I would LOOOVE a video about how to find your own personal makeup style. I feel like I'm either constantly experimenting or trying to make someone else's style work on me. I haven't had a "signature look" since high school.
What if that’s your style? Being curious and experiment with makeup :-) Have you tried collaging makeup you love and look for the patterns. I bet your friends would also be able to tell you :-) And - I second the video idea, great suggestion! 🎉❤
One thing I found that helped with finding my personal style was observing what I naturally or normally do. For example, I found myself putting on sunscreen and then not wanting to put on foundation after that. Being protected with sunscreen is very important to me, and also the idea of putting on foundation became a chore. Therefore, I’m accepting that and using tinted SPF or skin tint that contains SPF, and I won’t be purchasing any heavier foundations in the future. Plus, finding out my seasonal color helped me figure out that people with my coloring don’t really need foundation anyway due to our natural luminosity. So, I am happy to invest in sunscreens that look especially nice, especially knowing that I don’t have to purchase foundation. Also, with the color analysis, I know what colors not to buy, and that made things much simpler. Anyway, all that to say, just take a step back and observe yourself. Hope that helps!
I would say like find the one product you’re always drawn to and try to center everything else around making that work for you. Eg, I always want to wear bold lips but I don’t like feeling too done-up. Ergo, I played around with the style of the rest of the makeup, and I found that I love very light makeup, glittery highlighter, and faux freckles with a bold lip! It’s SUCH a look and makes me feel amazing!
I feel like the pomegranate makeup trend could be something people with acne scars can play around with. Wearing light or no base with blush could be an interesting way to have the acne spots be the spotlight in the look rather than something to cover up
@@donotreply8979 it’s the same idea with the sunburn blush. Some people like that overstated flush in the skin, even if for others it’s a naturally occurring discoloration.
I’m really enjoying your videos! You’re encouraging people to think more about our consumption more critically, which is great! For years I was trying to fill a void with makeup and now only try to buy what I know I’ll like.
i’m not big on trends but i think the boyfriend blush trend is adorable. it’s the one trend i’ve actually tried on my round face and i actually liked it on my face shape, and i used a warm nude blush shade i have and love. i natural freckles which i appreciate so much more than when i was younger, so luckily i didn’t have to add faux freckles. ♥️♥️♥️ always stay true to yourself.
You are always on point with great topics and informative insights...thank you! Very helpful in enhancing our individual authenticity while incorporating/trying new products/trends in a way that looks best for ourselves. Keep these topics coming! 💜
More amazing analysis! Your intellectual stradegies really make your beauty content unique. I've been a beauty junky for over 35 years (hard core - like, full out beauty room) and I still learn so much from your videos. So...thanks! And great job! 🎉
I really appreciate this kind of video! i think videos regarding make up philosophy and advice on how to consider makeup for your life are uncommon but definitely fill a gap in the make up content niche. I will definitely be integrating these tips into my makeup approach!
Amanda, please do a before you buy a powder. I know you don’t really like a lot of powders but I’m really interested on your take on different powders.
So awesome to see you mention the Clinique hydro plump! I live in a dry climate so dry lips are always a concern for me. I got the Clinique hydro plump in a random value set once, tried it as an afterthought, and it’s been my go-to ever since! Such an excellent fragrance free petrolatum+ lip product for on the go.
I for one would love a video (or series??) on how to find your signature makeup style. I also think a series like that could be really popular as curated “capsule” minimalist-ish style as informed by color analysis is wildly popular right now.
RULE NUM 1 NVR WEAR MORE THAN 1 TREND @ A TIME❤❤😊❤❤ when investing in trend make up buy minis or drugstore😊beware of minis though they can be rip off price per amount number 3 shop your stash for colors and products and ask yourself do I need this and will I use it I also like to limit myself or no buy before and after planned or large buys❤
I’ve always loved the pomegranate look and boyfriend blush before they were trendy, I’m disappointed they’re in the cycle now because they’re just gonna get thrown away once the next thing comes around :(
idk i think it looks good on a lot of skin tones. redheads aren’t the only ppl who have freckles naturally. i’ve seen it on a range of skin tones from light to dark skin people but i think application/using the proper colour is probably the deciding factor in looking good.
i am really sick of seeing blush applications that are applied in the area/method that contour is. It is not flattering. Blush is where your face naturally flushes. it's either close to the nose or low on the cheek, if not both. i feel like your blush is perfect.

