Is there any prophesy about this person Paul (Saul), like in the Old Testament? Is he a prophet? How is it that his writings (supposedly) fill about 50% of the New Testament?
It seems that he is just riding on the true prophet Jesus (Isa a.s.). He put his own ideas and claimed that they are from God/Holy Spirit/Jesus. The Gospels are canonised much later and only books that comport with Paul's ideas (and later trinitarian) are allowed. The trinitarian Christians actually wrote their own scripture.

**The Tanakh and Gospels in Circulation During Muhammad’s Time**
During the time of Muhammad (7th century CE), the following texts were in varying states of circulation: The Hebrew Bible, The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and the Pauline Epistles.
    1. **Tanakh**: The Hebrew Bible, or Tanakh, was used by Jewish communities. The Septuagint, a Greek translation of the Hebrew Scriptures, was also widely used in the Eastern Mediterranean and had been in circulation for centuries.
    2. **Gospels**: The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John were in circulation among early Christian communities. By the 1st and 2nd centuries CE, these Gospels had become established as part of Christian scripture, though the process of canonization was still ongoing.
    3. **Pauline Epistles**: The letters written by Paul (the Pauline Epistles) were also in circulation among early Christian communities by the 1st century CE. These letters were collected and recognized as scripture by various Christian groups before the 4th century, when the New Testament canon became more formalized.
The availability of the Tanakh (the Hebrew Bible) and the Gospels in the Eastern Mediterranean during the time of Muhammad is crucial to Christians, as it addresses the authenticity and authority of Islamic claims about previous scriptures.
    1. **Scriptural Integrity:** Christians believe that the Tanakh and the Gospels are the divinely inspired Word of God. If these texts were widely available during Muhammad’s time, it challenges the Islamic claim that Christian scriptures were corrupted before the advent of Islam. While the Qur’an acknowledges the Torah and the Gospel as revelations from God, it also claims they were altered or misunderstood. The existence of uncorrupted versions of these scriptures would undermine this Islamic assertion.
    2. **Historical Context:** The presence of the Tanakh and the Gospels in the region where Islam emerged suggests that Muhammad would have had exposure to these texts, or at least to the teachings derived from them. This raises questions about the originality and authenticity of the Qur’an’s teachings compared to these earlier revelations.
    3. **Theological Consistency:** For Christians, the consistency and continuity of God’s revelation are crucial. The preservation of the Tanakh and the Gospels supports the idea that God’s message has been consistently conveyed throughout history, without the need for a new revelation that contradicts or replaces the previous ones.
    4. **Evangelical Imperative:** The presence of these scriptures in the Eastern Mediterranean during Muhammad’s time underscores the evangelical mission of Christianity. It suggests that the Christian message was already being spread and that any new religious movement, like Islam, should be examined in light of the already existing revelation of the Bible.
**In summary,** the availability of the Tanakh and the Gospels during Muhammad’s time is significant to Christians because it supports the authenticity of their scriptures, challenges Islamic claims of corruption, and provides a historical context that questions the originality of Islamic teachings.

@@whyzee007 Calling them 'corrupted' is the classic cop-out when faced with undeniable historical evidence. You can’t refute the fact that the scriptures being circulated long before Mohammed's time are the same ones we have today. Scholars, manuscripts, and textual evidence all confirm this. Your claim of 'corruption' is just a baseless excuse because Islam can't reconcile its contradictions with established facts. So instead of parroting the same empty accusations, maybe confront the real problem: Islam's inconsistency with historical reality.

