Beautiful pets. I can see Valjean has a bit of husky in him. So it's even more amazing you trained him not to chase the kitties. ❤
We have a 3 year old heeler named Duke ....we also just got a kitten....we just let the kitten roam.....after about a month now the kitten and Duke are playing nice and enjoying each other.....it's quite awesome 😎👍.
This video made me miss my old buddy Gabe, passed away 5 mths ago, had him over 20 yrs and he was awesome with dogs especially my 3yr old heeler.
Nice vid
That's an amazing video!
Sweety pup did great with some great help!!!
I have a 12 year old Blue Heeler. She is my constant companion, but she does act aggressive sometimes. She will go after other dogs, so I don't let her have that opportunity. Five years ago, she saved the life of a tiny abandoned kitten who was only a couple weeks old. She stimulated the little girl to have a bm, and took care of her like a mama cat would. My Vet was astounded at her actions. She's never had the opportunity to have puppies. But we have 7 cats. She's the mama boss of all the kitties, and all of them love her. She's been such a great asset, friend, and companion.
Awesome , cute babies
Valjean does remind me of heelers from southern australia which tend to be shorter in the legs and nice to see a U.S heeler without the docked tail.
You do know that there are two types of healers and a variety within them. There’s the ones with tails. And the ones NATURALLY BORN WITHOUT tails called the stumpy tailed cattle dog. Also there’s the shorter chubbier ones and there’s a variety of ones that are more slender and sleek.
You’re confusing healers with the Australian Shepard. Those dogs are docked and not naturally with short tails.
ruclips.net/video/R7vooCTv9iQ/видео.html. Well aware
@@FukaiKokoro I don't think he's confusing anything. I live in the US & have a heeler with a docked tail. Ranchers tend to dock the tails so they don't get shut in gates or stepped on by cattle.
Thank you for the great encouragement i got from this video. We are fostering Blue, a blue healer, and hoping we can get him and our 10 yr old cat to co-exist in the house before cold weather hits.
I have a female Heeler and she is a fantastic retriever. As good as any lab. Give these dogs a focus and a challenge and they can't be beat
I have 3 cats that get along with my girl and 2 that want nothing to do with her. (1/2 Blue Heeler/half Border Collie). The two that wont go near her were ferals that were rescued form my backyard at about 5 weeks old. They got along with my last girl, but she was older and not as interested in them. I guess we all know a 15 mo puppy can be a bit to excited around the cats for them to feel comfortable. Hoping someday they start dealing with each other.
My Heeler grew up with the cats I already had and LOVES cats. He just does not understand when they don't sometimes love him when we go to other places. lol
This is so helpful, thank you!!!
Great video! Important to take it slow when introducing pets
Lol I like your humor with the Bill Murray clip! Watching your heeler react to a squirrel is like watching my heeler mix (Gshep, chow) react to squirrels! 🤣 She is getting better with lots of training. If I'm able to see them before her I can tell her to leave it and she will watch intensely and maybe whine, but generally she won't freak out. If she sees one run without me giving her a command, all bets are off.
We've had an increase in roaming cats, so that will be next, they aren't around as frequently as squirrels though, so it will be much harder. Currently she flips out like ahe used to with squirrels.
Any wildlife (squirrels, deer, foxes, rabbits, etc.) and he looses his mind. It’s pretty ingrained into him, so I’m thinking it’s the one behavior I’m unlikely to train him out of.
@@ValjeanTheBlueHeeler most definitely!
Bueatiful healer
Maybe humans could learn a lesson here ... Your animals are beautiful.
Sadly my heeler gets chased by cats and hates it. Poor guy 😂
My cats were around before the pup. Pup is way too high energy for most of cats (I have 5) 3 are fine w her, 2 are hard no.
I had a lab alsatian cross as a child and a cat he was great with cats and would chase other dogs off if they came too close to the cat.
Did valjean initially stalk/stare at Gavy in the beginning? I just adopted a 2 year old heeler that is under socialized about a week ago, she only lunges at my cat when my cat is moving or is very close to her. I probably should just give it some more time since it’s only been a week. Any more advice? I have them separated with a baby gate.
I'm just guessing but are you a Les Mis fan?
Good guess 😀
My cattle dog acts like a cat ...cattle dogs have to be socialized around ALL animals
Easier with pups