When I saw this trend pop up all I thought was "great for people with Rosazea"
ive been doing this for years (just the blush-no base part) and it’s wonderful
Wouldn't that just look like rosacea?

My acne fucked me over lately by being focused on my chin

Great video! Video request for the most blurring foundations/ matte-skin finish foundations for very dry skin!
Will do!!
I wonder if the New ELF foundation would be a good contender for you. Its supposed to be hydrating with a satin finish, so a bit of powder on top.
@@pinkbubblesnake Yes, it is definitely something I want to try. It has gotten great reviews as well.
These tips make so much sense, I would definitely try new makeup trends applying them :)

I do my own version of cold girl and crying girl makeup I just love how it looks
What is crying girl makeup lmao sounds like me

Loving these videos, the journalistic style, you're so helpful and informative throughout them too!
I see you've moved away from the dark green background in your last couple videos. Nice change.
I agree 💯💯💯.
She’s had that dark green forever I think, and I totally agree. I like the lighter/brighter look
I didn’t know about this micro trend, but I used the Undone water tint in Merlot as blush and lip tint and really liked it
I did this same thing while watching the video!! Haha except in the shade Mauve which on me is bright berry
Love the freckle tip! Since wearing sunscreen daily my freckles have faded so I’ll have to try this out!
The clinique lip treatment is actually my secret holy grail! It's so good when my lips are incredibly chapped and in need of resuscitation.

I love the Clinique lip masks. I’ve tried about 3 different ones including moisture surge one and they are all great.
Thank you this was excellent. Your advice was spot on and well researched. I’d love a follow up video on your personal makeup journey
What she said! Ty
Hi Amanda, I think it's fun to experiment with different makeup techniques and at the same time maintain our individuality 🌷
ps… i’d never heard of the clinique balm until you mentioned it.
You could make this a series where you do a tutorial on your take on a viral makeup trend. So you could break it down the make your version of it.
13:31 “Is it a bad look? I mean…I think someone could argue that it is.” Haha! You always crack me up : )
This was so good! Thank you for encouraging people to be themselves rather than looking like everyone else!
What a great approach to makeup routine! Amanda, thank you for being so real and beyond these unnecessary trends🤍

You’re absolutely amazing!!! Such a great suggestions!!!
I would love for you to show us how you wear some of the trends
great video! i would love to see a best powder foundations video from the drugstore
Thank you Amanda! This is so helpful, refreshing & an absolute reminder to be authentic ❤️
All good empowering options in this video. Love the idea to try one authentic item instead of looking like a commercial for the trend or brand.
Great job!!! I’m going to try the freckles because I’ve always loved them… and haven’t tried it yet :-)
Love these last couple of videos.

What are your thoughts on vieve products? Particularly their eye wands and eyeshadows! Have you tried them before and I missed the video?
Would love a personal style video.

Bravo girl, thanks for this wonderful video. 😊😊😊
My pleasure 😊
Oh yeah that pomegranate thing color wise looks like road rash but over my face 😅.
Same lmao
I am extremely warm-toned (like amanda's favourite tangerine blushes look coral red on me) and it looks so BAD
Love this idea for a video. Please do more
Oooh love this ❤
I love your Parisian attitude towards makeup
Thank you❤
Thanks for watching!!
I love your eye look! What are you wearing?
this video is giving HLP vibe hehehe

It only looks good on people who find a light colored freckle pen! Almost no one has these dark brown freckles lol they look so fake or like moles
@@Justaregularoldplumbus they drawn on moles alot in korean makeup, I've seen Minsco do it alot. They even have specific products for it
Thank you for doing your research. It seems like you’ve been doing your part on this…

The blush too high and pinkish, so it looks like a rush... i prefer your usual placement
Bravo!

The fun thing about make up is that everyone doesn’t have to follow the rules
You just don’t seem to like a lot of make up.
Rather have someone be honest than act like they're "omg literally so obsessed" and constantly selling products like they're some QVC bitch
