This was actually the first video that introduced me to ASMR. Now I'm addicted and watch it every day. I think that Safiya's factual explanation of ASMR led me to perceive ASMR differently than I would have if I just stumbled upon it on my own. Thank you so much Saf!
She's amazing. I don't know if you're into makeup at all but JenLuvsReviews is by far the most in-depth "beauty guru" I've ever heard of. The really heavy amount of research she does into products, ingredients, companies, pricing, new launches, etc. It's crazy & amazing.

Okay if Safiya actually had a channel dedicated to ASMR I'd literally not miss a single video. I went back and forth to being relaxed and then straight to laughing and then back to relaxed. 😂
The ASMR portion is actually pretty legit, and both parts were cool. Instead of treating the whole thing like a joke like most RUclipsrs, you did a good job making it funny and very Safiya, but with plenty of tingles and respect.
We gotta appreciate the fact that Safiya was actually interested about learning the science behind ASMR and didn't just get a mic,a camera and a piece of paper and started calling herself an ASMRist like some other people on RUclips
As someone who loves ASMR and listens to it every night to help with insomnia I think you did a great job. I hate when youtubers make fun of it or dismiss it as weird. Also learning some history about ASMR was interesting ❤️

I like the wet sounds like the clear plastic pants but I don’t like the idea of someone chewing obnoxiously in my ear or licking something. That’s gives me the tingles but NOT the good ones 😂
I like bubbles and hair washing, and I recently started liking the 'wood soup' ones, but I super agree! It just makes me feel like they don't understand ASMR, but I'm sure it's there for someone else. I just wish there were better tags for 'genres of ASMR'.

RUclips searched "saf tries asmr" and came here. It's so nice to hear a whisper from a voice that's comfortable to you xD Sounds really good, put me to sleep instantly! :D
My issue with the whispering is you ether can’t make out what the are saying or it kind of grating because they force it to much Saf hit the spot just right

Thank you SO much for doing the asmr community right 👏👏👏 From the videos i've seen/ my experiences, so many of these "i tried" videos end up mocking & providing misinformation of asmr, without realizing there are real people with valid reasons to enjoy watching or creating asmr. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a lot of the "i tried asmr" videos myself. And I understand asmr may seem silly at first glance, and nothing is safe from humour, but the scales were seriously out of balance. I truly hope more videos attempt to spread asmr positive messages, and, with a bit more empathy & knowledge, lightheartedly poke some fun at it. This was amazing 🙌💙

I’m glad I’m not the only one that hates mouth sounds and ‘wet’ sounds. It’s like listening to someone eating with their mouth open and that’s one of my pet peeves
I don’t mind it in asmr (I’d rather not have the mouth sounds) but if I heard that in real life I’d be annoyed and angry. I had a teacher who used to make the sounds when she talked and the amount of times I’ve wanted to throw my book at her lol

Could be the self-awareness. As much as I love asmr, sometimes it can get a little too weird, and when she just goes, "yeah. This can get weird." It's refreshing. :) at least, that's my take on it.
It’s been a year since this video was posted, but I keep coming back to it. I can never make it through this entire video. Not because it’s annoying, but because Safs normal voice is so soothing to me that this just calms me into sleep. I have never made it passed the clear plastic pants before falling asleep.
I love how deep you go when you make these types of videos. Most other RUclipsrs just eat a bunch of food and think it’s ASMR, but you do research and try to really understand your topic❤️❤️I love your videos.

The ASMR portion is actually pretty legit, and both parts were cool. Instead of treating the whole thing like a joke like most RUclipsrs, you did a good job making it funny and very Safiya, but with plenty of tingles and respect.

I personally hate talking asmr, where they *whisper into your ear and it sounds really creepy* but i need to fall asleep so i was like, Wait, what about that vid Safiya did? RUclips searched "saf tries asmr" and came here. It's so nice to hear a whisper from a voice that's comfortable to you xD Sounds really good, put me to sleep instantly! :D

Thank you SO much for doing the asmr community right 👏👏👏 From the videos i've seen/ my experiences, so many of these "i tried" videos end up mocking & providing misinformation of asmr, without realizing there are real people with valid reasons to enjoy watching or creating asmr. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a lot of the "i tried asmr" videos myself. And I understand asmr may seem silly at first glance, and nothing is safe from humour, but the scales were seriously out of balance. I truly hope more videos attempt to spread asmr positive messages, and, with a bit more empathy & knowledge, lightheartedly poke some fun at it. This was amazing 🙌💙
