For the last 2-3 years I’ve used 2 controllers: Studiologic SL88GRAND and Nektar P6. I added the SL Mixface so I could have additional faders and buttons for a few controls. It’s been great.
I feel that Studiologic has one of the best weighted keybeds on the market. I’m sure their next iteration will be include MIDI 2.0.
Nektar P6/P4 have great daw integration that I find myself using often to find tune plugins, recording and overdubbing work flow. They also have one motorized fader for recording automation. It’s also a decent for playing organ vsti’s once you midi learn the functions.
These have worked well for me and I haven’t really needed anything else.

Does it have aftertouch? Or does the midi 2.0 make aftertouch negligible?

The only drawback i see is the lack of sticky mod wheel. Which is why i like roland fantom08 (but no AT) cause it has both joystick and traditional mod wheel. For me i settled on komplete s88 and a roland a800 or a49. But quality of roland a88 is probably better than either arturia and s88 keybed. I already have sticky key on komplete s88 (don’t seem be durable at all)

I do wonder which you prefer (in action) between the "almighty" VPC-1 and the A-88 MK2, but I think I already know the answer.

VPC-1 all day everyday…I still have it in my live room and I use it for performance stuff…but everyday use…Roland A88

Bro, if you really only care about the feel of the keyboard, and you don't need a bunch of extra functionality, then the FP10 and FP30 by Roland have an identical key bed and are like half the price or less.

Question how is the keybed feel compared to the rd2000…I’ve touched the rd but have never had the opportunity to touch the a88

Very slow…I don’t like the PHA-4 compared to the Keybed on the RD2000

I played a roland fp nuvola( pha4) as costco recently and was FLYING , feels more like a light upright to me . Its fascinating the different perceptions between the pha4 and pha50 goes to show you
