excuse me..I just got the Alesis Q88 MKII controller...Because I was convinced that the installation was as straightforward as it is with the Q 25... But I see that it doesn't sound..And it is necessary to waste time registering.Maybe they don't know that not all of us have a fast web connection....Anyway.I registered the product on your site...But everything is blocked because they force us downloading all those programs...After 3 hours..I still can't use my controllers....Let me tell you something "This way of doing things is not smart"...Now could you please tell me How should I proceed to use my controller..? I can't understand what I have to do...The indication in your manual is useless..Because it refers to the peripherals menu of my music program...But in my Cubase there is a list of controllers and synthesizers. very partial.. and the Q88 is not present... But then, why does the alesis Q25 work directly... and the Q 88 doesn't ?

Got a question: Have you been able to get the midi out working? Just got mine and trying to run an older QSR rack module. The module will not receive anything, I have changed midi channels, did a reset etc. If I send it out of the usb out through my usb to midi host, it works perfectly. I would just like to keep it simple and plug from midi out to midi in, it has a midi out, so technically, should work. Thanks in advance for any help.
Hi! It should work from MIDI out to MIDI in. I also have a korg rack and I use my MIDI cable without any problem. It might be a fault on the cable or the IN port from your rack. There is a volume fader at the left top of the Alesis, sometimes when I connect my MIDI I have to move it down and then up for the rack to pick up the gain. If this problem persist I strongly suggest you to get a technician to have a look at it. P.D I would stay using the USB port for now specially because it's better in terms of data transmission 🙂
@@paudiblu4536 thanks for getting back to me so quick, okay good to know. There is another guy on a forum on Sound on Sound that is going through the same thing, the post is only a couple of months old. He has even returned the one he got and got a replacement q88 and the problem remains. I have tried different midi cables as well. The USB to midi host is usb to midi 5 pin din and that works perfectly so I don't think that it is the midi in connector itself on my Alesis QSR module. But I haven't tried the volume fader idea. Thanks again, Mike
Hi! I wouldn't recommend this one for practice since the keys are not weighted. If you can get in your hands a keyboard with weighted keys then that will be your best choice. This MIDI keyboard is more orientated for music production, it works great for MIDI strings programming, drum programming, pads, lead solos and other synths. If you have any more question please feel free to ask me, I hope this has been helpful 🙂
@@priandana1329 You must assign it by pressing the button "Advance" Then using the keys "Transpose 0" And Transpose +" To go up or down semitones. The details are better explained in the manual and you can google it for free.
It is pretty sensitive actually (keys are not heavy). I wouldn't recommend it for piano players. In the other hand it feels great with synths Vsts or leads 🙂

Is it good getting this midi for practice and learning instead of buying keyboard 61 keys with the same budget?
