I’m a survivor of PAWS from my idiot doctor telling me I’ll be fine dropping my duloxetine (cymbalta) 30mgs to zero. What a dickhead. And then all the gaslighting began. 5 years 9 months later I still have some symptoms. I think when you go to hell and back its difficult to fatham the suffering of those yet to come from this criminal activity that’s goes on in a doctors office. ❤️✌🏻to all those that are suffering right now 🇦🇺
I'm pleased that you recognised post-withdrawal symptoms which can manifest months after a patient has been completely off antidepressant meds. I suffered both the acute and long-term withdrawals, which in many cases is blamed on the mental illness returning.
Dude. I'm still withdrawing from a 25 year Paxil usage. It has been 8 months......it has been brutal!!! One thing I've noticed is an all consuming rage - lasting 2-3 months. I'm told to expect symptoms for 2 years or longer!
@aprildawnmeans2663 Sorry for the late reply. My rage simmered down quicker than the other withdrawal symptoms. One thing that helped me ( all people react differently) was /is magnesium citrate. It gives me a short break in symptoms of a few hours.
And why are these meds still being Rx ..ooooo I forgot money the more I listen to the good Dr and we need him, the more I realize how f ..up psychiatry is and the whole profession should be dis manttled
Cymbalta is such a long wean off process for me, to the point I find you have to open the capsule and wean down gradually taking a few of the beeds over time. Also you can get it in liquid form for final wean down in the states. I am only on 20mg and weaning off of these for the 3rd time in my life. I am on 20mg weaning down for about a month now. Tried to stop three days ago but the brain wants it's cymbalta beeds so just broke down and took a few. Wish they could figure this wean off part and not make it so hard. Perhaps it is hard so they can continue to sell this drug and make their profits. Would not be a shocker if that is what was happening. I also want to eat everything in site, not good for the spring beach season coming up. I would not recommend going cold turkey could be some danger involved in that.
When I CT'd 60mg Cymbalta after being on it for about a decade, I had mild withdrawal effects for like 2 months. Just lots of brain zaps and some nausea... but somewhere around the 2 month mark, a wave of full-blown akathisia came over me, and it stuck with me, and it was complete hell on Earth for a good month, nonstop. I was lucky in the fact that I was able to go back on, and the akathisia went away after 3 weeks. Though it did make me even worse at first. I did end up feeling ok again. I've been scared to even try to taper off of it since then.
Ruined? I’m on 15 mg (or more) nightly after over 10 years. Just went through hell for 6 months going off clonazepam. This one guy in Sweden has a video recommending “tapering strips” for a super slow taper for Mirtazapine. Sorry to hear that.
As a recovering opioid addict I was prescribed suboxone and told it would be a long term prescription which I was not ok with. I was encouraged to taper up to the highest dose allowed for Cymbalta to treat chronic pain. After many horrible side effects and a couple suicide attempts I am now a few months free of all psychiatric meds. I tthank you for your content. You are one of the few voices in the medical industry that I trust. You tell the truth.
@@truckingwithtobee Cymbalta is an antidepressant. I was told by medical staff that high doses of antidepressants would help with chronic pain. Antidepressants long term are very harmful

Been off a few SSRI & SNRI, I can say Paroxetine was the worst for me, 2nd would be Desvenlafaxine, you get over the extreme dizziness and sick feeling after about 2 weeks (cold turkey) , But The other side effects have lasted much longer, I have never felt such rage like I do when coming off an antidepressants it's unbelievable and stays around for some months.
Hello, I hope someone can please answer or comment if they went through similar things as im going thru. I have been tapering down paxil 30mg, I want to be off meds that i have been taking for over 10 years. 2 days ago was my last pill of paxil. The withdrawal symptoms were somehow bearable at first while tapering down. Now its been 2 days meds free, I have none stop severe brain zaps, dizziness, weird eye movement accompanied by sensors disturbance in my head, I cant go out from the house, i constantly need assistance. Im so tired, muscle pain everywhere, crying spells, extreme anxiety and confusion As if im disoriented and disassociate from my entourage. I am ready to push through but did anyone get it and got better after ? I am not sure how long will i be able to handle this, please someone tell me they went thru this and it will go away in some time and i will be better.
Yes! Hopefully you titrate down slowly, like over many months to even a year or longer! Those were my withdrawal symptoms as well. It DOES get better. I'm almost 1 year off. Still struggling, but definitely better .❤
Is it possible to get PAWS when you’ve been on one antidepressant say for 30 years and then the doctor switches you to another antidepressant with basically no taper? I’ve been experiencing exactly this for 4 months now and it’s a living. nightmare. Doc just wants to give me more meds to counter the symptoms. I’ve refused but am in a situation where I have no idea where to turn.
I'm currently going through Diazipam withdrawl and really suffering. I'm thinking about taking an antidepressant because most of my symptoms are mental anxiety/depression etc. I'm not sure if it'll make me better or worse but I'm getting desperate. I had a bad experience going on and coming off sertraline though so was thinking of trying something that wasn't an ssri. After watching this though I'm really not sure as apparently the symptoms are worse. Medication really is a mine field.
I’m so scared. 60 mg of Cymbalta once a night for a few years. Ran out a couple of nights ago. Can’t get ahold of my prescriber. I’m diagnosed bipolar but kind of doubt it was as bad as people thought. I don’t even know if I really am bipolar. I had lots of anxiety and menopausal issues. I’m taking Benadryl and my normal dose of seroquel and clanasapam. Pray for me.
Viibryd is really bad I was having Interdose withdrawals every 12 hours a psychiatrist put me on 40 mg in the morning 40 mg at night. I was also told this could abruptly stop that med. hah that has wd. Whenever you come off that drug you, itch and itch, and all the other withdrawal symptoms close to the same as a benzo.
Thankfully I guess I react horribly to all psych meds straight off and haven’t been able to take anything other than buspar more than a few days. I also despise benzodiazepines
