If you are looking for a data scientist/data analyst role, applying for a job online may seem like you're putting your resume into a black hole, never to be seen again. Truth be told, you might be. One way around this problem is to get a referral. A referral is an employee recommending you for a job. The thing is, it is far easier to get someone to refer you if you have a strong network and if you know how to ask politely.
