You're apparently not aware that the site of Jerusalem is equally sacred to all 3 Abrahamic religions, and they all have a historical claim to it. The wailing wall which is said to be part of the Great Temple, the Golden Mosque, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre etc. So instead of fighting over who it 'really' belongs to, if we wanted it to TRULY be the 'sacred city', it should be like the Vatican. I visited Isreal in 2007 with the Mainse family of 100 Huntley Street, Burlington, Ontario. I bought a CD with this song on it. Iraeli music is hauntignly beautiful, a tone of sadness between the notes. And the upbeat celebratory songs set my feet a dancin' and my hands a clappin'. I pray for the peace of Jerusalem according to Psalm 122. I decree and declare that all land and boundaries given to Abraham, Issac and Jacob is being restored; no longer will the land be divided. The Holy City by John Starnes is also on the CD. As we were driving into Jerusalem one moonlit evening, the bus driver was playing that song on his CD player. I got goosebumps, and cried quietly. The presence of God was so overwhelming.

This song was first made and stamped on a vinyl record on May 11th, 1967, and was widely known on May 15th of that same year, just 21 days before the start of the 1967 six day war against Egypt, Jordan, and Syria, and right on the 19th anniversary of Israel's becoming a nation. It served as a morale booster for the IDF. The Bible says that your young men will see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. At the time, both the young men's visions, and the old men's dreams were identical, which was the restoration of the "Old City" of Jerusalem to become whole, and come back into Israeli hands. The people, both young and old, saw the upcoming war as the war of redemption and restoration. You're apparently not aware that the site of Jerusalem is equally sacred to all 3 Abrahamic religions, and they all have a historical claim to it. The wailing wall which is said to be part of the Great Temple, the Golden Mosque, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre etc. So instead of fighting over who it 'really' belongs to, if we wanted it to TRULY be the 'sacred city', it should be like the Vatican. I visited Isreal in 2007 with the Mainse family of 100 Huntley Street, Burlington, Ontario. I bought a CD with this song on it. Iraeli music is hauntignly beautiful, a tone of sadness between the notes. And the upbeat celebratory songs set my feet a dancin' and my hands a clappin'. I pray for the peace of Jerusalem according to Psalm 122. I decree and declare that all land and boundaries given to Abraham, Issac and Jacob is being restored; no longer will the land be divided. The Holy City by John Starnes is also on the CD. As we were driving into Jerusalem one moonlit evening, the bus driver was playing that song on his CD player. I got goosebumps, and cried quietly. The presence of God was so overwhelming.
The tears of the jewish people were answered by God with the establishment of the state of Israel. The dream and hope of 2000 years got fulfilled. God bless Israel. Amen

Every time I watch and listen to this video, I cry like a baby, and I'm over 60 years old. This song was first made and stamped on a vinyl record on May 11th, 1967, and was widely known on May 15th of that same year, just 21 days before the start of the 1967 six day war against Egypt, Jordan, and Syria, and right on the 19th anniversary of Israel's becoming a nation. It served as a morale booster for the IDF. The Bible says that your young men will see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. At the time, both the young men's visions, and the old men's dreams were identical, which was the restoration of the "Old City" of Jerusalem to become whole, and come back into Israeli hands. The people, both young and old, saw the upcoming war as the war of redemption and restoration. As I continue to understand that this great nation, the apple of God's eye: Israel is protected by God and by America, I can see why God blesses the USA. It's because we bless Israel. Woe be unto us all if it ever stops.
