usually a lot of people would be making fun of the graphic but I really enjoy how open minded you are to the game considering this came out in the late 90's this game was amazing for its time.

Hello there! This is one of 'your gurls' watching you play one of her favourite games of all time. I've owned it since its initial release back in 1998 so been looking forward to watching this - we missed you! Sorry, I have so much to say! Wall of text incoming! Things that I missed in the remake were the environmental details; the colours are so vibrant and the locations genuinely look as if they were once full of life. The director uses the fixed camera angles to their full advantage, not just for suspense but for immersion too. I've always loved the soundtrack; you start to notice actual character themes as you progress throughout the game like you would in a movie. I highly recommend buying the original music add-on for the remake and swapping it out. It changes the entire atmosphere! Fun Fact: It's possible to blow zombies in half if you aim close at their waist, resulting in the torso crawling towards you and the legs wandering aimlessly for a few seconds! Sometimes, if you push a zombie too hard, their arms will stay attached to you. These mechanics were introduced in this game but sadly never brought back in later installments. You can also shotgun blast up to four zombie heads if they're close together - like in the 2F room with them munching on the floor. There are many items hidden within the environment, and not always in obvious places. For example, you can find bullets behind the Red Jewel statue, the cabinet in the save room under the stairs, and on the floor behind Wesker's desk. Also, there are enough small keys for every locked desk in the game, no wrong choices here! The S.T.A.R.S. office is a treasure trove for Easter eggs. Each desk has items relating to its owner. The brown 'Made In Heaven' jacket on the wall is worn by Chris as an alternate costume in RE1. Love that the design matches Claire's vest. The Gold Emblem from RE1's piano room is also in a box next to his desk. Jill's beret, Rebecca's med kit on the wall along with 'packed rookie boxes' next to it, Barry's gun parts as he's a weapons enthusiast. There's a 'special' treat if you search Wesker's desk 50 times - I'm sure somebody's already mentioned this though ^^. That's enough for now, see you next time :)

Remember getting this on PlayStation on release on 2 discs, one for leon scenario and one for claire scenario that i played over and over being so good, even better than the remake in my humble opinion and i must say this HD version really does look fantastic! My personal favourite game of all time.

Hello girl, good to see you again, hope everything is good on your side of the screen, here some tips and fun facts XD -You could grab the shotgun from Kendo's cold and dead hands, you got one later but is a good start specially against that first licker -As far as I know is still the 7 bullets to kill a zombie rule, but I also remember that black shirt males are thougher so be careful -Many people fell for the suitcase in the bus, there is nothing in there as far as I know. -You are actually doing the novels scenarios, Leon dealing with Birkin and Claire with Mr. X -Many things you do as Leon affect later to Claire's story, things left open or closed, things you take with you, etc... (dont worry, ammo doesn't count) -Headshots with the handgun in this game are basically imposibles, if you want headshots try the shotgun or magnum (Leon) and the grenade launcher (Claire) -I also remember (not confirmed) that the health of the zombies aparently reset if you leave the room -if you look closely and remember, the desk from right to left are Rebecca, Jill, Chris, Barry and Wesker in the main one, in the novel thet say that STARS shared desks (day and night shifts) so thats why there arent desk for the rest of the team. -the famous easter egg, check Wesker's desk 50 times -Yeah, the hands window.... the equivalent of the dogs window from RE1... and THAT other window from RE3... windows fetish Capcom? -The licker sound thing kind of work but is a little funky, my theory is that it only work if you dont make te step sound, like pressing slightly so the animation of walk start but stop before the sound start to play

Yesss queen!! I'm so hyped for this. I'm sure this has been stated enough but what always truly stands out in this game is the accompanying music which you've called out several times. RE music is just so iconic! I'm glad that the following remakes after 2 realized this and upped their game on including fresh remixes of the classic tunes.
can't wait to see you get to certain parts in this game, so this is a two part game, A with one character the you do B with the other to complete the story.
Resident Evil 2 is always a great choice! 😊 And since you were wondering about special items in RE1: In the original, Jill is actually the only one who gets one. She gets the lock pick and Chris... gets nothing. lol (In the RE1 remake Chris has the lighter from the start, though.)

