Theres another interesting aspect i think people mightve not noticed in this episode. Tagaryans have a theory that only one rider can be bonded to one dragon. Says who? When Rhaenera summons Vermithor to the dragon mount initially and touches him you can clearly see some sort of bond already made from that. She just chose to walk away and let one of the dragon seeds claim him. Imagine if the reality was anyone could claim any number of dragons once they're familiar with you. You see it in last seasons episode as well when Daemon approchaes vermithor and makes Vermithor calm. Rhanerya could've mounted Vermithor herself and had him under her full control as well as Syrax. What about in GOT how Dany had Drogon but had the other two dragons with her following what she and Drogon did. She never tried to ride any of them except Drogon. My theory is the dragon keepers, the superstition, and what the Targarayans believed all goes back to the begining of High Valyria when whoever set up structure there must've made everyone think this was the case as to keep order and prevent one person from becoming to powerful which i also believe was mentioned in the books
The thing is, later in the story according to the books, you see what happens when someone isn’t bonded to a dragon tries to ride it. Vermithor is used to humans and human interaction
That's true. But in the books the son jumps on Syrax unexpectedly before a bond was made and that's what startles her and causes her to throw him off. It seems you must first bond with the dragon and gain acceptance before you can actually ride it. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and what actually happens in future episodes. Syrax in my opinion is also very inexperienced and young with not as much structure as Vermithor or some of the other dragons. The reality is Vermithor was only really able to be claimed because he was trained from a baby and still remembers the structure of things. That's why The Cannibal would probably be the hardest if not impossible to tame because the cannibal had no structure and has no understanding of what humans are. He's to powerful to control.
Another interesting thing to see would be if you can claim multiple dragons would the first dragon be jealous and lash out? Which could've been why it was set up this way also. It might weaken the bond if the dragon is ridden by multiple riders
@Binge_Zone I mean from her train of thought she'd rather not have the war to begin with. So what she could actually be trying to do is use this as detterence. My idea on it was Vermithor knocked Ulf off the dragon mount initially and got his scent on him. Later Silverwing nudges Ulf away because she was nervous of him harming the eggs. When she then goes to get closer again to him she smells Vermithors scent and yields. In the animal world its all about displays of dominance, protecting your offspring, and scents
@@Binge_Zone I don't think it goes that deep. It seems in this world the people have all the superstition but when it comes down to it some people are just at the right place at the right time. He was then desperate and Adam was the same skin color and looked similar to Laenor. When he saw Adam in the beach he was then playful and willing to accept him as a rider
