    Cate Blanchett just absolutely slays everyone.
    Hot, articulate,intelligent,excellent actress...and definitely told the interviewer what she thought of that last question!

      I recommend looking at my playlist: Cate's VULGARITY the queen of.......
      Look closely at the queen, the goddess, elegant and refined ...
      Surely someone will come out excited !!! .......
      I wonder if in addition to her husband (voyeur) there were also children !!!....
      Cate lubricating the huge sex toy by simulating various sexual acts and much more for the new 50 year old porn diva .....
      ....Eccentric?
      Exhibitionist? Promiscuous? Surely!!! ........
      link all her vulgarity, sex and vaginal humor in her interviews .....
      1 + 1 = 2 The list would be too long.....
      But she is the QUEEN, the lady on the pedestal, elegant and refined, whatever she says or does !!!
      Be objective every now and then, the credit goes, where deserved and it is right, but not BEYOND !!! ..... Obviously it applies to everyone
      Trad google
      P.S il was your comments that made me think

    • @agbizz1
      @agbizz1 9 лет назад +94

      +PurpleNovels First, I respectfully disagreed. @2:10, Cate said clearly that women inequality pay is true all across the broad from Teachers to Bankers. She wanted to problem to be fixed already (aka "move on"). Cate Blanchett also made many documents and films about women/girls inequality.
      Second, in US, women get paid at best 73 cents to a dollar of a man. They also often don't executive jobs or better jobs, even when they are technically and intellectually qualified. This has been going on since the beginning of time, and it hasn't stopped.
      +Claire Miller , Thank you for the confirmation and your civility & courteousness.

    I'm always astonished by Cate's speaking voice. Her timbre and tone are so penetrating, and her articulation is flawless. She seems to use her full voice and knows how to project. That kind of command of one's speech (probably due in part to her theater training) is one of the few old remnants of the performing arts that I will miss when it's dies out.

    Ok, what Cate meant was "let's move on with THE PROBLEM." Fix it already. There are too many standards that creates inequality caused by unequal pay. Until that is fixed, nothing is going to change. That's my take.

    • @PaintbrushBristles
      @PaintbrushBristles 9 лет назад +10

      +agbizz It is fixed! Unequal pay doesn't exist anymore. Men do not get paid more doing the same job with the same experience, same qualification. It is discrimination and is illegal

    • @agbizz

Some people presume things are truth for all when it applies only to themselves and a small number of few, regardless of the contrary in mass majority. Neither USA, Australia, UK, and the rest of the world, women are treated equal. Bizarre but it is the way human are.

      +Thurman Ulrich that is not true. there is a large pay disparity between male and female actors. blanchett has been vocal in support of the power structure in hollywood. she wants to work and does not want to offend. she is happy doing the projects she does. she wouldn't be in the kinds of films where large paychecks come into play.
      if you want to hear someone talk about pay disparity search for salma hayek at a movie festival giving a talk about it. her dialogue is very different than the kind of attitude you see cate display here.
      cate is a fine actress but is in a special place and if i sum up everything i know about her she doesn't have to care about the struggles of actresses in hollywood.

    From the beginning I had impression this guy interviewer was trying so much to be ,,over the top" of them. There is some vibe about him trying to be as ,,man" up and they as women to be ,,down". There was something that didnt make me feel comfortable when listening him, and then the question in the end..omg wtf? He directly asked them if they get payed more than men, i.e. he asked them about their money. I have no words for this rudeness and unprofessionality. But..that showed who he is, and Cate's graceful answer proved once again how amazing and inspirational Cate Blanchett is.

      i was or rather am well aware of that, but i just tried to give Cates choice of words a "justification" since all of the commentators above understood arcane simply as a term for magic, which is why i bothered looking it up (at the time) and found it to be fitting hence making my own comment on "archaic not arcane" to express that "arcane" too is quite fitting in the used context

    I don't get it though, Cate's right that pay inequality is all over the place, not just in Hollywood, but what does she mean with "I can't believe we're still having the conversation" and "let's really move on?" This is something we should definitely keep talking about until we achieve it...!

    • @kooliejulie
      @kooliejulie 9 лет назад +23

      +CraftyJane I think she means that it's 2015 and it's archaic that we still have to have these conversations, that it's still an issue in this day and age.

    • @blahblah3485
      @blahblah3485 9 лет назад +4

      I watched a press conference where some guy asked about "strong women" roles being a new trend and she protested that in the same fashion (it was perfect! haha) so I understand her intention in answering to this interview better now. Thanks for your input too :)

    • @PaintbrushBristles
      @PaintbrushBristles 9 лет назад +3

      +CraftyJane She said move on because It doesn't exist anymore. Men do not get paid more doing the same job with the same experience, same qualification. It is discrimination and is illegal. Cate actually has the knowledge that most feminist lack. These radical feminists are idiots and refuse to take responsibility for their own downfall.

    • @blahblah3485
      @blahblah3485 9 лет назад +15

      PurpleNovels you must be kidding... luckily it's changing, but women DO still get paid less than men for doing the same exact job, with same qualifications (black women get even less). Culture is a slow-changing thing you see, so it will take time to change it, expecting an overnight change would be unrealistic. But to deny it's happening it's just absurd. Have you never heard of the glass-ceiling? or the glass escalator? Look around, it's happening in MANY fields still.

    • @PaintbrushBristles
      @PaintbrushBristles 9 лет назад +1

      CraftyJane Not true at all. Companies CANNOT do that and they don't.IT IS ILLEGAL. All job applications even state that they do not discriminate based on race sex religion and gender. Now if it is some unheard of, private workplace no one knows about, then maybe (but not likely).

    That annoying dude from BBC Breakfast TV is way out of his league here, and he's provocative in a funny passive aggressive way. No wonder Cate looks bored out of her skull, she's normally very engaging and funny in interviews. It's majorly awkward and not enjoyable to watch, Cates observations are on point, but it's the interviewer, just no.
