Vitesse with my former bandmate Carl Carlton aka Karl Heinz Buskohl from Ihrhove Ostrfriesland on lead guitar, i played many years with him in the same band, before Long Tall Ernie saw us performing and he was gone to LTE and The Shakers,before he joined Vitesse, now he is a top musician and back in Germany, rocking the stages with his own projects, and bands like Peter Maffay and Udo Lindenberg... had to share it ofc. grts from a dutch cheesehead, living now in Bad Zwischenahn...
Thank you for sharing that info! At the age of 14, I attended a concert of Vitesse in a rural Dutch village; in Drenthe. That was 1982/83. It was so impressive... Just wow! I can still recall it vividly. Forever in my brain:-) I presume you were in that setting? Herman was outright magic in those days. And what a great sound from his Simmons drums... Had Herman be in his prime now, I bet he would challenge Estepario and for sure Herman would have his own YT channel. Tragic to see the video of Herman in his current state... (I was not able to view that video to end.) I also live in Germany, not far away from Irhove. What a small world!
I was a big fan of Vitesse in Tholen years !, They were great and fun to be with , I met them several times. I Just to traveled along with them .
I had a crush on the bassist !😊

Rosalyn, my daughters name. At highschool al lot of teachers started to hum the intro of this song.
Years ago I contacted the Dutch TV archives if any tapes of the Popnight were left. All were used to record new programs.
Until someone on the Vitesse website wrote: "I have this concert on VHS-tape." He set it over on DVD and he made a lot of fans very happy.

Now this is youthsentiment😉😁.. this was my favorite band when l was a teen and l have seen them live several time👍👍. As a 15/16 year old. Still love their music, it is special❤😉😁
I remember that night 😃. Youngest brother of my father got married. This was a concert all night and I could not see it😟. My favourite band Golden Earring was also playing. Wow 40 years ago!!!

So nice to hear again but on a very very sad note l have to say Ruud Englebert ( basist) passed away on January 19th 2023 after fighting cancer ,at the age of 72 years( just 5.5 weeks after his birthday)🕯😔😔😔

@@margotcoljee8594 my youth hero too.. I have met him when I was 17/18 years old. A very humble and sweet man,we talked on the phone a number of times.. Sad he has passed away too...
Vitesse had around sixty line up changes with over forty band members, and many of the Dutch top rock musicians at one time were part of that band. Including Herman Brood.
So why did they change line-ups more often than a girl changed shoes? Let me quote Golden Earring guitarist George Kooymans: "What a dickhead." when referring to Lead singer/drummer Herman van Boeyen.

Nope, they were named after the French word for “velocity” which considering the fact that they were all on Speed, makes it quite appropriate.
