Don't do this. By connecting the speakers this way you are increasing the load on an already low output system. Also from the looks of it, you have added this speaker to either the left or the right channel. This will completely put off the sound balance. The amp and dsp are there for a reason. Pro Logic and B&O use proprietary algorithms for staging the sound which are functions of the amp and not the head unit. If you are looking for better sound quality on the base stereo then please just upgrade the speakers. And next time remember to spend a little extra and get the upgraded audio.
Hi Basil. Thanks for the info. The instructions sent by the seller must have been wrong :(
Very good point Basil ❤️
Thank you Abbas for teling us this information
Gibt es den eine bessere Lösung wo man es verkabeln/anschließen kann ?
thank you very much for your video, i help a lot to install the tweeters and the center speaker in my BMW 5.
You're welcome Antonio!
Hi, I'm struggling to find the video where you fit the door tweeters. Mine does bot have any at the moment so can I just buy and install easily. I'm not very techi so don't want to do any cutting or shaving wires. Cheers
Which wires on the radio cos your hand is shielding the view on which wires you have connected on?
can i do this on a BMW E92?
Hi, can you please tell me where you connected the wires for the center speaker in the end?
Cheap way to instal center speaker is :
Positive cable from center speaker goes to positive front right speaker
And negative cable from center speaker goes to negative cable from left front
This way makes bridge in the front left and front right speakers 🔊
Should make nice surround sound
But I didn’t test it yet
I want to add this way on Audi A4 b8
Thanks Olindor for the tip!
Do i have to do all of this if im simply replacing the blown out speaker ?
No blown ones you can just plug out
At 2:09 how did you know it was them two wires, im in stages of doing same thing to a bmw f32 but not sure what wires to tap in to
I've just opened my centre dashboard speaker cover and I've seen mine is also missing. I am having difficulty seeing what connections you used to connect the new speaker. There are no factory wires in my dash so where do I wire the new speakers to?
I followed the instructions on the manual. At 2:05 , i splice the wire and tap on it. It seems like the speaker wire for the rear speakers. So far so good :)
I love your videos, can you start leaving links or at least the name of products that you use to replace. Thanks!
Sure. Will do so in the next videos. Thanks for advice :)
Added link. Please check it out.
Do you think this set up will take power from the other speakers? What are those two worries that you connected the new speaker?
Don't think so. So far it sounds ok to me.
I have a bmw 528i 2006 I bought a bmw 528i 2011 can my old speakers fit in my new bmw?
Hi. Sorry I don't have any idea if it works. Please try it on your new ride. Cheers.
Where can I get wire/adapter to connect to the car stereo??
These are the (rear right) speaker wires
Hi Samir. Thanks for the info. Yes they are wrong. You know which ones are the correct ones to connect to?
@@NETTNETTCLUBVIDEOs @olindor mentioned a cheap way of connecting Positive cable from center speaker goes to positive front right speaker And negative cable from center speaker goes to negative cable from left front
that would be
blue with red stipe for right +
Black with brown stripe for left -
@@samirsami570 thanks for the tip! 👍
My car is excatly same like yours, it doesnt come with centre speakers, so i tried to tape new wires into it and it comes too much sound from centre, which i can hear any surrounded sounds.. maybe I need amplifer??
mine sounds ok so far. But i'm looking at an amplifier too. Not sure how to install it though...
@@NETTNETTCLUBVIDEOs what i found down is my car has base stereo system, which the sound comes from headunit and doesnt have amplifier in trunk. To install amplifier, we need run a long wires from trunk to connect to headunit harness.. but im still looking for better solution.
Do you help to do installation?
Nope sorry. But its a relatively easy diy. Just buy it off the link in the description and you're halfway done :)
Solid connection. HAHAHAHA
Hi, does this dash speaker needs an amp to work properly?
Hey there! Just plug and play will do! It is a simple setup!
Harmon Kardon obviously needs an amplifier, you will barely hear anything from tweeter playing on the stock head unit...go for audison speakers they don't need amp.
@@paulsp2693 HK speakers do not need amplifier just like Audison speakers dont. Both have high sensitivity and will work just with the small power of the headunit.
Understand you just went for the cheapest option and I'm sure there was sound added so you say, it's better than what it was and your happy.
However just two notes...
Twisting wires and taping will give you on long term troubles, after a year or two you will experience clipping and vague unwanted sounds. At least do soldering next time to make it robust, if you're opening everything anyways, take that extra step.