Always hyped for retro survival horror. I would still rate the original Resident Evil over two, purely because it was the original. It defined what I expected from a resident evil game and survival horror in general. That's not a knock on two at all, it has everything that made the first game great (mansionesque police station, the same sort of puzzles and action), but with more zombies, more ammo, more story beats, and for the time a quite shocking intro (surrounded by fire and zombies and running through the streets, gun shop scene). Love them both. . .and Ada. Hell, I even loved the start of three. Exploring the city rather than a building, people still running around. It was just by mid game everything that wasn't nemesis felt inconsequential, and ultimately I was left disappointed by the experience overall. Anyways glad you are feeling better and back to uploading.
While the HD Project mod does make everything look very nice, some of the textures for certain signs (like the watch advertisement text being changed from "GLEAM" to "OGEAM" for some odd reason) and the strange choice of font for the notes tend to look pretty awkward. I think the huge chunks of space between some of the words is because of the formatting of the text, I get similar results when I set a document to "justified" in LibreOffice. I definitely prefer the typewriter font, and I think the overall grittiness and sharp edges of the original's pixelated graphics suits a horror game a bit better in my opinion. That being said, these are small gripes- the HD Project is a beast, and I give the modders huge ups for all their work, it really does look awesome.

First time I played this game I never meet nemesis til the window crash I got scared and I remember going to the movies and it was foggy near a church and a lady walking by she disappeared and I was scared of something would popped out those doors
@@labronzejade yeah you can get it early in the gun shop, it helps dealing with the first licker. you still end up getting another shotgun in the police station though
Although i do subscribe to the canon of Claire A - Leon B, it's mostly the same, as long as you play both. Compared to the remake, the A-B scenario thing is handled a bit better here, and more fun to do both back to back. Also while i'm not the biggest RE2 fan, compared to the first (i like the more horror vibes, compared to the big action movie they went with here), it's still an incredible game, that holds up well. Anyway, as always, glad to see more content from you.

Something in the inventory of this hd mod doesn't look right to me. Not sure why it bothers me so much. A part of me wish there were a way to play the game in hd except for the inventory
Will you be playing both scenarios? (Leon A/Claire B, and Claire A/Leon B), there are many more differences in between them than in the previous game (and the remake of 2), the story changes too quite a lot in some cases. Highly recomend playing both, specially since you decided to play Leon/Claire first. Also, about the limping, in Green you move and turn at max speed, at Yellow you run at top speed, BUT you turn slower (you wont be able to take sharp turns like in green), and in Red both speed and turning are slower. Also, soundtrack in the OG is waaaaay better than the remake (when they even bother having a soundtrack)
you could of killed them all together with only 2 bullets from the shotgun if you have just aimed at them normally .. but you shot their heads 1 by 1 individually .. which costed you 5 bullets & wasted more shotgun ammo :( unfortunately .. but its fine we live to learn aren't we 52:01
Hey there! 🤩 You can play it on the PC, or of course, by owning the actual hardware (the disc & PS1 or PS2) but assuming no hardware, I'd recommend playing it via the Dolphin emulator using the GameCube version of the game! (Or the SourceNext PC port. you never played this for the first time. you dodge far too well for that and know exactly where everything is coincidence? I don't think so, the game is super difficult if you don't know where to go and so on, you get through it far too well for that
Thank you for the compliments, but I have not played this before. It has been a fun and intuitive experience (great games usually are)! You may be noticing that my mechanics (like dodging) are decent because I have played the original RE1 on my channel and learned a lot there. I've also completed the remakes (disclaimer in description) on normal and harcore difficulty. I also know how to look for items in retro games, you gotta look in nooks and crannies and search everywhere/everything! So I am familiar with how to play (and in my opinion they aren't very difficult on normal difficulty).

