We sang this for our high school graduation 38 years ago, and today I wanted to hear it, it's so beautiful. I was looking for clarity and perspective. Thank you!
My aunt plays piano, and she played and sang this a lot when I was a little girl. I once asked where I could buy it on tape, (this was in the mid 80s). She laughed and said I couldn't, because it was just sheet music. I'm glad to see it's been recorded.
This is still one of my favorite choral pieces. Nancy sang it so beautifully. I still feel honored that she was my chorus teacher way back at Guilderland High School in the 1980-81 school year.
I have loved this song for most of my life. We sang this In choir at Jennings elementary in 1995 and I was afraid to sing out loud so I lip synced instead. It’s one of my core memories as I often think about it and wish that I had sang my heart out.
So happy to have found a recording of this song! I used to go to a wonderful camp in Maine every summer with my father, and this was one of the favorite songs everyone would often sing together during dinner - that was 25 years ago and it has stuck with me ever since. My father has since passed away, but this song always brings back fond memories. Thank you for writing and sharing this, and God bless!
Don Besig and Nancy Price, love their songs, this one is an " out of this world" music. God bless them, they are God's gift to the world of spiritual music!
So beautiful song! its meaning, melody,.. blend with the beauty of nature. Very Inspiring and heart warming. Thanks for sharing this wonderful song. God bless you always Sir Don Besig.
Bravo! The beautiful melody and Nancy's voice go so well together. It's a fantastic combination. I want to continue to work hard and sing your songs beautifully. It really resonates with my heart. Your songs always flow like a calm wave and feel like you're arriving on a beautiful island someday. Thank you for the beautiful songs and songs.
@@DonBesig Hello, composer. I dedicated the song "Let us serve Him" to Mass time. You've always left me comments and listened to me. I was wondering if you didn't like the song. Please give me feedback if there is anything lacking. I always love your songs and want to sing them well.
I just read this and left a comment on your video of “Let Us Serve Him”. You certainly never disappoint with your lovely singing and sensitive performances!
@@DonBesig I always appreciate your kindness and consideration.I'm worried if I put pressure on you. Please consider me your big fan.^^ If you don't mind, is there any song that you can do during the Lent? I looked up a lot but I couldn't find the right song.
Muy hermosa canción. La vamos a cantar en mi coro en un concierto que tenemos en mayo/24. Pero debo hacer aquí una observación: los subtítulos aparecen con retraso no están al mismo tiempo que con la voz
Hello, I am looking to arrange this beautiful song into a purely instrumental/ensemble version. Would you mind telling me how to obtain the permission? Thanks!
Dear Don and Nancy, thank you for creating this beautiful clip! I sang this song while I was in high school choir and absolutely love the lyrics. Your vocals are great Nancy, definitely the best I heard so far. Do you and Don mind if I use part of this clip for teaching in a class? I found the lyrics to be very inspiring for the human spirit.
Thank you, Zara, for your kind words. By all means, use this video in your teaching if you wish! If you want to communicate directly with me, please use: dbesig@rochester.rr.com. You will need to type the address into your mail - the link doesn’t seem to work!
@@DonBesig Thank you so much Don! You reply so fast!!! And thanks so much for your generosity :) This is one of the most inspiring and meaningful songs I sang in my life. Blessings from sunny island Singapore.
Hi, Chris. Yes this is an original song I wrote as a choral piece for my choir when I was teaching. It was copyrighted in 1979 - not sure where you got the 1965 date. I began both teaching and writing in ‘58, but this came 20 years later - one of the last songs I wrote before starting to collaborate with Nancy Price. Glad you like it!
@@DonBesig Well my eyesight is not 100%. SO..., possibly I was looking at the title of one song, being this one, then unknowing looking at the vital stats, like year of publishing(1965) of a completely different unrelated song; possibly from a whole other song writer. It often happens to people who misread stuff. BTW when I was in 8th grade in 1980-'81 my choral class performed this song, and I loved it then too. But I've always wondered who the original artist was. Looks like I know now.
@@DonBesig I first heard this song performed by a small group at Governor’s School of Virginia in the summer of 1983, back when Governor’s School was a summer program, rather than a year-long program, as it is today. It was a talent show near the end of the program to celebrate the time we had all spent together. It was sung and performed by three friends of mine, on piano, flute (only in between verses), and violin. Three friends I made there, with whom I lost contact, and sadly, I cannot even remember their names today, though I can still see their faces. Despite this being a song of joy, I was moved to tears. I had never heard anything like it. It is one of my favorite songs, and it is good to be able to hear it again after all these years. Thank you for this gift of magic, a gift of timeless beauty, which you have bestowed upon this Earth. 🙏🏻 ❤️

Thank you so much!
Is this the original? If so, it's great. And was this song REALLY written way back in 1965? Somehow that doesn't seem right/
