We all long for a distant sky without a cloud.
We all dream of a smooth ride through life without setbacks.
But the night is darkest just before the dawn.
The most beautiful rainbow comes after the biggest storm.
Neither natural nor manmade disasters can prevent us from moving forward.
We won’t let prejudice and discrimination push us away.
In the darkest night, we found the light by sharing our love with each other.
We observed the trust and support from strangers bringing people together.
We witnessed selfless brave souls on the frontline using their courage and sacrifice to light up hope for us.
We saw all the hardships and suffering right in front of us.
We faced it. We fought. We learned. We grew.
When we are no longer constrained by the shackles of prejudice and hatred can we be truly free to soar in the sky of our dreams.
Absolutely beautiful singing (and playing)! I hope you have enjoyed learning and sharing this song which I wrote over 40 years ago for the students in my school choir. I could not hope to hear it performed more expressively! Blessings, Don Besig

We sang this song every year in high school to send off the seniors. It has so many different meanings at different stages of your life... now that I'm older, it's even more beautiful. I sing it to my daughter at bed time and she sings along. One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Just love the lyrics and amazing as a virtual experience.