-Headshots with the handgun in this game are basically imposibles, if you want headshots try the shotgun or magnum (Leon) and the grenade launcher (Claire)
-I also remember (not confirmed) that the health of the zombies aparently reset if you leave the room
-if you look closely and remember, the desk from right to left are Rebecca, Jill, Chris, Barry and Wesker in the main one, in the novel thet say that STARS shared desks (day and night shifts) so thats why there arent desk for the rest of the team.
-the famous easter egg, check Wesker's desk 50 times
-Yeah, the hands window.... the equivalent of the dogs window from RE1... and THAT other window from RE3... windows fetish Capcom?
-The licker sound thing kind of work but is a little funky, my theory is that it only work if you dont make te step sound, like pressing slightly so the animation of walk start but stop before the sound start to play

Always hyped for retro survival horror.
I would still rate the original Resident Evil over two, purely because it was the original. It defined what I expected from a resident evil game and survival horror in general. That's not a knock on two at all, it has everything that made the first game great (mansionesque police station, the same sort of puzzles and action), but with more zombies, more ammo, more story beats, and for the time a quite shocking intro (surrounded by fire and zombies and running through the streets, gun shop scene). Love them both. . .and Ada.
Hell, I even loved the start of three. Exploring the city rather than a building, people still running around. It was just by mid game everything that wasn't nemesis felt inconsequential, and ultimately I was left disappointed by the experience overall.

played the RE2 remake with the og soundtrack options was a treat for my second playthrough.
While the HD Project mod does make everything look very nice, some of the textures for certain signs (like the watch advertisement text being changed from "GLEAM" to "OGEAM" for some odd reason) and the strange choice of font for the notes tend to look pretty awkward. I think the huge chunks of space between some of the words is because of the formatting of the text, I get similar results when I set a document to "justified" in LibreOffice. I definitely prefer the typewriter font, and I think the overall grittiness and sharp edges of the original's pixelated graphics suits a horror game a bit better in my opinion. That being said, these are small gripes- the HD Project is a beast, and I give the modders huge ups for all their work, it really does look awesome.

Although i do subscribe to the canon of Claire A - Leon B, it's mostly the same, as long as you play both.
Compared to the remake, the A-B scenario thing is handled a bit better here, and more fun to do both back to back.
Also while i'm not the biggest RE2 fan, compared to the first (i like the more horror vibes, compared to the big action movie they went with here), it's still an incredible game, that holds up well.
Anyway, as always, glad to see more content from you.

Something in the inventory of this hd mod doesn't look right to me. Not sure why it bothers me so much. A part of me wish there were a way to play the game in hd except for the inventory
Will you be playing both scenarios? (Leon A/Claire B, and Claire A/Leon B), there are many more differences in between them than in the previous game (and the remake of 2), the story changes too quite a lot in some cases. Highly recomend playing both, specially since you decided to play Leon/Claire first.
Also, about the limping, in Green you move and turn at max speed, at Yellow you run at top speed, BUT you turn slower (you wont be able to take sharp turns like in green), and in Red both speed and turning are slower.
Also, soundtrack in the OG is waaaaay better than the remake (when they even bother having a soundtrack)
I THINK I will be playing both scenarios BUT I have a new plan for the next video! 🤫

Hey there! 🤩 You can play it on the PC, or of course, by owning the actual hardware (the disc & PS1 or PS2) but assuming no hardware, I'd recommend playing it via the Dolphin emulator using the GameCube version of the game! (Or the SourceNext PC port. you never played this for the first time. you dodge far too well for that and know exactly where everything is coincidence? I don't think so, the game is super difficult if you don't know where to go and so on, you get through it far too well for that
Thank you for the compliments, but I have not played this before. It has been a fun and intuitive experience (great games usually are)! You may be noticing that my mechanics (like dodging) are decent because I have played the original RE1 on my channel and learned a lot there. I've also completed the remakes (disclaimer in description) on normal and harcore difficulty. I also know how to look for items in retro games, you gotta look in nooks and crannies and search everywhere/everything! So I am familiar with how to play (and in my opinion they aren't very difficult on normal difficulty).
