Ehh the fan designs tend to be too typical of whats "cool" in the popular sense. I also dont tend to agree with designs that are mostly loved. I feel fans have as much trouble trying to find designs that feel new or memorable. Theres a lot of skeledirge designs that make it look like another charizard. Fans can pull off from what was done before but I honestly get tired of that.
Yeah the Fuecoco line may not exactly be my favorite starter line ever... but it's LEAGUES better than the other two this gen. The evolution lines for the other two are just ridiculous.

Tbh furcoco is my favorite starter out of this gen, he's so derpy looking, but that makes him adorable! And not only did miko-chi choose my favorite starter, but she broke RNG to get a female starter... grass miko-chi!

Because there are many starters that stand up on 2 legs as they evolve, people got really mad when Litten, a Pokemon that pretty much everyone originally wanted to stay on all fours, was revealed to evolve into Incineroar. I feel like Incineroar kinda grew on people at this point, but the initial reaction was.. less than positive.
