I got castrated at 11 years old by big pharma. They handed me different SSRI:s like candy throughout my entire puberty up until 24 years of age when I understood that I was damaged. These medications are the worst kind of band aid that could ever be used! So you’re right, there needs to be Drs who are prepared to get to the root cause of the mental illness.
IMO, 99% of all psychiatric illnesses come from some form of trauma; and that’s what I believe can alter our brain chemistry. A drug cannot fix that! Psych conditions are not a chemical imbalance in the brain either, as Dr Josef has done a video on that. We’ve been sold a lie.

When I was on lexapro, it very negatively effected everything sexual for me. One of the reasons I got off lexapro was because I believed I would stay single and a virgin for the rest if my life. That was how much it effected everything that had to do with sexuality.

I was on and off meds during most of my teen years. At 17/18 I went on Paxil. I didn't like how it made me feel and got off it as quickly as I could. I was not the same after that. Horrible anxiety. Had a hard time falling asleep because my heart was beating so hard it was keeping me awake.
I ended up on Lexapro and was on that for about 12 years. I was very numb, had a lot of brain fog. I was stuck in limbo. Eventually got on Zoloft and my new doctor started me on 50MG, moved me up to 75MG. I have been adjusting for about a year and a half. I had really bad anxiety for awhile. I had a few times where I almost had a hypertensive crisis due to the anxiety attacks (woke up one night with a nosebleed).
So far, am feeling better with a lower dose of roughly 62.5mg. May still have years until I am fully off. This medication change, plus getting of off wheat (wheat/gluten was also giving me brain fog and headaches, I have an intolerance to it) has given me a much clearer head.

I really do understand what you’re saying, but in defence of Dr Josef, he has interviewed a vast amount of people who have suffered terribly from having taken, and tried to come off Benzo’s, antidepressants and a few other drugs… I have watched so many of them, and have seen that Dr Josef is gaining a lot of understanding on what’s happening to us…
He first realised there was a problem with psych meds whilst working as a Medical (?) Officer at the FDA… One could imagine he would be receiving a lot of back lash from the Psychiatric community for speaking out about these meds.
No one speaks out against big pha*ma without consequence, and he would know that… Fortunately there are a few Psychs who are on this path with him, and I had to find one. I’m in Australia and had to send an email to Dr Josef, to see if there was anyone here in Australia that could help with tapering. I found one in another state, so still need to hook up with him. This particular Psychiatrist had been on antidepressants himself, and after attempting to come off them, had become sui*idal… Of course lived experience is always better than anything else, but Dr Josef has looked right into the effects of these drugs, and is putting himself on the line for us.
There is another RUclips channel called ‘Medicating Normal’ which has interviews of Drs etc, and may be helpful to you. These people made a Doco movie by the same name, which I’m yet to watch.
I hope this was helpful for you 🙏
