from garageband into luna, I want to record in garageband and mix/engineer in Luna... I have to like drag each wav into desktop and from there put it into Luna, but then I have to retime all of my wav tracks, I wish I can just drag and drop my vocals from garageband into luna without hastle
Hardware insert Pleaseeee 🙏🙏
we need hardware inserts!
Where’d u get that shirt lol I want one
There are so many features LUNA doesn't have I don't even know where to start. I'm actually surprised this DAW is already out for a couple of years. All the summing stuff is cool, but not having a basic hardware insert is just insane to me.
If you look at the development timelines of various DAWs, LUNA is actually being developed faster than any of them.
@@UniversalAudio That could be, but in those days you didn't have a lot of other daw's that could do a whole lot more. The only reason people would use LUNA now, is because it plays nice with their UAD stuff, which is of course the goal; getting people into the eco system. All good of course. It just baffles me that after years this DAW can do so little, not something I woukd have expected from a company like yours.
Are 3rd party plugins compatible?
Yes!! All AU on Mac and VST3 on Windows.
@@UniversalAudio Thanks. VST3s also on Macs? I'm currently using VST3 plugins (mostly) with Ableton Live.
No, AU for now, but that may change, stay tuned.
I need real time monitor feature for windows version!
We have this now with an Apollo, just like on the Mac.
DUAL MONO PLEASSSSSSSEEEEEE
Very good sound but unfortunately for music production it is still weak. The day it has all the features of Pro Tools, it will be the best DAW on the planet!
Cubase
not for me! too much headache with all that nonsense. end of the its a plugin saturation. not really tape just becasue the grpahics show a tape
There's a lot of things that need to be added before you can work on them professionally
We're always working hard to improve LUNA but LOTS of people are using LUNA for pro work now.
Really ? Guess I have been in the wrong job for 45 years. Thanks for you valuable input.
@@UniversalAudio I am referring mainly to the version for Windows ... the management of the external hardware is cumbersome but above all with a serious lack of latency compensation, ara 2 for me is very important and speeds up the work, the multi midi for the management of a drum in separate tracks, the management of the midi is very minimalist, these are just a few things that at least for me are very important ... surely it will become an excellent daw but for the moment in my opinion it must increase many things .....

Honestly, not going to cut the mustard. Slate VCCs etc and Waves NLSs does the job. Built in summing? Like HEAT?