Secondly, for sure the channel you took it from has different resistance, usually an underpowered unit can not handle providing that extra power continuously and you'll end up blowing up some internal resistor in the head unit. Better to go safe and use a real amp or dsp, they are made for delivering power and have much nicer and smoother cross overs. With the same speakers even, you'll feel ending up in different world of the audio.
Thank for the video tough!
Thanks for the advice! Have already added an dsp, amp and woofer. Check out my newer videos.
I’m pretty sure you can’t get away with just putting new speakers in and twisting wires together. There’s more to the system than that surely. Logic 7 surround?? Amplifier?? 🤷♂️
Yeah its just a cheap setup. So far it works well though. Much better than the stock paper ones...
@@NETTNETTCLUBVIDEOs did't You need to install TWO BAND filter?
@@Laimonas.Putnikas what's that?
if you only want to upgrade the speaker then you need to go for audison, audison sounds awesome on stock head unit, while harmond kardon don't work with stock head unit, you barlr hear anything from the tweeter
@@paulsp2693 amplifier coming soon, still considering the options :)
I check it up white brown and white red is from rear speaker left side
Yes. So far it sounds ok to me.
where did you find diagram explaining which wire is which? i am trying to find it, i want to connet this to rear left + and rear right -
Without an proper amp, you will have unbalanced sound. Or maybe you can add a passive filter self air & condensator
Hi Willys. Thanks for the advice. I have since added an amp, a subwoofer and a dsp after this video. Do check them out. Cheers.
Great effort. However please be careful because the HK speakers have a difference resistance and power specifications as compared to the base speakers. The HK speaker set up comes with a dedicated Logic 7 amplifier in the trunk with a cooling fan...whereas on your car there is no external amplifier...the idrive unit itself manages the sound. Now that you added 2 more speakers to your already overtaxed system....I will be very careful of fire hazards from the wiring or the headunit heating up.
Thanks Sunit for advice. Just added a dsp amplifier. Check our my new video released yesterday!
HK speakers don't have different resistance. All Bmw midrange speakers and tweeters have the same resistance of 4ohms. Only the subwoofer ohms change between different audio options.
The most important thing is, Harmon Kardon speakers only work with Harmon Kardon amplifier, you will barely hear anything from H7K tweeter playing on the stock head unit, please don't waste your money on H7K speakers and regretting it afterward...if you only want to upgrade bmw speakers without adding an amplifier then you should go for audison and for bmw f10 its "AP BMW K4M(front and rear) AP BMWK4E in doors.....you will never regret buying audison component speakers for you bmw they sound hell awesome.
Will check that out. Thanks !
That is not true. If you do not have basic knowledge of audio technics and physics, do not fool people around misleading them into a specific system. Pure marketing here!! Each speaker, disregarding the brand, has a power input it can handle, the resonance frequency and input impedance. Once these are followed the sound will be OK. HK speakers on base head unit are just fine.
@@karoltrup280 did you tried that kind of setup? I am sure you didn't....while I tried installing HnK tweeters on-base head unit and there was barely any sound on tweeters. then I went for audison one.
Hi Paul, can you please explain what is the difference between k4m and k4e Audison speakers ? As I can't see any difference in specs. Thank you!
@@bastaboom163 K4M have separate tweeter and crossover, while k4E will have tweeter in the centre of the speaker with no crossover box
so u tapped into one of the channels? left or right, now it will sound like crap, as you will have more sound coming from the left channel or right channel.. No more stereo effect.
Yes. I was just following the installation instructions given for the seller and it's working fine. You know the correct connection?
Good story bro
stopped watching after the twist and tape connection XD
Sorry for that. I was just following a set-up video sent by the seller. I was already halfway in and overly excited. Will take note :)
Me to.. I think it’s easier, better and safer with a “plug and play”
@@ionitzaish yes i agree. just that my f10 did not even come with a centre speaker at all. So i had no wires to "plug and play" except to tap on another wire :(
@@ionitzaish doesnt have to be plug and play, but when you do have cables like that you should solder the connection
@@NETTNETTCLUBVIDEOs so you connected the center speaker to the cable for the rear speaker? There was no connection for the center speaker? In that case maybe the equipment is not meant for so many speakers..
Not ok
I hate thios tutorial... ''conecct wires to ''THIS'' ? What the hell is this? You need to explain what you did, and explain which wires are that exactly. And i think you made it all wrong-
