I agree 100% we build our business from nothing on the support of our customers and we feel not passing on the card fee is us thanking them for their amazing support!! Our customers are guests that become family.

This really helped me. I had been told by other small business owners that I'd be crazy Not to charge the fee. But it hasn't sat right with me. Thank you for solidifying what I was already thinking.

I agree. Honestly, when I see a restaurant charging for this credit card fee, I stop going to them, or I reduce the tip.

It's an unnecessary pain point in an otherwise seamless transaction.

The government agencies charge us this all the time & thats okay for them but not for business owners to it? When I go to the Department of Motor Vehicle, every time i want to pay with my card, wether being debit or credit card, they'll charge a respective fee called convenience fee being higher on credit card than debit card. What is the difference, if i don't get it? Because i have all my vehicle transfer hit by this 2 75% or more fee by the DMV and that is a GOVERNMENT AGENCY. If there is no clear explanation of what might be different here then IT IS REALLY OKAY for a business owner to do so because the Government would not do it if it was against the LAW.

When I’m charged a credit card fee, I deduct the exact amount from the tip 🤷🏻‍♂️

Agree 100%. I am in the process of starting up my retail business and I believe it is a necessary business expense.

In reality card processors are a scam, they can raise there rates and just make your local shops less profitable. As a consumer I rather get my stuff for cheaper instead of paying cash and still having to pay the processing fees in the price of the products. Also this affects small business more as they have lower volumes and have to pay way higher rates for accepting cards.

Mon 7/15/2024 - I agree with Bob. My perspective is that that a credit card cost is part of the business cost & the management of that cost should be made up by the manager of the business instead of passing it on to the customer.

I hate that they also charge for condiments which should already in cost.
Now they charge for credit cards
I will not support those businesses

Today I got dinged a 1.8 percent cc charge on my bill at Roofmart. Not too impressed. You better be charging 2 percent less than your competitors on similar items if you're gonna pull that shyt on me.

It's a smoother experience for customers to work the fees into your prices. Even if it's not being mentioned, customers may be noticing and choosing not to shop because of it.