**The Old Testament Does Not Support Muhammad’s Prophethood**
    1. **Prophecies About the Coming Prophet**:
    - Deuteronomy 18:18-19 is often cited by Muslims as a prophecy about Muhammad. However, Christians interpret this passage as referring to Jesus. The context of the prophecy emphasizes that the prophet would come from among the Israelites, specifically from the lineage of Isaac, not from the descendants of Ishmael (to whom Muhammad belongs).
    - Deuteronomy 18:18 (NIV): “I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him.”
    2. **Lineage of Prophets**:
    - The Old Testament prophecies about future prophets and the Messiah focus on the lineage of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Muhammad, being a descendant of Ishmael, does not fit within this lineage.
    - Genesis 17:19-21 emphasizes God’s covenant with Isaac, not Ishmael.
    - Genesis 17:21 (NIV): “But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you by this time next year.”
    3. **Characteristics of Prophets**:
    - The Old Testament outlines specific characteristics and signs of true prophets, including their consistency with previous revelations and adherence to the covenant with Israel. Muhammad’s teachings diverge from the core teachings of the Old Testament, particularly concerning the nature of God and the continuation of the covenant through Israel.
    - Deuteronomy 13:1-3 warns against prophets who lead people to follow other gods or contradict previous revelations.
    4. **Messianic Prophecies**:
    - The Old Testament contains numerous prophecies about the coming Messiah, which Christians believe are fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Muhammad does not fulfill these prophecies, as his life and mission do not align with the detailed descriptions of the Messiah found in books like Isaiah, Micah, and Psalms.
    - Isaiah 53:3-5 (NIV) describes the suffering servant, whom Christians identify as Jesus: “He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain… But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”
By examining these points, it is clear that the Old Testament does not support the claim of Muhammad’s prophethood but instead points to the coming of Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of its prophecies.

      ### 1. **Reliability of Genesis**
The reliability of the Book of Genesis as a historical and theological document can be assessed in several ways:
      - **Textual Evidence:** The Hebrew Bible, including Genesis, has been meticulously preserved by Jewish scribes over centuries. The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in the mid-20th century provided manuscripts of Genesis dating back to the 2nd century BCE, which closely align with the Masoretic Text, showing minimal variation over time. This indicates a high degree of textual fidelity.
      - **Archaeological Corroboration:** While Genesis contains a mix of history, theology, and myth, some aspects are corroborated by archaeological findings. For instance, the existence of ancient cities like Ur and Haran, mentioned in Genesis, is well-supported by archaeological evidence.
      - **Internal Consistency:** Genesis displays a remarkable consistency within itself and with the rest of the Pentateuch (the first five books of the Bible), suggesting that it has been carefully preserved as a coherent narrative.
      ### 2. **Jeremiah 8:8 and Alleged Tampering**
Jeremiah 8:8 states: *"How can you say, ‘We are wise, for we have the law of the Lord,’ when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?"* This verse is often cited by critics to suggest that the Bible has been tampered with.
      - **Contextual Understanding:** Jeremiah was a prophet during a time of great apostasy in Judah. His statement in 8:8 reflects his critique of the corrupt religious leaders of his time, who were misusing the Law for their gain, rather than a statement about the corruption of the text itself. Jeremiah’s critique is aimed at the interpretation and application of the Law, not its textual integrity.
      - **Historical Evidence:** The Old Testament texts, including Genesis, were preserved with extreme care by Jewish scribes, particularly the Masoretes, who developed a detailed system for copying the scriptures to prevent alterations. The consistency between different ancient manuscripts of Genesis (e.g., Dead Sea Scrolls, Septuagint, Masoretic Text) demonstrates that there was no widespread tampering with the text itself.
      ### Conclusion
While Genesis is a complex text that mixes history, theology, and myth, the evidence suggests it has been reliably preserved over the centuries. Jeremiah 8:8, when understood in context, critiques the misuse of the Law rather than claiming the text was altered or tampered with. Therefore, both historical and textual evidence support the reliability of Genesis as it stands today.

    **Why Islam Doesn’t Make Sense**
Consider this contrast: Christianity is a historical account recorded by eyewitnesses who were directly involved in the events, ensuring an accurate and detailed representation. In contrast, Islam's narrative was compiled later by individuals who were not present at the original events and relied on oral traditions, leading to alterations and embellishments over time.
Muslims reinterpret key Biblical narratives to fit their theological framework. 📜🔄🕌
**Example:** Christianity presents a detailed and consistent historical account where Abraham is commanded by God to sacrifice his son Isaac, highlighting his obedience and faith. In Islam, however, the narrative changes, placing Ishmael in Isaac’s role, despite the lack of explicit mention in the Quran. This alteration relies on later traditions rather than the original texts, leading to a narrative that diverges from the historical and theological continuity seen in the Bible.
