The kind of artist you genuinely want to see blow up b/c they're doing shit no one else is doing; because they write poetry in verse; because they bare their soul.
Payton Fehrenbach a time signature is how many beats are in a bar. (There's more, but it's a lot to explain.) Count how many times you bob your head before sounds like it restarts. Here's an example with the lyrics of the song. 1 - Niggas want 2 - War with me 3 - Or really 4 - Nah 5 - (Pause) By 6 - Now, I'd Be 7 - Normally 8 - Done, But 9 - I'm On If you still don't get it, follow the drumbeat. (Sorry for the lacklustre explanation, I just woke up. Haha)
nah, that's what ruins it. He grounded in reality and that's what keeps him so poetic, with that lil bit of teenage angst. Fame would ruin it..but then again, Earl kept that angst and artistry without going mainstream. He doesn't seem too marketable so hopefully he stays on the low, steadily racking up streams, views, and shows to support his hustle
The most underrated rapper out there for sure, the like to dislike ratio is testament to that, although I agree part of the beauty is how similar the life Mike raps about is to the life of his fans, so maybe it is perfect.
Earl and MIKE know each other IRL, they've always influenced eachothers styles, no one ripped off the other, this is how new sounds happen, like-minded artists come together and create in similar styles, this has happened throughout all of history lol. I think it's more important to celebrate than to try to prove one is ripping off the other
MIKE I loved your Houston performance even though you got mixed up and thought we were Austin lol. I love your shit man keep it up. The Houston crowd didn't give you enough credit. Keep it up please 🙏
He won’t. Not because he isn’t fantastically talented. But because the masses don’t want to hear the truth. It forces them to face the reality they’re afraid of.
Steadily becoming more and more obsessed with MIKE, and what he is putting out, the more I hear from him .... Anyone suggest other works from slums or affiliated artists that I should check out .... thanks in advance
Death always win the race, nigga, depression isn't just a phase It's hard to dub the L when it's all up in your face Cough up in the race, caught up in the place Getting lost in these days, harder to place So I'm hard with the games and the stars hold my faith Father God and my name, y'all niggas calm and insane Watch his jaw get broken like a vase when it drop Papa think I curse too much, but y'all niggas think it's hot Waiting at the edge, wobble on a rock It's getting to my head, here's a bottle of Ciroc Always on the pavement, never with the flock Running 'til that gun pop, headed for the two like a jump shot Niggas want war with me, oh really? Nah By now would be normally done, but I'm on Niggas want war with me, oh really? Nah By now would be normally done, but I'm on Skin hard, it's like the car, walking through the desert We was searching for a god, small from afar Big when you come close, kinda like a star Hit like Mutombo headed for the ball You never seen the city rise, crumble into tar You never seen the city lifed up beneath the car Had to use the bathroom, so we treaded to the mall Can't tell my momma, so forget she ever called, nigga Never with some soft niggas, live by the dark side Next to Wycoff, nigga Schwig was a hard time, beginning of a loss, nigga Stuck up in that school, couple niggas tryna brawl with us I ain't even gangster but my boy letting off triggers He could lose it all, bro, he don't see a tall picture He can see his door close, nigga should've thought bigger

What do you mean by poetry “in verse” can you go more in depth? Do you mean like how it sounds like spoken word poetry ?
He's rapping in a 9/4 time signature......
That is actually sick
The Black Ryvius what’s 9/4 time signature mean??
