Thank you so much for this recipe. My Fijian husband (in fact the whole family) loved the authentic taste. I added a whole green chilli along with the chilli powder and it was amazing!
Anita, I was looking for recipes to see if I could find an approximation of one of the best curries I've ever had, a goat curry in Suva thirty years ago, and gave your recipe a try this evening. I started it off in ghee, used a hot Madras curry powder (no need for the extra chilli powder), and left out the coriander leaves... and it was perfect, exactly like the one I remembered! Thank you for sharing this, it's truly wonderful.
Dear Rapid, You are welcome. Glad you enjoyed my recipe. This is my family recipe. My family uses homemade curry powder in all our recipes. Regards Anita.
@anitasguidetosimplecooking aunty can one use this same recipe to do duck curry? It's been a long time since I've been to Fiji, but I'll never forget how amazing the duck and goat curries were! I've never cooked duck but would like it in the same style as this! Would you cook the duck like chicken, longer or shorter?
Dear Itzallreal, Thank you for your comment. As I use garlic and ginger in the later stages of my cooking process which is in my video. Hope you find this helpful. Regards Anita.
