  • Take a look at this comparison of the LIAN LI AL120 FANS to the CORSAIR QL120 and the THERMALTAKE Riing Quad.
    Do you think the AL120 is that much better? These fans have been very popular due to their modular nature, which no doubt is awesome. But I wanted to check it out for myself
    In my opinion, all 3 are good fans, but i'll let you decide which one you like best.
    This is just a quick overview and introduction to how these fans look on the bench.
    Check out these fans here for current pricing and more details (These are affiliate links and do benefit the channel if you choose to use them, a huge thank you if you choose to use them)

    Great video 👍🏻 thank you for that this comes in the perfect time as I want to switch my old fans to RGB but can't decide between the AL120 and QL120. I personaly prefer the effects from ICUE but also prefer the Look of the AL120s. Cant wait for the follow up video of the AL120s with ICUE

      Thanks Ugur Muhcu! I can't disagree, I do like the AL120's. I've got them on the bench right now running under icue. They control nicely in icue. It's not 100% perfect as there isn't an exact matching model in icue, but I can get it very close, i'm messing with it still though. I should have that video out within the week. I'm putting it together. Thanks for watching and taking the time to post your feedback!!!

    Lian Li is what im gonna upgrade too. I got corsair fans right now and the wiring is down right ridiculous, Lian has more CFM about 20 (a decent amount), More pressure and is quite for the most part. So less wires and better cooler (on paper) can't beat that

      Dude I’m in the same boat. I’ve been running LL and ML Corsairs since 2019. I just spent over $300 buying 6 white QL 120, and 3 white ML elite last night. Then I came across the Lian li AL. I like the Corsair looks better, the Lian li is still beautiful, I just like the look of two full rings around the hub and blade and the effects you can do with them. But I’d that enough to justify all the cables, the high price, and small performance hit? Idk. Now I’m confused. I can save $35 on 9 white Al fans which isn’t much, but that’s not the main reason. The cable management is supurb. Also on paper the AL is good enough for rad and case fan, QL is not. That’s why I bought 3 ML rgb elites. I’m building a custom loop and having less cables and hubs would be nice. On the flip I love Corsair. I love the looks of their rgb, the effects, and I’m so used to them by now. Ugh. I probably still have time to cancel my Amazon order. Maybe I’ll get both and see which to keep. I’ve never owned Corsair QL, only ML, LL, SP, AF

    Have you looked at the Lian Li SL120 infinity fans? They use L-Connect 3 software. I'm thinking of getting those for my next build but for me performance is as important as ARGB. But also the available colour options of the fan as I'm looking at building an all white rig and not all fans come in white.

    The only problem with lian li fans is you cant really combine them with other rgb fans. I bought the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240 with a-rgb fans and had to switch them out cause of how pale and cheap the rgb looked compared to lian li al120s.

      Hi Aceberg Tunc, In most cases depending on the day, the Lian Li fans are cheaper than corsair and thermaltake, but you can find deals. I like Lian Li fans for sure, but I like the corsair ecosytem better than lian li. But, let's be honest, you can't go wrong with Lian Li, I use their fans and Strimer RGB cables, awesome stuff.

    Hi. please tell me how best to connect 10 corsair ML120 fans to adjust their speed and rgb. I have 2 usb ports on my motherboard. Method 1: along with the watel cooling Corsair h150i elite capellix, the Commander Core is included and it is designed for 6 fans and 4 more remain unconnected. I have the opportunity to buy Commander Pro and thereby occupy the second usb port on my motherboard + use two LED connectors to connect some kind of backlight. there is also a second way: buy Commander Core XT and use it together with Commander Core + I know that they can be connected in one line and occupy only one USB port on the motherboard. what is the best way to use it, what do you recommend?

    I love the TT Ring Quad. But the bad side of it is that the Back of the TT Ring Quad does not look as nice as the front.
    If ThermalTake was to put rings at the back of the fan, They would be 1000% awesome. The TT Ring Quad I like most, just wish it had lights in the back. 🤷‍♀

    • @HardwareArtisan
      @HardwareArtisan  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi TwstedTV, I can't disagree with that statement! I agree, I wish the backs looked better. Or, at least offer a reversed blade version of that fan. I wish more fans would offer both blade options like the SWAFAN EX ones do, that gives you the ability to put them anywhere you want and keep the look.
      But, great point, thermaltake needs to make a "DUAL" quad ring or make it reversible....haha. Thanks for watching!

    The icue software is great and so is L connect, thermaltake is far behind. I actually got a bunch of the tt quad that i will be using on a build since they were like 80 bucks for 3. Their led set up worked for what i wanted perfectly.
    I would say the tt quads have the best leds super bright just not any back leds. Corsair has hot spots on their fans and its a shame considering their price point, light is not diffused well at all.
    The AL fans probably are the best looking all around and super easy to wire up which is a huge plus and another down side for Corsair.

    Can I sync CORSAIR FANs with gigabyte motherboard

    • @HardwareArtisan
      @HardwareArtisan  2 года назад +1

      Hi Automotive Gamer, that's a great question! I'm not aware of any easy way to sync corsair fans to a gigabyte motherboard.
      iCUE will sync with ASUS motheboards and the wording on Corsairs website indicates in the future more compatability will be added, but as far as I know, only ASUS motherboards currently will work. But even at that, I think that's to get the motherboard working in icue, not vice versa like your asking.
      The corsair rgb/fan controllers have no motherboard sync option (unlike many other types of controllers), so without serious modification of the fan connection itself, I don't know of any way this can be done. It's easy to go the other direction in most cases, getting non-corsair RGB to sync with corsair.
      Another solution you might consider is using openRGB or SignalRGB, I need to explore this further and it's on my list, but I believe openRGB will allow you to apply gigabyte motherboard effects to other devices (but, my memory on this feature is faded, but check it out, openRGB is free).
      Thanks for a great question, and thanks for watching!!!

    Do the corsair QL's look as bad in person as they do on video? The lack of diffusion is so obvious and makes them look really cheap....

    • @HardwareArtisan
      @HardwareArtisan  Год назад

      Hi Michael Kahn, I personally don't mind the look of them. I have 3 of them in my current case. But, you are correct, They are less bright overall than say the LL120 Fans in my opinion. I can see the individual LED's in the QL's more pronounced. I make every effort to get it as close as possible on camera as they they look in reality.....it's difficult to do and my experience is generally things look better in person than on camera....
      But, the fact you brought it up tells me you should probably skip the QL fan.....Personally, my favorite fan is still the LL120 Corsair fan, they look great. These all look great in my opinion and i'm nitpicking, but the LL120 is still my goto fan for looks. That's my opinion only though, haha.
      Good luck, have fun, thanks for watching!!!
