I mean, generally speaking, you shouldn't make a portal bigger than what you intend to fit through it, on the off chance that something comes out from the other side. I know that can't happen in Minecraft, but im general, i wouldn't want anything that big, unless i could turn it off and on at thw flip of a switch.
Things do come out of nether portals lol, piglins, hoglins, etc. Iirc if the portal is big enough, which this one definitely is, ghasts can come through as well.
